Just finished my own conversion of the Phobos; available on my deviantart page:  http://nightwolf1982.deviantart.com/

Thank you very much :-) Link posted to list too.

  • Just out of curiousity has no one made a denobulan morph (Dr Phlox)? I've searched the list and various other places and cant find one anywhere. I'm surprised no one's done one yet. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places...

  • Haven't seen one

Would be cool to have way beyond my capabilities

Just googles Denobulans for a memory refresh, they are surprising similar to Cardassians.

A skin texture with displacement maps could probably get close to the look.

    A question for all you wondeful people;

I've created several species morphs for the Genesis figures ( Bajoran, Rigielian, Undine, Tellerite, Kobali, still working on Ferengi and Benzite), the V4 ones never worked for me so I made my own.

How can I convert these into a form I can share with others and does anyone have idea for how to make a Vorta?

    Thanks

    File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Asset

In the option dialogue set the Author field to your name as you want it to appear, give it a product name (StarTrekraces perhaps). The fiels will then be in \Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\Authorname\ProductName\

In watching through a series of old Trek shows I noticed something; all the shots for the men were "sharp"; all the shots for the women were "soft". For what it's worth these days.

Yep; and in 'Mudd's Women', they took the vaseline off the lens when the Venus Drug wore off so that the women looked more 'ordinary'.  They also used soft focus on Shatner in the "Enemy Within" episode, with soft focus on the non-aggressive 'good' Kirk and hard focus (and harsher lighting, just to make sure) on the 'evil' Kirk.

Was wondering how they did that with Mudd's women, thanks.

It's amazing the number of "minor" details one notices after starting into 3D stuff.

There's one episode showing Chekov at his station either having an out-of-body experience ... or 'tis one of the worse film edits/touch ups ever.

  • My attempt at a Denobulan. Texture is Mylochka's vulcan male as a base. I know the eyebrows are crappy but it's the best that I can do at the moment.

The ridges and the chin look amazing. If you look on DA there are a lot of free eyebrow brushes for free that might be able to help you out.

Very nice. This is one I attempted a while back using M3 as the base

The morph is for Genesis 1. I used Sculptris to make the morph. I could've probably done a better job on the eyebrows but I was looking for something quick so I could at least do a render. Any suggestions on which hair might be appropriate?

I would say anything with a receading hair line would work or a bald morph, maybe something tha has a seperate morph for the bangs? I mean I have a serious 5 head with my widows peak ... but DAMN!!!! That is a serious 6 head there!

My first thought, heads have numbers?!! okay ...

in here to mention for those "new" to D/S that there is some additional free content that can be had via the free tutorials:

    http://www.daz3d.com/resources-and-add-ons   ; Sort by 'price low-high'

    .....

And a reminder to back up any D/S program AND plugin products from the Product Library before 4.9 goes live ;-)

Also ... [and no I don't get commission] ... if you're planning to get a "new" plugin for 4.8 recent edition, buy it and download it BEFORE 4.9 goes live. Even plugins that were created for previous editions somehow get their installers updated and a purchase today will not work on a program of yesterday even though we all figured it should. However, once a plugin is purchased, it gets automatically updated if/when necessary so a purchase for today will cover one for the versions that are yet to come ... at least until something else changes .... one cannot download previous edition programs or plugins of the same main number. i.e. one can download their latest edtion of 2, 3 or 4 IF they had purchased any of those in the first place of course.

4.9 isn't going to break anything from 4.8 (bugs aside). All content currently available will continue to be available through DIM, and will be usuable in 4.9 as in 4.8.

I thought you had one time. Thought it had been made available but I couldnt find it anywhere. I went back and tweaked the eyebrows (basically lifted them from one of Levius' photo packages I had from ages ago). Hopefully it looks better. I tried painting them and I still havent got the nack for it. And this would be my umpteenth time at trying to paint them.

  • Oh I see. I decided to do one after I was going thru my aliens and noticed that one was missing. Probably no interest in my version either.

    David

  • Always interested in aliens after all space would be boring without'em

  • Well as long as Mylochka doesnt have a problem with the altered head texture being shared.

I know, that isn't the issue I was addressing. I've purchased a plugin once only to discover that even though it has been made was advertized to work with a certain edition, which I was using, no it wouldn't install because it was looking for the most recent edition of D/S which was not onboard. Company returned the money but I would rather have had a working plugin ... maybe one day I'll be all up-to-date and try again. The installers for the plugins have to have matching numbers for the editions they work on. Oh it would be so nice if everything was as simple as .jpgs and .png files which open in most programs ... but that would be dreaming lol ...

  • I get what you're saying, patience.  It's a prolem with any software, updating can wreak havoc with add-ons and plugins.

Sure is ... somebody else updated their video drivers and lost Hexagon. Another, well it was something with M$ updates ... but you know ... sometimes we just need to go out and get a new computer. THAT's what is on my 'wishlist'. :-)

Mystery Time. I need a runabout in my next story. I've had this one in my Runtime for so long, I don't have the original zip file or readme. Does anyone recognise it?
