Oh god. They've changed the site AGAIN- on top of being signed out- AGAIN.

Yeah Rosity changed their's so I guess Daz figured they needed to as well at least Rosity's isn't glareing white and don't hurt the eyes

Theirs isn't anything to praise either. Their images ar5e all jumbled up instead of going in straight lines.

Hmm not jumbled when I visited just a few minutes ago

Just took a look. They've tightened up the pages since I was there last. The images were up and down and different sizes. They're a little more uniform in size now than they were.

    Looking good

  • I'm back to working on the Shuttlebay complex for the Galaxy class again. I promised myself I wouldn't do much detailing until I actually get it all laid out and then went back on it today after building the padding in Truespace and wanting to see how it imported which then got me thinking about ceiling supports and labeling the bays and so I whipped up a beam that I could import and duplicate but I'm not sure it works. Thinking about dropping that middle part that hangs down entirely or just not having the 'beams' at all.

Honestly, I think you're close to having too much. I'd lose the beams and see how it looks then.

Inclined to agree try it without the beams

I don't know I think the beams add some texsture and looks good. That center area looks like it could be an office area or equipment storage. At the very least it might hold a replicator large enough to reproduce some of the parts needed to repair the shuttles. Love what you have done with this so far and look forward to more updates.

  • Thanks for the input on the beams everyone. I'm doing up a render of it with and then without beams so I had to put in some temporary ceiling lights so you could actually see anything. Who am I kidding, they'll probably end up being permanent ceiling lights just like the temporary ceiling I slotted in will be permanent. :P

Anyway, I'll render it up and post both. I'm kind of thinking the beams are too much, but I could also scale them back. This is a two deck structure so when I'm actually 'shooting on set' most of the action will be on the characters and the shuttles and not necessarily the surrounding shuttlebay, but I would like to get that feeling down right the first time with it.

Two decks or one doesn't really matter. A full "set" is always good- then your camera angles aren't limited to where the set ends.

Definitely. It may be fairly large, but other than the exterior walls of the ship it's a fairly simple build at least. So that's a nice bonus.

Could work for other movie-era ships. We never saw the Excelsior's engine room- and it  was supposed to be more advanced than the re-fit.

Exactly what I was thinking. It'd work for an alternate to the Constitution class as well I'd think.

The Constitution re-fit was what I was suggesting. I think it's a little too advanced for the TOS ship.

That's what I meant. Should have clarified.

Thank you. I don't attempt outfits to this extent very often.
