I am so happy that I was not the only one let down with Eva's release. I'm hoping that tomorrow's Eva releases will make me have any desire to get her at all. But for an initial release, the options provided in the PRO package were totally underwhelming. Bathing suits and lingerie can be nice, but Cinderella isn't going to the ball in a two-piece!

Also, where's my men!? This marks, by my count, the third new female release in a row without any corresponding men. We never really did get a Hiro or David for G2M!

"And none of them will be brown. That won't happen till a few months before G4F/V8."

I laughed out loud at that but it's probably true.  :)

Like G2F, expect a few females out before M7. I bet it would be 2-3 ladies before Micheal, but at this rate it might be 6!

I wouldn't be surprised if G3M/M7 were the big release for next PC anniversary in October. I doubt we'll see them sooner than that.

Well V7 had a rather brown/latino feel to her I think.

She looks Portugese/Spanish to me. Eva looks Irish.

V7 wasn't pasty white, I agree. But she's not dark either. Also her morphs are obviously going to work for certain characters and not others. If you have the G3F facial morphs and/or some skills with external modelling tools you can get what you want.

But my point was for Daz "figures" (shapes with pro packs) we probably won't get a certain look for a long time. I might be wrong, but history tends to repeat itself.

Yeah... A new base figure with a full-priced and underwhelming pro bundle. Well, in keeping with my Mother's wisdom of always finding something nice to say, at least the footwear with the fantasy dress/thing isn't heels. Still think I'll pass on this one.

oh and I think Eva has a great face! Forgot to say.

Eva looks a lot like V6 to me. Which is an improvement, as V7, in my eyes, is downright ugly. Maybe they should have swapped the names? Still not buying Eva tho.

Personally, my thought is that early on you should make products with a lot of diversity and then fill in with more nuanced choices.

Daz takes the approach of making lots of slightly different white girls because people are likely to buy them. They might be right.

Yeah I would love that personally. But for some reason they don't seem to make non-white characters outside of themes. So it's too soon for another Africa tribal pack or Kung Fu pack I bet. They could ya know, just make different modern people of varying ethnicities and save the Martial Arts and Sahara stuff for months and years to come.

I wish they'd strive for diversity as first priority... The later is IMO true and incredibly dissapointing. But at least that saves me money cheeky

In the product description it says that both of the characters that are "for Eva 7" use G3 base UVs.

Thanks, I actually didn't even go look at the information after seeing "for eva"

I'd still rather not constanty get new uvs within one generation, tbh...

We´ll see what they come up with next in less than a month I guess.

I bet that another female model will be released before the end of August.

Did anyone else notice the reference to "Bethany 7" on the "Bra and Panty Lingerie Set for Genesis 3 Female(s)" (http://www.daz3d.com/bra-and-panty-lingerie-set-for-genesis-3-female-s) product page?

So I filled my cart with the things I wanted. 4 items from the Pro bundle, including Eva of course LOL, and 2 extra items and it comes to under $70. Then I tried the Pro bundle and the 2 extra items. Over $90.

So yeah... no Pro bundle this time for me for the first time in a couple of years!

I love you dearly DAZ but smarten up! I would have happily spent the $90 if it were usable stuff. frown

Whenever the new male figure comes out Im going to do a solid month of renders of just him. Most likely nude because they never have much in the way of clothes for males.

So look out for that wooo

assuming you rendering him nude, you'd get the propack so he's not a Ken doll. In which case you should have at least 1 usable outfit from the propack. So mostly nudes with one generic sports outfit or warrior outfit *wink*

On the plus side, I see that content creators have been favoring the G2F base UVs over those of add-on characters.

The following characters explicitly state that they're using the base UVs: FWSA Adaline for V7, Summer for V7, Cosette HD, Carmilla for V7, EJ Valeria, FWSA Bonnie, FWSA Dayna for Eva 7, Flora for Eva 7.

Not sure about 3DUniverse's Skyler, the base V7 textures, or the base Eva 7 textures. I sure hope that this is a trend away from 75 gazillion poorly supported UV sets, though...

    Bethany 7!

So lets play guess the figure! : D

My bet would be a shorter curvy latino woman.

Another skinny white chick with skimp wear... no thanks.  Even the jump suit has a skimpiness to it..  Get the boob tape out!  lmao

Or what would be really cool is Bethanny being a mature character. I think that would sell well and she´d certainly stand out.

My preference is not for a specifically aged character. Though I know they do get created and sold. I like morphs to age any character, so you can dial in different features as needed and turn your whole library into older people. But I do see the benefit of a custom sculpted mature character, but not sure she would be a base figure(shape + propack).

  • Just wanted to let you all know that we listened, and heard your concerns about the selection of items in the bundle.  So, we're throwing another, tamer piece of clothing out to all of you who buy Eva 7 or her bundles.  We hope you enjoy your free Summer Kiss outfit.

As for diversity,  would point out that Genesis 2 saw a huge change in tha respect as compared to Genesis.  Just in the last year we've released mermaids, toons, africans, asians, mayans, etc.  Additionally, Olympia showed us that the market has an appetite for a fuller figured character as well, so you'll see us exploring that mre in the very near future.

For me, I think that Eva is one of the most beautiful characters we've ever put out (Eva, Olympia, and Lilith are my person favorites).  But the need for more day-to-day clothing is definitely not falling on deaf ears.  Enjoy the free outfit, and more to come.  Thanks all for your support!!

I just recently bought the pc membership but with the crappy sales of late and seeing no asian type models for G3 yet beginning to think that it wasn't such a wise option to subscribe even with the extra discount not worth it if there's nothing you want with it being mostly skank wear.

  • ToyenToyen Posts: 2,029

    I agree with Steve.

Eva is one of the best looking white girls ever released!

Can´t wait to see whats next and I´m wishing the males will arrive soon.

Is it me, or does Eva look like a more realistic Ninive?

And we're not getting them ever again, according to what a few PA's said outside of these forums. Instead, DAZ is letting them create builders for users to make thier own male counterparts.

But don't worry, from the way it looked in the top sellers lists, I'm willing to bet we'll see Gianni and Lee-type characters for sure.

You've said some good stuff (and have good taste in figures) but what you missed is that:

    A. We can have "black" people that aren't from Africa, or voodoo doctors. Like Black Americans.
    B. It takes way too long for them to come out because you spam a bunch of light skinned girls of different shapes first.

I agree Lilith and Olympia are super awesome, but lets not wait till the end of the product life cycle for some brown folks.

(Anyone know who was the Mayan? I must have missed that)
