A couple of notes/grumbles about the new store page layout:
Also it obscures the DAZ Deals filters. Since I can no longer "show only wishlist" and sort by % off I won't easily find items I want to buy. So, my spending will be greatly reduced.
Oh wait, maybe that is a good thing and I will be saving my money.
To be fair, AWS has been having issues for the past month or so and about 75% of the internet runs on it unfortunately.
AWS is preparing for the internet "crisis" that's coming. BTW, I dislike the new Shop layout, and I don't think it's going to grow on me. All that wasted white space and smaller icons.
I don't like the new layout. With all the images being smaller, it feels much more claustrophobic and I'm looking at this on a 48" TV so that says a lot that I feel cramped looking at it.
Daz forums (not even the Daz Store) is the only place I get these errors. Do you see them on other sites?
How do you search for a particular arttist now? That functionality seems to be taken away
The sorting of artists is by how many things that are for sale. How about changing it to alphabetical? It'll be easier to find something that way.
New thumbnails seem to be smaller. On a 36 inch monitor they are almost OK. On a 13 inch laptop they are dinky small - too small.
The "Shop" pages seem to be formatted for a phone, narrow and tall. This leads to way too much whitespace on sides of the pages. (I would think that most of the users to the website are on computers with landscape orientation and not phones.)
What is good are the icons at the bottom of each thumbnail showing what categories the product is in. (Actually, this is a GREAT improvement.)
I actually have been having some issues at other sites, but none are as frequent as they are here.
Pages loading in from the bottom feels clunky and broken!
Not only do you have to scroll to the bottom to change page, it stays at the bottom when you do, in fact, it forces the page to the very bottom.
the improvements make things worse. the new layout is really bad, especialy the way the next page begins at the bottom. I don;t get it. Leave it alone. It used to work 10 years ago.
I hear they are releasing all future website improvements as NFTs.
One of you lucky money bags will be the sole owner of a fully functional, responsive, and intuitive DAZ store!
Bidding starts at $800.00
Ugh.... surely you can make those thumbnails smaller. I can still barely see them.
Speaking of 'improvements' - it's been several years since I've seen this - can anyone show me what these are? Refresing the page and reloading the browser does nothing (firefox 95.0 on w10 pro).
So these are supposed to be improvements? Removing the search function from the filter by artist part of the store page is not an improvement..
...interesting, as I was just beginning to write a post on the thread, had a bad gateway error pop up.
It would be great if Daz would give the folks who make the DAZ Deals plugin a heads-up when they make changes to the website. The plugin broke due to the update as I understand it making it really hard to navigate the deals. The featured artist page has 107 pages, I am not going to browse through 107 pages to see if there is deal I want without that plug-in.
EDIT: And with the pages loading in from the bottom I gave up after scrolling through 6 pages of the Select Daz Original Stocking Stuffers. This and the annoying cart-popup that needs to be clicked away, and the Daz Deals plugin not working is making shopping really not a good experience. On the verge of painful.
More of Daz's website philosophy...if it ain't broke, break it.
I must admit the removal of the ability to actually type the name of the artist you want in the store search page does seem like a huge step backwards. Removing functionality is rarely a good thing. And sorting non alphabetically is just suicidal considering the number of PA's Daz has.

It just seems to get worse, every time I visit the store. Really really dislike the new layout, for "category pages". Can't type in the artist on the left like we used to, and it just looks......old and dull.
Store is a bit of a pain to try and access on the ipad too.
I've gone from practically living here, to visiting a few times a week.
edit: Also, STILL not getting notifications for any forums I've replied in or starred. And I no longer seem to get the DAZ+ newsletter any longer.
Hey DAZ officials, in case you're reading this! Here's some critical (but hopefully constructive) feedback!
I'm not one to knee-jerk complain every time something changes... but the latest store redesign isn't doing it for me. At all.
First of all it breaks the plug-in. Second of all it seems to be broken all by itself (sorting by "New Arrival" sometimes gives obviously wrong results)
Granted, those bugs are probably going to be fixed sooner or later.
But the new design just isn't great. Now about 25% of my screen is filled with blank, white space when it could be used to show more thumbnails, or larger thumbnails.
I hope the webdesigners will reconsider!
If that is an improvement then I can't wait to see what comes next.
I want the layout and functionality of two years ago back, just sayin...
Even if the Daz Deals guys are able to adapt their plugin to the new web code, as a number of people have pointed out, useful functionality has been lost.
And the 'sort' column at the left of the page takes up too much valuable screen real estate. The dropdown menus should be at the top of the page, not soaking up all of that valuable real estate on the left side of the screen. This store has tens of thousands of products in it, so any space that can be (re)allocated to product thumbnails is a good thing.
I'll probably just continue to show my appreciation by continuing to not spend as much. It's the holidays and I'm appreciating this 'unplanned' reduction in my Daz spending. Other sites want me to spend money with them too!
I wonder what the goal of the latest "improvements" is.
Maybe it is a test to see how much they can annoy people, before the users stop shopping. And in that aspect, I think they are doing a great job.
Great for mobile view the new site
... However, I never browse using my phone; desktop here and i have shedloads of clear space. not impressed.
I somehow don't see this...
as an improvement for my shopping experience.
Changing the design into something smartphone compatible doesn't really work well with PC users...
The Mobile layout should be separate and only sent to mobile screens. This is bad website implementation.
Oh, I didn't realise this new design is mobile optimised. That actually makes me feel a bit better.
Not that this new design is great on desktop/laptop browsers where I do almost all of my shopping and browsing - it very much isn't - but now at least I can see the thinking here.
I hope they will fix it so the mobile version only shows up on mobile devices, I'm pretty sure that's technically possible.
