  • I keep seeing complaints about not enough male characters and male fashions. It seems to me that there have been a lot of male characters released for g8. Is it that there are too many hunks and not enough "regular Joe" types? I think we've been getting a lot of good male characters...with a good variety of looks. I certainly agree that the male clothing in general looks like tubes with textures added...at least the everyday sort. It just doesn't have the detail that the women's wear gets. Aside from the general market that seems to prefer female models and clothing, could it also be that many PAs prefer to create female items? Aren't at least half or more of the contributing content creators selling at Daz, female? From a fashion designer viewpoint, I can see that designing women's clothing could be more fun. Not wanting to start an argument...just wondering, since it seems like PAs and Daz would provide any content that they thought would sell.

The sales figures show female stuff sells better. (Though Daz doesn't share the actual sales figures, I believe them.)

I also believe male stuff would sell better than the sales figures indicate if we had a lot more to choose from. When I'm filling out my cart with items to trigger a higher discount, I frequently add female products because there are no more male products I want. If the men had half the number of support products as the women, (clothing, hair, tattoos/makeup, etc.) I know there would be a lot of folk like me filling out their carts with male products.

But I do acknowledge that there is a smaller market for the male products than the female, especially the skimpwear. And PAs have to eat and pay bills, just like the rest of us.

There are more male characters appearing, I believe, but what I feel is needed is more male clothing that works well with dForce. Yes, there are some, but that's just a fraction of what is available for female characters.

As for this MM sale, it's a total fizzer as far as I'm concerned. I no longer wait on Daz midnight to see what's available, because the discounts (when/if they work) are lower than a lot of other sales we've seen.

You don't need to hae anything else in the cart to get the 70%. After missign a couple early on when they switched to only one day for most Bonus items I've been checking out immediately if I want the item.

Yeah, if I liked the 70% off item I always waited until the end of the day to checkout, just in case of a flash sale. I had a feeling Baldric wasn't going to stay discounted for long. Besides, he was the only character I've been looking forward to. I had even put him in my cart without checking the price and was pleasantly surprised. X)

By switching things to one day only it means you need to buy something everyday, I like the Dorthie character today but as I haven't bought anything in a couple of days I don't and can't get the cheaper price. There's something else released today so I could buy that and would if I thought I'd be able to get Dorthie cheaper tomorrow but as I know I probably won't I won't spend anything again.

the 58% off the DO stuff for the $50 off went back to 30% again. That is a big change...had 7 of them in my cart, got up this morning and my cart price doubled. So now its back to the beginning again ... maybe i just need to buy the stuff next time.

@scorpio, Earlier in this thread, iirc, someone reported they were able to get the 70% discount the same day as making a qualifying purchase. Any new release will trigger the discount, so you could pick up one of the PC+ items first, and then put the bonus item in your cart. It might not be immediate, (anb Daz may have changed that,) but it is an option.

I'm truly sorry you missed getting Baldric yesterday.
    sad

ETA: The Bonus Madness/Buyer items have all been new releases, (except for the one day with a dozen to choose from,) so purchasing the item at 70% off also qualifies you for the 70% deal for the next three days.

I didn't want Baldric after being disappointed by the last character purchase from that vendor I won't buy anymore.

I'm so fed up with this sale, I've returned the majority of my purchases this month including Bridget 8 pro bundle and am just looking forward to the money I'll save.

Ditto. I'll keep my money for better sales, too. This MM is even worse than last year's, with overly complex offers that rarely work, to get miserly discounts.

By this time last year, discounts were around 65% or better for a wide range of products, not the 50-55% I'm seeing now.

    ...+1.

Also have yet to see a more "generic" (non Figure oriented) item like say an new architectural set, vehicle, or prop be the "key" product even for one week.

I thought I would be hard pressed with my current store credit balance for MM, but am finding just the opposite.  Maybe in less than a year, I have acquired so much that I am not dazzled enough to spend. Then again, my November and December spending don't indicate that.  As an aside, the daily 12hr/70% are doing a great job at exposing me to other artists.  DS could take note of the idea; I have spent more there than I normally do.

  • The Extra 70% sale that is going on is for the two products displayed under the text. I the case of the image the extra 70% off would only work on Bridget 8 HD Add-on or the VYK Dorthie for Genesis 8 Female. Those two products also change from day to day. The deal is not meant for Any or All new products. If the two products shown do not show up with an extra 70% off, then yes, please contact customer service.

well I spent my MM sale money for the rest of the month. My office chair back broke so I needed a new chair and went with the sparco elecwish gamming chair. don't ask how much it cost  But it has built in wireless speakers, the seat vibrates to gaming action comes with foot rest and lays back into a recliner. etc. I just got it today. & needless to say my budget is shot

Is that chair just Iray, or does it have 3Delight textures too???

That chair is so cool. I am using plastic wicker lawn furniture in my living room as the nice furniture is all out of my price range. I love WalMart, they have saved me so much hassle so many times. laugh

Nope it comes just in Reality or is that actuality. :)

Looking at your setup, the easiest way is to elevate it.  Put a hook on the wall to your right and run the USB cable to that before running it back to the PC.  You may need to add an extra couple of feet of cable with an extender so that the weight of the cable on the PC side will always be havier than the weight of the cable on the chair side, keeping the chair side up and off of the floor.

That was a super Idea ..and when i tried it I had to cable tie a couple of big heavy washers to the PC side of the USB cable loop to make it heavier. it worked like a auto retraction system when i pulled my chair out so it did not unplug it either .. Thank you for that fabulous idea, it worked great :)

I couldn't help but notice you got it in "Ivy" green. lol

I took one look at your new chair, and went shopping! I've got an all black one in my cart at Amazon now, trying to decide if I want to add to the cart or not. The only drawback I can see is the USB cable. I don't game, so maybe I could just plug it in when I want to use the speakers, (to watch video tutorials without disturbing the sleeping better-half.)

Just curious… Is it as comfortable as it looks?

I decided not to get it after all. It's covered in PU Leather, PU short for polyurethane. My cats will leave leather alone, but see faux leather as an open invitation to sharpen their claws! Too bad, really, 'cause I love everything else about it and I really do need a new office chair. This one's gotta be over 15 years old. I've had to reupholster the arm rests, and I sit on a pillow since the seat is flat from so many years of use. But at least the back hasn't broken off! lol

Lol, I sit on a pillow as well because mine went flat and the faux leather has been torn to shreds from my kitties.

Yet we still love the little furballs! Must be the soft fur. Or maybe the purr? Or maybe the way they dig their claws into your leg as they climb into your lap even as you're trying to shooo them away. Or …
