Gianni 7

Well there has to be a thread, right.

I'm tempted for the Gia 20% but wait for the moment anyway. Don't know what to think on the 75% on ecrypted stuff so. Seems that DAZ wants to reserve the best deals for encrypted stuff now.

  • Damn you, DAZ ;-) Don't know whether the price was right but as the Gianni Pro Bundle dropped to 37$, I just had to hit the purchase button. Even got the Detective Bundle for 5$. So much for me not wanting to buy anything encrypted.

I was excited to see Gianni 7 come out, because I really like Gianni 6. So far, though, I don't really like what I see of Gianni 7. The morph is too chisled for my taste, so I think I'll pass on this one. The FWSA item has the nipples way off to the sides, it looks like to me. The items in the bundle and even 75% off weren't enough to tempt me. I'm sad about that. But I'm sure he'll appeal to people who are looking for the more muscular and fit guys.

  • He is far from Gianni 7, that's right. Gia 7 was a big improvement for my taste. With Gianni, we'll see. Wanted just some company for Mike and Leo.

I'm curious whether Gianni 7 renders as stark white as he does in the promos under different lighting. Looking forward to seeing customer renders of him in here.

I wonder if this matching female+male in the final two weeks of the month is going to be the norm now. That's pretty cool if so.

Not sure what I think of him yet. Need to see not promo renders.

I like the trend of two Daz characters a month, one female, one male. Please continue, I'm really looking forward to this last week of the month.

I'm just really irritated that all the clothing that comes in Gianni 7 bundles is "historical" or SciFi, while the contemporary Trench Coat is DAZ Connect Only. I want the Trench Coat, but I'm not planning on upgrading to 4.9 until I can get faster internet speeds. And I'm not willing to buy something now I can't use until much later.

Not to mention I kinda expected Gianni 7 be a little more buff, more like Gianni 6. I'll get him, at some point, but I think Leo 7 is by far the best looking male figure DAZ has released in the Genesis 3 line.

ETA: I think the great deals on DAZC only products is intended to get us hooked on Connect. And they are encrypted so DAZ can see how well the encryption works to hinder/prevent pirating. If the encryption doesn't work, as the naysayers predict, I hope DAZ will remove the encryption from the DAZC only products so those of us not willing to upgrade or use DAZ Connect can still buy and use these products.

What brings the Pro Bundle down to $37?

Right. I think I will buy Gianni7, not because I am overly enthusiastic about him, but because I don't have enough G3M figures, and there are no head/face morphs for G3M/M7 in sight. Compared to Leo7 he looks good, though a bit too pale for my taste, and too 'chisled', as Barbult put it right.

I guess a combo of being platinum club and owning Gia + owning the Egypt bundle some fourd variable which I don't have, because I have the first three variables, and that puts my bundle down to 66.13.

Then I like the guy, but I'm not overly found of his items, save for the survival outfit, which is awesome by the way. Cowboys have never been my thing and another generic barbarian doesn't trigger my mind either. And the hairs are too alike each other, so I think I'll only get one of them.
Too bad that the trenchcoat was encrypted-only and not included in any bundle.
My plan this time is cherry-picking.

Yes, head/face morphs - that's definitely something which has been a let down for the G3 version.

These things were far better for G2 and even better for G1. Seems that for every new version we're getting less and less options to alter and design our characters. That's a pity!

I noticed you don't get the extra 30% off the Exo Suit Male textures... I still get $7.33. I get $52.90 for the Pro Bundle. Guess I will wait till later today to check out.

    Store glitch?

  • I kept wondering if we would get Giani or Jayden today. I was going to be happy with either. So I bought the pro, but the Cole character looks a little more cartoony to me for some reason. Maybe it's the eyebrows?

I think I'm on $57: but these different figures don't inspire - there is a declared reduction for Gia 7, which is nice. But now I wonder should I just forget it if I can't work out why some people are getting things for less. I don't have the Egyptian bundle, but I don't see why that is relevant.

Sorry, correction, I'm om $52. Getting myself confused now. Unless it changed while I wasn't looking. Think I'll watch the rain for a bit.

You know what they are doing, yet you don't care; this of course means that you say one thing in your posts, but you purchasing habits show something else.

I was excited too see him even more with the added discounts, some of the pro item outfits I don't think I'll use but i like the characters and the bard and cowboy outfits

You are right, can't argue about. As I said, I did not have plans to get the Pro Bundle in the first place. Was at 74$ once I took it in my cart just to check what the final price might be. Expected a mild additional discount due to Gia7. Don't know what triggered the bundle to be as low as 37$. Either some former purchase or just a glitch. And gone are the resolutions.

With encrypted content it's a different story though. I did get the first encrypted products as they have been free. The detective bundle was a steal at around $5 so I did get that one as well although I have not even migrated to 4.9 yet. That does not change the fact that I'm uncomfortable with encryption due to the impression I have that encryption might limit customer options. At least I might select much more carefully what I purchase once encryption will be rolled out on a broader basis. Time will tell.

Hm, nooo, I really liked Gianni 6, 7 looks nothing like him. I see a trand that not only the girsl look all the same, it has infected the men as well. Pity!

I was thinking his face felt a bit M7-y, but I figured it was just me.

I wonder if next month there'll be Izabella 7 released shortly followed by Iza..bob 7.

    HOLY HELL!!! GIANNI'S HAWT!!! 8D

Sorry, but I'm giving DAZ a standing ovation for this one! :)

Izabella and her prince charming is a MUST! : ) Or, maybe we could finally get an ethnic duo, that would make me very happy : )

Anyways, here is a quick render. Very well done Daz! I like him even more than M7 : )

Several morph sliders were adjusted to make him a bit bigger : )

I really wish there were some sort of flex JCMs, I tried to put him into a muscle flex pose, but it just does not look right since the muscle isn't really there : D

Also for the skin in the promos, it's just the strong enviroment lighting there which makes the skin look more pale.

My scene is rather dark with neutral lights so you can see his skin is rather nice looking. I'm glad the trend of fake spray tans seems to be going away : )

That render should be included in the base figure promo details. What a beautiful physique and render!

Dammit Toyen! I'd been sitting here thinking how BORED I was with all the new G3 models, and that I disliked Gianni cos he was waaaaaaaaay pale and looked DULL. Then you had to go post this render. :sigh: I'm taking a second look at him now.

Aren't there muscularity morphs that you can do flexing with? I was looking at the ones released recently and that was the impression I got from the images - unless it just makes them bigger which doesn't really work?

  • NoName99NoName99 Posts: 322

He looks a lot like old school bodybuilder Steve Reeves, especially in Toyen's great looking render.

Thanks for pointing that out lx, it will be on my wishlist now : )
