Melancholia
With his domain steadily shrinking as the humans multiplied, the old woodland god experienced frequent bouts of melancholia. Certain that he surely would pass from this world very soon, he decided that he must once agin enjoy the company of the elves, if there were any who had not gone into the West. Oh, I wish I thought to put in Totte and the butterflies!!!!!! That would have put it over the top.There are two rats - one live running on the stairs and one dead on the floor by the thrower. Yah, nice place that Trinity Atrium (Fallen) - NOT! We are lucky to live in the Internet age, where we can participate in PC Anniversary online.
Edited to add: The lights on the back wall are each Advanced Spotlights set to act as point lights. There are 4 red ones and 4 white ones.

Well, I finally got he new machine up and running, loaded with (most of) the applications I use -- except for Poser; it's about 1800 miles away at the moment.
Anyway, I've run into an issue that I've encountered before, but I cannot for the life of me remember how I resolved it. And I'm kind of hoping one of you good people might have come across it, and know how to fix it.
Two of my newer figures are rendering without any textures at all: and it's not that default 'Genesis gray', either; they are totally white, as in, they're practically glowing.
Can somebody jog my memory and tell me what to tweak on this thing? Is it the lighting, the AO, something completely different?
If not, I'll just have to resort to a rather unsatisfactory prototype render....
UPDATE:
It's not the lighting. I turned them all off, even deleted them all, and the problem persists. Even with the default no-lights illumination that DS does. So it has to be something else.
For what it's worth, the figures involved are Lee 6 (Genesis 2 male) and the DAZ Dragon 3. (V4 renders just fine and dandy.)
That glowing white skin can happen sometimes when you render a surface that uses AOA subsurface shader. Usually saving the scene, closing DAZ Studio, restarting DAZ studio, reloading the scene, and rendering again solves it. It is a known bug.
Yes, i think it's the shaderbrick for some reason creates a bad brick that when loaded by 3Delight is corrupted. Clearing the caches by quitting is the only solution.

(And I just remembered how I dealt with this issue the last time it cropped up, back in the 'Stories' RRRR: I yanked Olympia out of the scene and replaced her with a slightly-modified V4. End of problem!)

Or just change the texture on the character to one that doesn't use AoA Subsurface Shader. Any older M4 or V4 or Genesis texture should be good.

An Opportune Visit
It was a bold mood and Dirk Cormorant was up for it when his wife, Maxine Cardinal Cormorant, sighed to him on afternoon, "Dear, there is one thing we must do before we leave this foul world - dress up like humans and call on the Alexanders,unannounced, of course." With delight he pulled out his old uniform and she her best human-styled finery, and the rest is history. After the Alexanders' initial confusion, the couples found they had much in common, and so began a great friendship and the the founding of the Cormorant Society.
I had a lot of issues with this one, didn't like any of the pulled items, except maybe the hair. I had to make a lot of alterations to the lights and they still looked crappy. Gothiquesque is so old it doesn't have bump maps! The cormorant textures are very black so they don't light at all. When I lightened them in Photshop and applied them I noticed some sloppy modeling and/or mapping on the wings which were not noticible when it was stark black. So I made the body invisible and put him on a headless Genesis body. Hehe. And the Supersuit Cape has hardly any morphs.
