the male centaur appears in figures - people - male, and the female one appears in figures- creatures
I was looking for centaur 8 in smarty but each are listed as genesis 8 male centaur & genesis 8 female centaur, but as said male is in people and female is in creature
like c7 you have a complete centaur and an additive that is the horse body to add to your choice of male/female character. However if you load your favourite character then the horse body add on it does not auto hides the lower half of the human you gotta do that manually. But there is another way load the complete centaur instead then while selected got your femal/male body you wish to use selct their shape morphs then textures and all be fine
I can't wait to get home to use these bundle. I adore the promos, what is the outfit, with the chains in the female centaur promo? I think it might be using the Kala 8 character

In response to the title of the thread re textures. My experience so far is that no you cannot use Horse 2 textures. Neither can you use Centaur 7 presets. On Centaur 7 the shell covered the entire lower (horse) body. On Centaur 8 the shell is only used at the waist, for the transition portion, so they are not the same. Applying a Centaur 7 preset only affects this shell and not the whole figure. I am currently experimenting with applying them manually but there is something weird going on as manually changing the textures hasn't worked yet. The surfaces arrangement is going to take some figuring out.

Rats, I just noticed that someone else had tried to use C7 textures on C8 and they didn't work.
Hopefully someone will get this figured out.
the hides and breeds that are meant to be in the centaur 8 pro bundle are missing
You totally CAN use Centaur 7 textures. You just have to manually copy/paste to the torso on the geoshell and make sure you set the UV to Centaur (and make sure you don't lose your opacity map).
Of course, how did I miss that? Thank you for the correction/explanation.
I bought Centaur 3 bundles and have yet to use them for anything. I think I'm going to have to pass on this one, the month is young and my buget is limited.
Do Centaur 7 poses work on Centaur 8?
From the promos I did and they seem to work fine !
why a i even reading this? i don;t render centaurs. i do wishi i could get the horse 2 breeds and textures in a separate purchase though. or a new horse with them all included.

Yep, me too. This is definitely something I cannot turn down. With RawArt releasing a female centaur and your outfit I had to push the checkout button on the basic centaur male. Sometimes something just comes your way that makes it feel like Christmas. Such imagination and craftmanship. Sooo excited to get my hands on this!!!
I am in the same boat. I was surprised to see this appear in the 8 family. I think Centaurs are fairly niche (although I know some people love them), so it is strange that they appeared in two families in a row. I would have preferred to see a different half human/half beast creature.

MAJOR UPDATE - The Hides and Breeds packs for both the male and female are now in the store as separte items. Right now the only way to get to them seems to be clicking on the links from the pro-bundle description, but they are definitely there! Really good news for those who want to just buy the base figures.
Second update - and now they're in the main store catalog as well.
Exactly...like a human/snake or a mermaid and merman...haven't had an official mermaid for a couple generations.

I purchased the main bundle and although the Hides textures are now showing up in my order list when I click on it to download it takes me to the product page for the hides. It doesn't show that I purchased them. Help please, thanks.
The difference is that the Centaurs are really a kit bash of two existing figures, both of which are D.Os, so there's comparitively little work. If there'd been an official DAZ mermaid in Genesis 3, we'd probably get a G8 version for that as well.
Given that there are no plans to release G9 this year, I'm holding out hope that we'll get more fantasy creatures as well! Yes, a mermaid would be cool (and I would want that above a vampire/zombie update). Still hoping for a dragonborn at some point (there are some dragon/reptile-ish creatures but none that look sufficiently like the DnD 5e core race). At least RawArt has made a Medusa figure.
same with me, got the pro bundles but the hides and breeds dosen't show as purchased on the poduct page nor are they in my library
Cybersox: Uh, it is _not_ a simple matter to set up two figures to graft together like centaur does. In fact, I think centaur is a lot harder than merfolk or other similar things.
