help please im in need of a texture for m4 based on a photo . anyone that might be skilled in photoshop and can help please pm me
I need help ASAP. I stopped this render as soon as I saw what was happening. Deanna and Dr.Crusher both are V4 based. Dr.Crusher is fine, but what the &(*&* is happening to Deanna?? This is the second Deanna I've loaded in this scene. The first one had a problem- but not this.
Edit: Got it! Had to turn off "cast shadows" on her hair and enervything in her head- including her head. Eyes, jaw, teeth tongue- all had "cast shadows" turned on.

Here's a texture which you might find useful.
That's for Dr. Who!
That's an interesting site ... also has one for V4 ... and Bluto it has a "Specimen 23 for V4" which may be of interest as I recall you'd been asking for something similar although not on a figure. It's a conforming head item so it should work alone as well.

... getting very tired of not getting notifications. Seriously pondering just giving up on these forums. Every new iteration so far has made things worse, the dark theme is still missing and the white background gives me a bloody headache...
Have you bookmarked?
bookmarked, bookmarked again and still waiting for the DAZ crew to finally get things right, which includes a dark theme.
Did you set your Notification Preferences?
These are great! Thanks for converting them!
set my what?
I always got notification before in my email, which suddenly stopped working.
Gear icon in upper right > click your name, gear icon on the probile page > Edit Profile > Notification Preferences
I believe that by default email is unchecked.
Hello, it has been a while since I have been on the thread, but I have started working on Forrestal again. Trying to get the story how I want it to go before I do the panels including some major rewrites. Here is the latest samples of what I got including a WIP image of the Khambatta's Engine Room Still redressing to look as much as a TMP Era Engine Room as possible.
That was checked... and still is.
You do know there is a TMP engine room model available, right?

For the Khambatta herself, I thought that her Engine Room should be a little different from the Enterprise or other ships of that Era given that a lot of her stuff was considered testbed for what would be used for later starships. Loved the look of the TOS inspired Engine Room that Rduda had made and thought it would help Khambatta stand apart from her more famous sisters.
Okay. Sounds good.
I've been trying this, seems to work well.

Awesome :-) Thank you both :-)
Links posted too ;-)
Got some texture stretching on the pool table, but looks a lot like what I'd originally tried to do with a redress of the Enterprise D Engine Room a while back to make it look like the ST V and VI redress. I like your pages and progress though! Keep it coming!
The angle of the last rendering did not look the best for the table, but here it is from a better angle. I am still going to change it some more.
Well I'm back from holiday, and getting back into the swing of rendering. Picked up my free update of Reality and started up on renders for my next graphic novel. I figured everyone one else is useing Iray and since my system is geared toward Luxrender, I'd share what it's putting out.

Nice work
Saw a side by comparison on RDNA and the Reality render looked better in much less time than the Iray render IMHO
Just to make sure this thread doesn't go off on a tangent both Iray and Luxrender have their mega-hits and epic failures. It all depends and varies from person to person and computer to computer. My choice just happens to be Luxrender, but then I've been using it for years, I know it, I get. This attached file is an Iray image (not sure I posted it here before or not...sorry if its a duplicate) This was just to show Mylochka you can render more than two or three people in an Iray scene, well, because that's all anyone ever does. I won't go into length of time rendered, due to, it's no longer about time but quality for me.

Cool render. My question is Iray a Studio only thing? I use Carrara to setup my renders. Would I be able to use Lux or Iray in Carrara?
David
admiral-horton has released another .obj conversion: http://admiral-horton.deviantart.com/art/USS-Daedalus-CS-10-563305465
I'm not aware of a plugin for Iray. That plugin comes free in with D/S these days.
For Lux: http://www.daz3d.com/luxus-for-carrara
I did some digging and Iray is not available yet, nor does there seem it will be coming anytime soone to Carrara
Decided to make sure my lighting was ok in the Ready Room after I decorated it a bit. Been kind of out of it for a number of weeks due to medical and gaming reasons. Star Wars The Old Republic and Destiny are a bit of a time sink. ;)
I wrote up a little tutorial in response to a few posters' questions ... but thought I would mention it here too because with D/S [can create spheres with it too] one can make rigged planets with atmospheres and similar such items relatively easily. I would suggest using Hexagon or another modeler though to get the spheres so they can be uvmapped appropriately for one's textures.
