    A question if I may;

I'm trying to create a uniform texture based off the MFD so I can use it for V4 through V7 (when her version of it comes out).

Is there an equvilant outfit that I can use for males?

    Thanks

There is the Defiant set for Genesis, which is unisex. The different MFD will fit the male characters, but you'll get the shrinkwrapped effect and distortion at the breasts.

  • Hello everyone.  It's been quite awhile since I posted here, and it is because I have been very busy.  I have finally finished a live action Star Trek film, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

It is called Star Trek: "Eye of the Tempest" and features crew from the USS Saladin and the USS Antyllus.  I hope that you enjoy the movie.

    Sincerely,

    Ken

I like that set too. Made a little tutorial for making a "top" from the "tunic" as well.  Forum link

    Something to watch tonight, thanks!

And I've started a post [hate to leave those things empty] on the list for "movies" :-)

A little surprise for folks: 1701-E corridor sections. The original file was created by Chris T. in Sketch-up and he gave me permission to share my objs. They're not perfect- the deck needs attention- but otherwise, they're good to go:

edit: a little OT 'cept if you're looking for my stuff. I wanted to clean out the older photos over at DA 'cause ... and found out that STILL no, it can only be done "1 x 1" OR by deactivating one's account. So I did. After the renovations etc 'round here are done I'll contemplate getting a shorter handle for DA. The most recent tutorial is still available as I've got it hosted now over at Dropbox.com. One does NOT have to sign up to download, just "x" out the offer and click "download" ;-)

Hello PDSmith Sorry about the Links, I closed my old devient art account and have reopened as gmd3d instead of Taranis or Taranis69, a username I had no liking for. :)

The Romulan bridges linked are in fact mine and not Fretslayer's aka Dan Baran (RIP) for a fan film we where working on along an orginal film project and I shared with you,
The model is not on general release and should not be shared without first asking me! but as I know mdbruffy's work sharing is cool as I have long admired his Star Trek work, both as Taranis69 and gmd3d :) if he wants to use it, its cool with me.

One of the reasons I have never released it publicly is:
1: I never finished it due to the passing of Dan Baran on 14 July 2013, Dan was working on computer screen controls as he was a better texturer than I was, and seeing as I was building all the sets and most of the models to be used in the project..
2: I have a small hope the fan film could be produced someday in the future as an animated story or perhaps a 3d comic.

I will share the design here myself to show it last state at my hands :) before I shared it with you PDSmith, have you done anything with it?? I would love to see it if you have.

If your interested in the story idea we where developing (Dan and I) you can read a short treatment on my blog: Star Trek The Armageddon Clock

More or less successfully converted the "J.J.Shuttlecraft" by A.Klemm (Nightfever). The readme says something about conversions so I read this that it is okay to make and redistribute conversions. It is a D/S .duf file now. I changed the mesh as little as possible. I did not remake the entire hull and yes the uvmaps overlap, etc. Hexagon does not read well models made in all programs. Indeed, this model's .obj file [from Cinema 4D R15] crashed Hexagon anytime one tried to touch it. Washing it through D/S did not help. But I did find a program that could read it and export out then a different .obj file that Hexagon could read. It's a nice model with lots of room inside to put chairs and furniture. I use shaders to texture ships so hopefully others might too and then the overlapping hull uvmaps won't matter so much ;-) I have noticed of the RL spacecraft that they neither flag nor title carry. You get to guess whose side they're on ... funsville. Mind you the super noisy ones are made by man 'cause boy he likes noisey toys. Stealth ... something to consider.

My "new" handle on DA is the modeling handle so should work for people to find my stuff: Catherine3678a

  • I have a question for everyone. At one time, we used to have a TNG Holodeck Arch listed on the mega list, but unless I've missed it, it's no longer there. I've even check previous lists, and I did find it there, but the link doesn't work to Renderosity. Does any body know if there's any place else where I might find it, or if they'd be willing to share? My external hard drive crashed, about a month ago, with all my content zips on it, including this one, and I'd really like to replace it, if possible.

    Great, thanks, added to list.

Yes a lot of ST stuff seems to "come and go" from various sites for various reasons. There's another too but don't recall where it is I found it; basically a box with grid paper on it.

Thank you!  I'm glad you enjoyed it!  Took me a year to complete it, and it was a ton of work!  Always nice to hear that it resonated with someone.  There are more planned and I still have my 3d film to finish as well.  I thought it would be easier to do a live action, and in a way it was, but it still took quite awhile to finish.

    Sincerely,

    Ken :)

Have no idea yet whether or not this will be finished successfully but so far doing much better with it. It's a remake for a rec room for which the converted .obj didn't play nice with Hexagon. Curious how the same .obj washed through a different program can make a BIG difference in how or whether Hexagon can work with it. That other program many of us have too as it was also free for some time and that is Bryce.
