I don't think that's what's happening here shadow. From what I read, there's some question or issue that's been raised about specific links that none of us are privy to. Catherine is protecting the thread by removing those links until whatever that issue is has been resolved.

Moderator response can be difficult to predict. Some might only remove offending links and issue a statement or warning, while others very likely would shut down the thread, or remove the entire thing.

I do think Catherine's initial response could have been handled better, as I don't think shadow's intention was to cause trouble.

I can see that and my initial response was such simply because of the timing with regards to some PMs that neither party claim awareness of ... so yes my response was such as I believed they were.

    Peace.

I kept trying the link in the last e-bot notice I received and I kept getting "Page not Found". I had to track the fourm down by coming to the site and wading through the various stages till I finally found it listed. I missed several posts during this maintenace thing. So I'm assuming we have to post something in oder to get back in the swing of things.

Another reboot that's not doing so great. I'm hoping this will result in enrolling me in the thread again, because threre's nothing in this "Leave a commant" window to mark or check.

    Wow!  New Forum :-)

  • mdbruffymdbruffy Posts: 2,345

And no e-bot notice that you posted. Good thing I came back to check.  :-(

  • patience55patience55 Posts: 7,006

Oh this is going to be fun.

okay ... so everybody is officially hereby notified, "no disrespect intended towards ANY of the concerned parties and their requests", certain posts cannot be edited at this time and that super duper long list well, I think this new forum may have a more limited scope. So until something major better happens, considered them archived.

They have a better one! Up in the top right corner just under our blue people icon thing, there's a tool icon. Click on that and there's a link for notifications!

And to get a paragraph going in a typing box with a quote, one hover the mouse over the right side of it and a red arrow thing appears for to click on as to where to insert the paragraph.

And no e-bot notice that you posted. Good thing I came back to check.  :-(

I looked at that and I still don't see anything there that says it will send notices to my e-mail. Just that I don't have any notifications. I also don't understand this new "quote" function. I clicked on it, but there was no place to type my reply to your quote.

Why fix something that wasn't broke??

Edit: Finally found the options but they weren't clear to me. What's this "Wall" business? and I didn't see any option for getting notices when someone posts to the forum- just to your post.

New ship for the collection, Gruaro's Klingon D5 (raptor)

  • It took me a while to find this thread. And I had just gotten used to the old format...

Anyway, here's a quick render I have for a concept I might start fleshing out at some point.

What a lovely mess they have handed us

If the name that you used to create a gallery is different from the name that you used for a forum name, then the Gallery name will show now in both places.

You can now edit your own user name again in   Your Account

    {posting in place or not}

    Or it didn't ... ???

This editing box follows one to whichever page one is viewing, and appears to "be" on the page one is viewing rather than in place.

However it is also here in place?

Why am I gettng a headache?

This board is surely giving me one, that's for certain ...

A thought occurred to me, instead of trying to morph the head of a figure to get a decent klingon morph, why not create a smart prop that attaches to the head of the figure?

It would solve the issue with not having enough polys to work with, since you can easily add more...?

I like this idea ... one that has enough polys to morph into different people too so every Klingon can have their own individual look.

Page length testing space. Test completed.

The link posts will have to be edited shorter so "official notice", I will re-sorting that list.

Edit: Then again, no I won't ... now the option to Edit tool gadget is gone. Just on that post ... maybe somebody is fixing it????

Edit2: Edit gadget came back ... okay ... so emptied post, pasted in sorted list and nope. Got another error message.

On the bright side, that funky little 4 arrow gadget beside "source" expands this ridiculously small typing box to full size.

Indeed, but my skills in modelling do not go that far... so we're going to need someone that can.

I think someone was but don't remember who

    Hate this new forum

  • patience55patience55 Posts: 7,006

Be careful what is in these type boxes, cancel is not clearing them. And from page to page could make for some rather odd posts.

    "source" ... egaads ... coding!!!!

If it's going to be this much trouble to figure out how to edit a link list, I can see the death of link lists across the entire forums. This is ridiculous.

VALIDATE format ... using widgit to create, well didn't it create it. using copy from Word, oh yes, browser have to copy it again, np, everything looks fine "again" ... but nope, VALIDATE format ...

Think it's about time to go walk about.

    Chohole-

I don't have a gallery here at Daz. The only user name I have is the one I've always used. And I still had to go to my account and delete that mess at the end of it.

Also, I am still not receiving any e-bot notices despite the fact that all the options under notifications are checked.

Jezzzes I hate upgrades- especially when they weren't needed.

  • patience55patience55 Posts: 7,006

Might be a blessing ... my notifications just blossomed with all kinds of previously deleted messages from the last forum. Let's not PM each other until they get that fixed ;-)

Anyone know where I can find a good model of the 1701-E's corridor?

I know of a couple; one on Google Sketchup, which PDSmith had a Daz or Poser conversion briefly on his deviantart stash. The other one is a Lightwave section on Foundation3d.

I tried Shetch-up. All the models convert in such a way that half their structure doesn't show up till they're rendered. How do you set up a scene if you can't see what you're working with?

    I'll check Foundation 3D. Thanks.

Strange. I've never had that problem before.

These are not models but may have an image or 2 that may be of interest for E.

@ all ... ours is not to question why but what won't work on the link pages here, will work in the fresh post started. I'd hedge a guess that the process of transference "locked" formats or somethings ... I dunno ...

I know some have visual problems that a coloured background can alleviate ... can't do the whole page AFAIK but can do sections of text such as the headers and people's names. Any preferences for or against the use of background colours ... any preference of colour ... or any preference of colour for your own handle(s) ... I put in a few examples which can be changed, nothing written in stone wink

The Name of Link will change eventually

For the names I'm trying Header 3 and "normal" for the text. Is this of suitable size for all or most or anybody?
