It also has issues when someone deletes their post. I clicked on an email link and then got told my login was invalid.
It had stopped for a while. But I've been getting it again for the past few days. It's REAL annoying.
I wanted to show you guys what 24 hours of messing with my own version of shuttlebay 2 and 3 has wrought. I'm trying to actually get the proper angle of the hull on here and the screenshots of the ship weren't helping, then I realized I was being an idiot and imported Prologics secondary hull and then scaled it to my set, knocked out the back walls of his shuttlebays on the model, hid the doors, and wallah, instant wall measurement and guide. I've got the shuttle maintenance area prety much blocked out and did a render of it last night. It is NOT detailed by any means at the moment. I'm going to do something similiar to the wall paneling we saw for 7 years on TNG in the entire shuttlebay with some slight modifications. There's also not going to be a second level to this shuttlebay, except for the 'conn tower' that's going to be nestled between the two bays and overlooking them. No stand up pedestals to control the tractor beams which I'm going to mount in the ceiling. I may not even model them at this point. I just thought having the control pedestals on the floor along with the tractor beams was an incredible waste of floor space when you have an above ground control room and computer controls.
Oh, and yes, those people who were nitpicking off the trek boards were right, you should have been able to see the warp macelles from the shuttlebays in EVERY shot looking out of the ship throughout the entirety of TNG. They are monstrous and no matter where you put the camera one of them is in view at all times. So that'll be something to consider when I finalize this. Maybe I'll just build over-size nacelles that sit back there?
I think I've earned some Scream and SWTOR and I'll pick this back up tomorrow.
You might consider doing things like I did. I built the set, then applied a render of the nacelles to he background.
Hmm... a big back drop like I have hanging in back of the observation lounge might work as well. I'll have to toy with that when the actual shuttlebay is finished.
Also, have we ever seen them use any kind of tools on the shuttle or runabouts? I was thinking a few wall kits in the maintenance area would be called for.
The only time I've ever seen amyone working on a shuttlecraft, is after it's crash- landed. I don't remember ever seeing any hanger-based servicing.
Some well placed tool kit storage boxes on the walls should do it then I think. I don't know I want to get that in depth with it just yet.
They didn't on the series.
I am beside myself. I was working on wrecking mdbruffy's torpedo room to set it up in the aftermath of the Wrath of Khan attack. I saved it. The tumbnail looks absolutely fine. When I load it up it looks like the attached image. It looks like Daz took every piece and ripped them into the center of the room. I just... anyway to fix this or am I starting over at this point?
Since I've never used Daz, I don't know what to tell you. When I released my space dock. folks loaded the scene file and the docking arms did the same thing. Could your file have gotten corrupted somehow? Have you tried loading the original scene file since this happened?
It loaded up your poser file just fine. It's just my saved edit file that's freaking out. I"m going to try saving the poser file out as a daz file and reloading it. I might just need to manually edit all the groupings or something.
EDIT: I loaded my save file up and it looks fine. Everything is where it's supposed to be. I don't know what did that to the room. Looks like I'll just have to loadup my edits from the other file.
I have not figured out all the hows/why/etc but sometimes when one edits the shading domains/groups/etc in D/S, even if exporting out a new .cr2 file for example, the changes do NOT take. A new .obj has to be exported out and the [in one case anyway it was for a .cr2 file] file re-created from scratch.
Thank you both, link is added under Characters. :-)
You're welcome.
I think I figured out the problem with the torpedo bay. For some reason I saved it as a scene subset instead of a scene. The scene continues to load properly while the subset is the screwed up one. Good to know.
EDIT: Also, if I load my save Torpedo room scene and then import the subset, the damaged room loads fine..... My brain hurts.
You use DAZ every time you visit the site, as DAZ 3D is the name of the Company Daz Studio is the name of the program you mean, or DS. just saying
I managed to load in the battle damaged exterior hull with the wrecked torp bay. I need to add more debris and charred scoring from the explosion. I used screenshots to try and model the damage from Khan's phaser hits in the Nebula battle as best I could. Didn't turn out too bad at least from the interior anyway. I basically made a blank shape tracing the exterior of Kirk's E and then ripped the damage through it and then scaled it in Daz based around the placement and size of the airlock doors in the set and assumed there's an airlock chamber between the exterior door and the interior one. Obviously still wip.
I really love your set for this mdbruffy. One of the easiest to modify I've had to play with and once I figured out my loading issue, far elss crying over it. ;)
There is a vendor at Renderosity named BadKittehCo that makes a coverall set for M4 (ToolBoi Winter) & V4 (WelderGirl). They look really nice, have folds and details plus morphs for opening/undressing. With some texture work, they'd make decent TOS-era utility coveralls. Thought I'd give everyone a heads up in case they haven't seen them.
Thanks for the heads up Tim.
Agreed Tim, Connie makes great stuff with lots of morphs.
The Apteromata set that was in the store here was of her making too, which was a great set for steampunk art. She's easy to work with too. ;)
Glad you got it working for you.
Are there any textures for the NG Dress whites? I didn't see any in the list that I recognized as such.
There is a set by Reggie that was done for Couragous or Valiant over at ShareCG, I thought I remembered seeing it in the freebies somewhere.
EDIT: Found it it is for both V4 Couragous and M4 Valiant outfits. Hope this helps

I found the TV versions on the list, but I didn't see the dress whites. I'll look again.
Edit: There is a variation of the dress whites there, but you need the files for two other uniforms to make them work and they don't have the color insert down the front.
Found it it is for both V4 Couragous and M4 Valiant outfits. Hope this helps. Looks like you might have to do a little post for the inserts and you can easily change the pants to black to make this work.

That's the one I found. But the cut of the jacket isn't right.
OK I see what you are wanting now, Not sure since I am not looking at the templates right now but you might be able to redo the transmaps on the top to make it look more in line with what you are looking for.
I'm just going to try to make new ones. They'll be for M4 Valiant and V3 Daz tunic.
Good luck with that Maddison. I have my hands full of learning Studio right now. I have given up on Poser for the time being. I am tired of all the crashing issues and the lack of support for new figures. Not interested in G3/V7 but I am really liking G2f/m.
Poser 9 is turning out to be VERY stable- at least on my system- more so than any other version I've tried. Like you I have little intrest or need for Genesis. I'm just now getting into V4/M4- and then the only reason is that's who the head morphs I need are for.
