I will admit I like the Disco designs. They're different Been trying to find a mix between Kelvin, Disco and TOS to make a design for my story.
Thanks. I am still trying to find my look. That redress of the O'bannon I was trying to make similar to the Franklin's look. But I have an idea or two for making a Bridge for a Discoesque FID until we see what the Enterprise Bridge looks like in Season 2. But I there is something about the new look I like. Still love the original designs, but the new look has grown on me too
A Test render for a scene using the Billboard figures.
Love the Models released by Vanishing Point
Me, too! Though I'm still holding out for the Shenzhou.
Boldly Go
Here's a fun kitbash I just threw together...
She's a Free Worlds ship. According to FASA lore, the Alliance of Free Worlds (aka Baker's Dozen) is located between Federation, Klingon, and Romulan Space, with dozens of worlds contained within this neutral space. The AOFW has 12 member worlds, with a 13th World considering admission.
As the AOFW needs to defend itself from incursions, well they scrape together whatever they can. The Hanger pods were acquired as a result of a cross-dimensional accident...
Her name (Alliance) is a nod to her Federation Donor ship as well as an apt name for the flagship of the AOFW. She fromerly served in the Federation fleet under the registry NCC 2113 Alliance, a Federation Class Dreadnought. The AOFW recovered her saucer section from the scrap heap....
Much speculation has been made about what happened to the Alliance's original secondary hull... well I KNOW but that's a completely different kitbash...
This kitbash (of four different models, including the Ares tail section) was done almost entirely in Daz Studio, with the exception of the clamshell doors on the central shuttle bay, which I sent into Hexagon real quick. I needed to add some thickness to the primitive sphere I used, after I made some geometry deletions to said sphere into 'pie sections' in Daz Studio.
I used Photoshop for the AOFW logo textures and FWS Alliance tags, and of course a small amount of post work (weird lighting issue).
Anyways, enough silliness for now. Enjoy!
edit: Fixed a typo in the image
some kirk action
May I be a little semi- off topic for a second? Since I watched Star Trek TOS first season as a kid, I still love today to wear shirts, that are slightly to short on my waist and my wrists as the star fleet uniforms used to be . ????????????????????????????????????
Quick question. which starship bridge is VanishingPoint's Starship Bridge XT 2 bridge suppsoed to represent?
A Next Gen style version of the JJ Prise bridge I thought
Looks like you used some parts from the Battlestar Galatica, too.
i take it that foundation3d is not really fuctional? i can't get my login to work and a password reset is non functional. There is such great stuff there but i can't get at it.
I've worked out the only way I can log in is through the forums page. The direct "My Account" login fails because part of the text entry box at the top isn't being drawn properly on the login page. I think it's a Flash glitch.
And the whole site is still glacially slow, but it does actually work.
ok guys one of the things that always bothered me about the phaser rifle is that it dosent match the look of the other tools , until now
one more time
Nice rifle
it is finnished
i never likes the plastic snow shovel handel that was meant to be the rifle butt so i invented my own
Looking damn good!
Just a farm boy from Iowa:
https://metv.com/stories/check-out-the-new-james-t-kirk-statue-in-the-iowa-town-sanctioned-as-the-captains-birthplace
People just don't look the same in Bronze... Sometimes they are a close match, but I'm personally not quite seeing Bill in this one...
Nonteheless, props to the city of Riverside Iowa for the nod. I'm sure that the Star Trek fans will add this one to their bucket list!
https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2081
Me either the face looks to round but it's nice that the city of Riverside did this
And at least it doesn't look near as bad as that abomination from the Lucy debacle
Looks to me like the back of the head is wider than the front. Or at least the hair is too wide. Other than that it looks pretty close.
This makes me wonder if you could get decent results using FaceGen, then tweaking it in Daz, then 3D printing your figure to make the master for the Bronze mold. Sure, there's some artistic licence with any artist, but SURELY some of the celebrity lookalike masters here could have come up with a closer likeness...
Hmmm, testing something real quick. MRL Elena is a rather close likeness of Scarlett Johannsen. If I used a Bronze shader...
Setting aside the clothing issues for a sec, i.e. jacket collar, etc. should be flat against the body for a statue...
Hmmm... not quite seeing it, but I feel like this is closer likenes than the Kirk statue anywayus... Obviously, losing the face coloration tends to take some character out of the face.
Anyways, this might be a new line of work for some enterprising Daz artist, i.e. making masters for celebrity bronze statues... I wouldn't be surprised if we have a few of those already!
In any case, it's still cool that Riverside Iowa did the Kirk tribute!
So have we hit the tipping point yet for the new forum topic?
Hi.
I don't know if anyone can help, but I'm after a model of the Yamato (the Sister ship to the Enterprise D). I know there are models of the D out there, but I didn't know if there would be one of the Yamato floating around somewhere. I expect a model of the D could have her registry altered, but I wouldn't know where to begin (plus, the person who uploaded the Enterprise D, might not want their model changed /edited in such a way).
Thanks for any help and, I'm sorry if the post is off-topic.
You can download and use a file made for StarTrek Bridgecommander... a Yamato mesh (Galaxy class starship) with associated textures....
Download and install software
http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope
Download and unzip mesh/texture for USS Yamato from Gamefront (might have to register)
https://www.gamefront.com/games/bridge-commander/file/uss-yamato
From Nifscope:
Import file
\yamato\data\models\ships\yamato\Galaxy.Nif
Export file as obj
USSYAMATO.obj
Copy all texture files "\yamato\data\models\ships\yamato\high" to same directory as your new mesh "USSYAMATO"
Start Poser and import obj USSYAMATO
You may need to reassign the materials (TGA) files manually....but it works if you don't want to create your own...

Budding Romance
Speaking of finding starships. Does anyone know where I can find a good New Orleans-class model?
Edit: I found what I was looking for, and one or two others to boot. Thanks, rschulte
