So squinty.
Gordon looks quite similar to Ryker. The chest hair that comes with Gordon looks quite nice. It's hard to tell from promos if it is fibermesh, sbh, or texture
This astounding male character comes with six eye colors, and his fibermesh brows, facial hair, mustache, and chest come with four color options
i do it all the time..it may not be exact exact, but you really cannot tell. sometimes they change the shape though .. not sure why, but for sure adds details. see the 2 renders.
the 1st is G8 male default and the second with Edward 8 HD added.
but the question is do you own Edward as well? as just not using his slider doesn't mean it's not dependent on having it.
If it is the same as with Nida 8 then the coupon should expire on Saturday March 7 at 11:59:59 pm.
I don't see why you would need the base character in order to apply the HD morph on another character.
They are independent morphs.
This way you can add interesting details in combination with the normal map of your other character.
You don't need it as the HD morph will work on any character, BUT sometimes there are specific details that are in the HD morph that will look off with a different skin
i do, but i use them independent a lot
I'm not opposed to a Hugh Jackman lookalike, just wish he made me think of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine or Leopold (or even PT Barnum) rather than Hugh Jackman as Gary Hart.
The other two characters in the pro bundle look like Chris Evans and Henry Cavill, which are not bad things to look like.
I really have to disagree here. I do not think anyone in the Daz universe looks like Henry Cavill. I wish!!!
The profile promos on Gordon kind of look like Cavill to me.
I am almost afraid to post a render, but I am going ahead. Here is the one character that I almost didn't buy, Nicholas. The promo pictures just turned me off. I kept going back to them and decided to take a chance. I am glad I did. I don't think he is someone who runs around with a wide smile, he is a serious guy. The eyes are deeply sunk into his face. The outfit was okay, except for the pants which was missing the one morph I could have used, adjust all or adjust thighs. It looks like the inner seam is splitting on the left leg. The hair had to be expanded for his head, a lot.
That's what I thought too.
i need to get out mroe. i dont know anyone everyone compares daz characters to. they all just look like daz characters to me, and many look like brothers and sisters.
Half or more of the copy on the pro bundle spells his name "Johnathan".
Well, he does look better there, I must admit. But he's in shadow, and those offputting promos (I had to search for a less abrasive adjective) are still too scary for me to disregard. If not for the PC+ free item glitch, I'd use a coupon for him. If, perhaps, you could be bothered to render him in CU, I could justify the extra $6.
Oh, nice, a render with a hand pose without the finger on the trigger unless actually shooting. Finally, a character who knows at least some basics of safe firearm manipulation. Yay!
There are a couple in the G8 that have some likeness to real people. CJ 8 is clearly inspired by Oliva Wild, and Owen8 has some Tom Hardy and Adam Driver in him.
I agree, I can totally see it.
Very nice render.
The pants don't look too good though. Not because of the seam. Because of the shape. It makes the fabric seem softer than it should be.
I feel the same is true for the jacket, but it looks kind of ok even if too soft.
Nicholas looks like a classic bad guy to me but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The world is not made only of handsome people.
Regarding the similarity to Cavill. I saw it at first as well. But it's very little and only if you're squinting a little :).
oh
@xyer0 "If, perhaps, you could be bothered to render him in CU, I could justify the extra $6."
I am not sure what 'CU' is. If you can explain I will try, but will need to set the character up again. I didn't save as a scene file. Or is it 'Close-up?'
@watchdog79 Thank you. I took the time to adjust the right index finger. The pose puts it just off the trigger, ready to go. If I hadn't, I think all my M-16 trainers in the military would come back and yell at me like drill instructors.
@alex86fire Thanks. Other than expanding where poke through happened, I tried to allow the outfit speak for itself. It is not dForce, so the sliders are it. I do have a shader pack of men's suit fabric but it is from the 50s era. Seriously need some up-to-date men's business shaders.

@xyer0 Was that what you wanted?
@memcneil70 Yes, ma'am, thank you very kindly. That does show him in a better light than the dorkish, toonish promos. You're right. He's a dark personality, not a smiling guy.
Cool, I have shut my render computers down for the night. Tomorrow, I will go after the other guys. And hopefully more folks will have a chance to render some as well.
I just spent days trying to dial-spin a rendition of Cavill's Geralt and I can say after having almost made my eyes bleed staring at numerous shots of his facial features that Gordon totally has to be inspired by Henry Cavill. Nose. Jaw. Chin. Profile. Yes.
And now I might have to buy Jonathan just for that. *sigh*
The Soldats is also the name for the secret worldwide crime organization in the anime/manga series NOIR. They are the army of the night and all that. :)
The thing is, for us old timers, there was a time when a new Pro Bundle was a much rarer occasion. There were YEARS between Pro Bundles with the V4 generation and only a handful of big bundles/base characters to begin with. But with Genesis they started coming more often, with one new base character/pro bundle every month or so. It ramped up even more with G2 and the number of characters in the line increased significantly, with the most significat additions being ethnic characters and more toon types, and then pace/character count went up yet again with the G3 lineup. WIth G8, though, DAZ has just gone bonkers and in just two years there have now been more Base characters/Pro Bundles for G8 than for all of the other generations combined. It's just... weird, but clearly that strategy must be working for them.
Jonathan gives me a Matt Damon/Jason Borne Vibe.
Actually, in parts of jJustice League, Henry Cavil was doing a pretty good impression of Michael 1 with that horrid digital mustache remeval..
