Virgin Burger Joint. All burger joints would be this clean if they just didn't have to deal with customers.

Here are some pictures of a McDonald's restaurant in my city (Midwestern United States). It has those fancy ordering machines and I'd say it looks almost as clean as the CG restaurant.
ours has those ordering placards too, I rarely go there and when I do I am the only customer

Okay, the Tenderloin/"Civic Center", that's like the jungle. I don't think I've ever been to a McDonald's there. Oh, I've been to the Burger King near the one Mission BART station, and that's also not a place to go. (I'm reading that they closed that h-ll hole.)
The FiDi is pretty decent, despite people camping and self-medicating on the premises. Outside may smell of pee, but the insides stay clean.

There are lots of imperfections in that image which haven't been captured by the CG restaurant, such as the soft edges on the tables, chairs etc, the wrinkled and displaced cushions. These things make a big difference between something looking just clean vs. artificial.
and you still eat their food with it not being clean??!! I would speed away, very fast!
Well in dealing with the 24 hour burger places and dragging out a certain clientele in the middle of the night the set is missing a few rummies, a homeless person and a tweaker or two.
I guess it all depends where you live and what the health codes are. After working for the Multnomah County Health Department in Oregon for almost 30 years, I know from experience that regular unannounced inspections occur and resturants are required to comply with strict health codes. The fast food resturants that I've been in here are all clean unless small children have been there and thrown their food on the floor under the table but the staff always clean it up right away. I personally like the new burger restaurant the way it is, I don't want my DAZ people eating in a dirty place.
Are you in America? Most fast food places in gas stations, and any food service inside a Walmart are the absolute worst. I avoid them. Places in older building also look rough as well. However things are improving. There is a trend of fast food places rebuilding and remodeling their places to look better. That has become sort of its own arms race. For example, Chick-fil-a has a standard where every store MUST remodel after a certain period of time, the main company actually does a full inspection of each franchise location every year or so. I think they started this trend because this contributes to the business they do. Chick-fil-a does an insane amount of business, and the old brands are desperately trying to catch up. Every single McDonalds that is around me has done a full remodel of its store in the past two years, I am talking like a 50+ mile radius with dozens of locations. Taco-Bell has also jumped on this trend and many of those have remodeled around here. In some cases, they even tear down the old building and build entirely from scratch, which McDonalds did where I grew up.
Of all the trends that can on, this is one I can get behind. But a brand new building or remodel doesn't mean the tables will always be clean. I don't know what it is about North Carolina, but any time I travel there the places are never clean, even when its not busy. It doesn't matter where I go. They just don't care. I have not traveled the whole state, but I have seen plenty. However, I gotta eat somewhere! I can't just leave every place I see with dirty tables or I might starve down there.
Anyway, as for the product here, I am more concerned about the other stuff I do not see. Like Cybersox said, where are the bathrooms? Actually, where is the entrance? I think I see where it might be, but we don't have a picture of a door. And it is kind of odd that we don't see a kitchen or prep area or any hint of one. Though I understand that would have been really tough, but I think it would be pretty cool to have a full fast food building with a kitchen in it. That would allow artists to render up stories of people working in these places.
Sure a "dirty" version may be a Texture add-on but honestly the best way always remains to do it by yourself.

many of the places I am near in China Basin/Mission Rock are nearly sterile in their cleanliness so mileage varies in San Francisco.
I prefer having a clean version as starting point, you can always make it dirty (and in your own way) if you want that. The other way round, from dirty to clean, usually isn't as easy.
If it was dirty, wouldn't that just attract the fireflies?
When I was very little, late 1960s, the McDonald's nearest us (the area of Chicago called "The Little Village" nowadays) was still that kitchen tile style building with big lit golden arches that you had to order from windows outside the restaurant to get any food. We used to be taken there Saturday evenings in summertime. I can still remember the darkness, the bright lights from the businesses on Cicero Ave, and ozone smell (that I think was from traffic). The outside of it was spotless but I don't think it had an outdoor eating area because we never stayed to eat once.
I worked at Burger Queen in 1979 and if a burger wasn't sold within 15 minutes of being put in the heat lamp line it was tossed into the trash. In those days I remember reading that for every $20 of food sales a fast food restaurant like McDonald's makes 0.10 cents net profit. To give you an ideal of how thin a profit margin that is, about 15 years later when I was working for Texas Instrument Defense, Texas Instruments sold Texas Instruments Defense to Raytheon Defense because Texas Instruments Defense was only making about 10% net profit off of their contracts (or $2 per $20 sales)
Yes, I am. They've been remodeling businesses with customer facing footage since I was a boy. I guess while I was overseas for 10 years and not going to restaurants for 10 years since I've been back, they stopped doing that.
It's sort of weird in my area where I live, some restaurant chains are truly unstoppable like McDonalds, but almost all other chains have come, failed, and gone. It's a revolving door of pop culture. Even Starbucks failed here and we have 3 other (local) coffee shops and 2 (local) doughnut shops. Starbucks was gone 10 years before they tried again via a Starbucks placed within a local newly built Kroger's so they could depend on the necessity of grocery shopping to get people to venture stopping at a Starbucks. I'm not a coffee person so to me that expensive Starbucks tastes no better than the instant powdered coffee and fake powered cream and (yes real) sugar that the military put in our MREs.
Almost without exception, the McDonalds that I've been in over the last half century have been presentable. About as clean as one could expect for hosting swarms of children and rushed people every day.
However, the most disgusting fast food restaurant I've ever been in was a McDonalds in a bad section of Baltimore. I felt dirty just walking in, spilled food on many tables & chairs, on floor, on door handles, on counter and windows! Hookers & johns outside and in. Fat stinky people milling about sweating and heaving for breath dragging grimy kids in tow.
I visited that area of the city many times (it's where a famous leather bar was)
but I never even thought about going back to that McDonalds. Yet down the street a block was a very nice tiny, individually owned, clean, sit-down restaurant with three tables, tablecloths and tableware that had only a waiter and a cook and served the most wonderful meals for reasonable prices.
Baltimore's been in the news lately and yes there are some sketchy areas but there are some wonderful places and people there too.
I've also seen a rat the size of a cat running down Constitution Avenue in front of the Justice Department building along The Mall in Washington, DC which is otherwise clean, tidy and well maintained.
Nope, this is what they look like in Europe. Heck, I think I've been in this exact one.
And if you aren't squeeky clean like this in the EU, you'll get shut down because we like people not dying from food poisening.

Those old numbers aren't exactly right. The magin on hamburgers was razor thin, as they were sold for half of what the same item would cost in a diner, but the drinks were (and still are) almost pure profit. As for the tossing out food... yeah, McDonald's original model was built around batch processing, where multiple burgers were made at once, all identically, which, combined with a very limited menu, allowed them to serve food incredibly fast during rushes. The volume that they sold during peaks more than offset the losses due to wastage in the off hours. That whole model got turned around when Burger King launched the "have it your way" campaign and made special orders a major marketing point. (That's the main reason that McDonald's burgers were fried on a griddle while Burger King's were flame cooked on a conveyor belt, btw, batch versus lipnear assembly.) It's really hard to emphasize what a huge shift that was in the fast food industry, as prior to that the industry was pretty much operated on a "take what they give you" model, and it made such a cultural ripple that McDonalds was forced to redo their system... but at a great cost to speed. Fast food used to be REALLY fast.
But let's be honest. There's "traces of poop" on everything. Like your toothbrush.

Here where I'm at the tend to be clean or they wind up on the TV news health report and then after a week get re-reported on to see if they've cleaned up their act They don't last very long if they don't keep the place clean

These days the rules are pretty strict. They can be randomly inspected at any time. My local Maccy-D is spotless.
In my area if a restaurant fails a health dept. inspection they publish it in the newspaper and online. It can kill a business quickly if they're an eating establishment and they aren't clean.
