Excellent work on both of these.  Sometimes the promo images don't show a figure at its best, it's only when people start using the figure and posting images like this that we get to see the full potential.

Sadly, given that so many users can knock out better images in just a few hours of having purchased the product, I'd say that these days it's not SOMETIMES that the DAZ promo images don't do a good job of showing off the figure, it's MOST of the time.

I think it's a difference between doing something you love for the enjoyment of it and doing it for a regular paycheck.

As a note, we're always open to helping peopel do both :)  I've asked one of our team to look through this thread and reach out to folks who are posting some really impressive renders to see if you'd be open to doing some for us in the future.  There's nothing we love more than talent :)

I think portrait & body shots in a t-pose and as-is from the presets with the DAZ Default HRDI lighting as the last 8 renders of the ad copy of a character product would be good. The prior ad copy to the final 8 ad copy, 8, 12, 16, however many renders, could be whatever, wearing whatever, in a whatever environment using whatever addons, in whatever lighting, and using whatever character surfaces alterations, is fine.

It would be interesting to see what sort of First Day of release impact this would have.

I'd be happy to help do some promos, but I'm not sure that they'd be considered good enough. Is there a way I can submit images before a release for consideration for promos? If they aren't chosen I wouldn't be hurt or anything, but I would be happy to submit some for consideration. :)

Awwww Thank you! blush Though I'm not sure my images would be considered good enough to be promos for the figure releases. People like Deathbycanon do much more impressive images. :) I'd be happy to submit some though for consideration if they want.

The only issue I see with Landon himself is I wish he didn't have hair baked into his textures.

What hair is baked in? I detest that as well.  Please tell me its not his face at least.

There's a bit of five o'clock shadow baked in, but I mostly saw the extra body hair that came with the base texture. He's kind of a hairy guy, even when not in Wolf Form

Indeed it was the chest hair I was talking about.

You can probably photoshop it off easily enough using the clone stamp tool. I've done that in the past with some M4 textures, notable Sol's forehead wrinkles and Rob's goatee.

  • I agree with Laurie, Diva. Your renders can easily hold their own against 90% of the promo pics out there. Even I am considering sending some renders in to see if I can do some promo shots. And your renders leave mind for dead. I prefer renders that show what the figurte looks like rendered rayther than what it looks like after a heap of post work. Gives me a better idea of what I can achieve with the figure.

I was thinking of getting the pro bundle, and started looking at individual items, when I saw that https://daz3d.com/dforce-outsider-outfit-for-genesis-8-males is showing what looks like texture problems in the main promo image. I'll wait until people start posting images with dForce added. The promos, if they are using dForce indicate the jeans don't perform well with dForce. Please prove me wrong, because we need good dForce stuff for the males.

    (Edit to fix typo.)

I haven't rendered that set yet, but the Alpha set has an issue with the shirt textures (also carries over to the add-on since they share normal maps, etc.)

Well that's not very good.  Looks like there needs to be a fix for that!

Yow... Not sure how that got through.  Thank you for posting the images.  We'll ge the team working on a fix.

I submitted a ticket yesterday with those images (and additional ones) and pointed to my posts here. Hopefully, the fixes won't take too long to implement.

Divamakeup, your images are something I always check on a new figure. Your images really show off the textures- which is what I want to see.

Allen Art's renders of the guys are another really helpful because they show what can be done with the model in a way the usual Daz promos rarely do.

    Showing Off Date

Judging by the lighting I'd say this is a 3Delight render. Not that there''s anything wrong with that... it's pretty damn good.

He's still kind of got the funky high peaked Genesis 8 Male lips, but not a bad looking fellow all in all.

I've wanted to make this render for about 6 or 7 years now, ever since playing in a game of Hunter for World of Darkness. smiley  The Pro Bundle made that possible.  As did Shattered from Dogz, which I had to buy specifically for this render (kinda thought I already had it, but guess not).  Can't really tell, but that's Karl HD going backwards out the window.

Cool! You really nailed the action here!

It's a tad dark, which makes it hard to see some of the details, but lightening it slightly in post would help that. All in all a really cool render! :)
