Well, it wasn't all bad. I used the sale prices together with a 25% off DAZ FaceBook coupon to clear much of my wishlist
Return of Day One PC+ $2.20 items was great fun! Picked up a few things I missed first time around, and the price came down a bit with 2+ items in cart.
..hmm went to their page, didn't see it .
They are not on the DAZ Facebook page. They are in ads that appear at various times when you open your own FaceBook page..
that explains a lot, I use Fluff busters Facebook purity
Well, when there's 7 or 8 items in a pro-bundle, and with discounts, the pro bndle drops price to about $34, then that basically means there need to be only 3 or 4 items in that bundle that someone really wants, to make the bundle more cost efficient than buying them seperately. And sure, Daz is aware of that. I'm sure they keep metrics of what add-ons people buy with the bundle. When many people buy texture add-on X which happens to go with pro-bundle component Y, then they can easily guess that component Y must be more interesting than Component Z for which few people bought the texture add-on. So the entire cart composition gives more information than you'd guess. It's one of the reasons why pro-bundles always come with those additional discounts for buying multiple add-ons. Even when you specifically buy add-ons that aren't texture add-ons for outfits within the bundle (which are generally the cheapest add-ons!), that tells Daz that people like the figure and most probably the variations to the figure or the included hairs as well, but aren't sold on the outfits.
Ofcourse, Daz hopes people will like everything included in the bundle. But accomplishing that would be wishful thinking. However, assembling a pro-bundle that has at least four interesting items for most potential customers is fairly managable. At that point, people will start to think "I get those four items I like at a normal price, and then get a load of stuff which I may or may not use thrown in for free. Well, better get it for free now than pay for it later when I find I do need it.".
Exactly. With the heavy discounts that are usually given to Pro Bundles on release, coupled with the fact that the Daz base characters are usually quite a bit more expensive than a standalone character from a PA, the thing that I always find strange is that so many people buy just the figure on initial release..
...yeah but when the bundle is primarily skimpwear, fantasy, and horror, the only item of value in my book is the base figure. I generally wait a bit as often times, a base figure ends up in some sale (I've even seen them end up in Fastgrab once in a while), and as it is no longer a "New Release" by then, you can also use your PC coupon. I've paid less than 10$ sometimes.
Personally, I still don't see what is so great about Daz base figures. In almost every case, I like the PA characters better and often those characters don't even need the base or actually look better without it... An exception is Toon or stylized characters that are different from the usual Daz adult characters that are often PA created anyway.
In fairness, V8 bundle is a nice bundle. Will get to it eventually, maybe.
...there are a few which specify a certain figure like Sara (Teen Jane 8), Joi (Rynne 8) or Emy (Teen Raven 8)
One thing you can hope for is that Daz and PAs include full body morphs for Daz base characters, so clothiing fits their shape. You will usually see them listed as supported shapes.
Autofollow is a wondrous thing, along with adjustment morphs. I rarely use the bases anyway... Gets in the way of building new stuff.
it appears to be white type on a light orange background
with my browser zoomed to 200% cant quite make out what its trying to say
I'm a great believer in 'there is always another sale'.
12 hours - well the 12 is good, but im more of a week or month guy.
I just want to say that there have been some flash sales in this years March Madness that let me save a TON on things I've wanted for a while including some once-in-a-lifetime-cheap bundles and I'm very happy with the way the sale has played out so far. Just wanted to pass that on. Of course that played out lucky for me that it was the stuff I wanted / needed and it may not be the case foer everyone but I've stated "meh" about prior sales so it's only fair to say "Great!" now,
Oh joy, there are facebook coupons now? I'm one of those luddites that avoids Facebook. Not big on sharing intimate details on the internet, that's an interesting way to make you more of a target for bad actors. Not to mention all of that metadata sharing...
Anyways, still leaning more to 'Meh-ness" than "Madness." The 72 hour long 4 hour sale was one for the history books though! Not the sale itself, just that it went on for so long...
The 50% off flash coupon today did get me to move on a couple of things, but I wouldn't say I felt like I got a screamin' deal, just a pretty good one. I miss MM 2017...
Well, things have come full circle, and Facebook is mostly Luddites, now.
those buy up to 4 items and get 50% off are really good if you stack with stuff that is already discounted a lot.
Damn, I'm getting very low on my store credit.
I hope we get a good gift card offer before the new Pro Bundle pops up.
....yeah got several rather speedy items off my wishlist all for 16$ and change total because they already had a discount.
And the hairs! Some bundles come with quite versatile hair styles. When I fall for some offer to "pick an old bundle", I usually first look what hairs they have. Also helps that by that time, the gallery usually has several examples avalable. For some reason, the regular hair promos are quite incomplete, using similar morphs over and over, showing the hair from only two or three angles, etcetera. It's when people start to actually use the hairs, that renders appear with more angles, odd combinations of morphs and alternative shaders, and really show the potential of the product.
For me this March Madness has been the best in years, with lots of stacking discounts. Yesterday my cart was higher than I planned but I remembered I had taken a screenshot of a Daz coupon that was on Instagram (on one of my accounts NOT related to 3D art strangely) and tt still worked and saved saved me enough to not cull my cart.
I haven't really been that interested in much of the new stuff that's come out so far, but I've been grabbing older things from my wishlist and fastgrab where I can.
..yeah but the cost for the basic figure and the hair is still less than the bundle.
Could we please have a thread here to repost DAZ facebook coupons.... many people don't use facebook.
The 72 hour long 4 hour sale was one for the history books though! Not the sale itself, just that it went on for so long...
Yes, DAZ time...... sometimes like taking a dive into a black hole..... love it though.... :)
and the codes are there to reward those who do - it's a quid pro quo. (And I don't use Facebook either, so I miss the codes too.)
I don't get it though. Why is Daz rewarding people who use facebook? Do they have a deal or something. I've never seen a coupon for the people on their forum but they are rewarding people who use another application that has nothing to do with the 3d world?
I would think it's to get more traffic to the Facebook page to increase thelikelihood of new users falling into their web.
