The crew's chair for the 1701-E Bridge. It took 14 pieces - 7 of which were made in Sketch-up 8. These are not the chairs scatha's working on. theses are for everyone else on the bridge.
Will sone one either delete this post or find someway to shut the stupid thing if we hit it by accident or change our minds?
Since I'm planning on using the Galaxy Class bridge at some point, I realized I needed a fix for the tactical console, so after hours of scouring the net for decent images of the console and screwing around in photoshop, I present to you a fix for the tactical console graphic for VP Bridge 8. If anyone wants it I'm willing to share.
It figures thought I did all this and I'm seriously just considering buying the Yamamoto variant bridge. :P
You came out a lot better than I did. I finally decided to just avoid showing the screens if I didn't have to.
It's really intresting. I noticed this when I did my TMP cabin set. I had problems with the chairs in that one. The over-all set was good, but Ptrope came in and made a far better chair and replacing that one piece raised the entire set to a new level. I'm seeing that with the "E"s bridge. Just by adding my crew chairs- and even with the old "D" chairs a place markers, they raise the model to a new level.
I also don't understand the reasoning behind the added stations. This seems- to me anyway- to imply that the "E" isn't as stream-lined in her functions as the "D" was.
I had folks asking for the 1701-E Turbo Lift, so I've posted it along with the color samples and textures to turn the 1701-E crew quarters into Guest quarters:

Thank you :-) Link added.
You're welcome.
Thanks
You're welcome.
Temporary "Christmas 2015" items available at R.
Of possible interest for the ST crew would be the free HAIR!!! [can never have too many hairs lol ...]
Prae CrewCut Hair for for V4, with fits for Michael 4, Hiro 4, Aiko 4, Genesis 1 and 2 as well as Victoria 6 and Michael 6.
The Page, just click on the pictures ;-)
Well if we do not "submit" it by accident, we can now leave the thread, return to the main forum or whatever [have to get the personal stuff dialogue box to refresh], then we will find a "Drafts".
Click on that and then any "x" to delete stored drafts. That does ask for a confirm so we do not accidentally delete a draft we did not ask for in the first place. [smile]
Okay.
The only thing I can figure- and it has nothing to do with story- is that they must have figured since the movie screen presents a larger picture, they needed more movement on the bridge- so they added stations just to fill up the screen.
Last night I finally started to work on the first panels Khambatta Book 1, it's actually exciting to know that this is finally coming together. I wanted to share what I made for the opening scenes of the story Along with a glimpse of the refitted U.S.S. Enterprise as she looks in the Khambatta-verse.
That cabin's looking great!
Oh wow. That cabin looks amazing. And the set-up you're using for the Phase II Prise and the combination of the refit and phase II hull really works for me.
All of these renders are truly fantastic! I especially love the Enterprise in this one.
All looks good; as others have mentioned the cabin and ship look great, but I especially like the look and feel of the characters, they have a very distinctive style to them. I'm surprised that even the toon kitty (Scratch?) seems to fit in nicely. Well done.

So while I like the design for the Enterprise D bridge, I needed it to be a Galaxy class, but not have the exact same feel, then I came across a picture of the Defiant bridge from later seasons of Deep Space Nine and since this Galaxy I'm going to drop in is built just before the war with the Dominion I figured why not. So I sampled all the colors from this picture of Sisko I found looking smug on the Defiant and plasterd the colors all over the VP version of the bridge and rendered it and I do like the colors but it looked bland so I went in and finally downloaded Daz 4.8 with the Iray render option and got the second image trying to just use the consoles and light fixtures to light the bridge and meh. Looked up a tutorial on how to actually light with Iray and realized the second picture was because the camera defaults to having a light on, so essentially the second picture is what you'd get if you walked on set and snapped a flash photograph. Ok, that I can kind of live with I guess, but not the desired effect. I followed the tutorial steps and converted it over, adjusted my light settings so they were cranked up properly and tossed in one of my cast leads still in her motion picture duds and did another render and that third one is just the set lights alone lighting up everything on the bridge. No external lighting at all and I really love the look. The HUGE downside to Iray on my machine is that instead of a render taking maybe 15 minutes with a lightrig set up, the Iray render can take well over two hours easily. I'm thinking the results are more that worth it though.
Granted, I usually render in a much smaller size at maybe 1600x900 which I'm sure would cut down that render time.
I rather like that color scheme...
Thanks everyone. I wanted to share the first few pages of my story. Just to give an idea of what I am working on. I know that some of the dialogue might need some polishing and I am still getting it all together, but I did want to give a preview of some of the 1st chapter of my story.
Counting the cover as Page 1, On Page 10 and 12, your characters look a little stretched. Otherwise, this is looking good.
Looks good. One slight niggle — some of the text in speech bubbles on the same page are different sizes. To me, that gives the impression of jumping between shouting and whispering.
Has anyone done up or found online a 3D model for the Talarian Warship?
I really want to use one, but my searches have turned up pretty much zilch. I'm guessing I'm going to have to go and build one. Probably start with a Star Destroyer like they did for the physical model and go from there. Granted then it can be 'redressed' much like they did throughout TNG for anyone who wants 'generic ship of the week' for their renders. ;)
Ashe5k, if you are ok with converting models I think there are some for several games, Bridge Commander and there is one in the Armada 3 mod for Sins of a Solar Empire. I think there is also one for Sketchup.
I didn't see one for Sketchup when I did a google search. Now that you mention the games of course I find a few. I'll take a look at them, but I might end up modeling it anyway depending on the detail level. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
I MAY be going a bit overboard for this. I'm planning on building one that uses mdbruffy's TMP corridor kit as well though. At least I'll have pre-built corridors ready to go wherever though, right? I'm kind of frankenstein-ing most of this together as I go which means hitting p some of the sketchups I've found as a base and knocking the rust off my modeling skills for the rest.
Some stuff I'm working and helping with.
