The claws for Landon make a welcome addition to a lot of other stuff, too.
I'm very happy to support all the male content in this launch! Great deals today on a great Pro pack! There are some fantastic bundles to choose from the freebies, including the wedding bundle (and textures) that have been on my wishlist for a while. Now I can have a werewolf wedding. Woohoo!
On 1st glance I was uninspired because of the usual dark brunette hair and average California tan. When I actually bother looking at the actual character itself though, he is a big improvement in his face and body modelling. They are done much more realistically, particularly the details in the face. The body too but they're aren't many modern people with bodies like that without artificial hormone therapy.
I think this character Landon 8 is the Gianni 7 replacement, not the Brute 8.
I was hoping for Gianni, too. We had Gianni 6 and 7. Why not Gianni 8? Does DAZ read these forums to know what people are asking for?
I noticed something amusing with the promo banner on the main page. Becasue I was awake early (a few after after Daz changeover), I checked the site on my tablet, and the banner for Landon had 1 picture of the base "human" character (I think), plus the second of 2 full werewolves. Now it has wolfman-Landon and wolfman-Thorn replacing human-Landon plus same 2 werewolves. I guess marketing decided Plain Ol' Landon didn't look like he was werewolf material? LOL
Sigh, this is all so confusing. It is so very hard to work out how much things cost here. There are always so many caveats and mixture-offers. Still, I guess being confused saves me money. I just don't buy when I have no idea what is going on. lol
which is/would be hilarious, cuz Dylan's character is one of the few who is NOT a werewolf XDDD...

Yeah, the lack of additional characters is really in the "must buy for discount" add-ons is kind of a jerk move on DAZ's part, as they could easily (and have in the past) stick a female character or a prop in there to fill out the list. The first freebies section ("Clothing and accessory") is a crap move as well, given that the newest products in it are for Genesis 2 and they're all non-Iray. Given how many new people have come into this hobby in the last five years, I wonder how many have ever even used the older figures.
So if you buy/bought the bundle while the Alpha Team Texures were there, how is this being handled by Daz? Are the textures actually what's in the bundle when it's purchased and downloaded? (As of 11:21 AM Mountain time on Tuesday, the textures, not the outfits, are showing in both bundles. I've checked it on a couple different browsers, so it's definitely not a browser cache issue.)
Many of the promo images show Landon with a beard. What product is used there? Can the Landon Sideburns extend to cover the chin, or is a different beard product being used?
All of the Landon characters come with some sort of facial hair
I was trying different skins on the Nix 8 head morph last week, and discovered that the sculpt is uncannily similar to young Brad Pitt. It was clever of Daz to do this, I thought. So now, I wonder if Landon is a facsimile of someone well-known.

Given that there isn't a single image of an actual pair of sideburns in any of the promotion illustrations for the Landonbase figures itself while the same chin-strap beard is shown repeatedly, I assumed that it was just some DAZ employee not knowing what the definition of sideburns was.
Alpha Team Outfit is in the Pro Bundle. The promo sheet just used the wrong link.
I will have to say that I approve of the extra human character being included in the Pro pack, rather than the Lycan character substituting for one. With some of the earlier Pro packs we got an extra human and a monster/fantasy character and if we wanted anything else we had to check the add-ons.
Mind you,this is not to imply that I approve of there being *no* additional characters in the add-ons...

Really like Landon. Ture he is pretty similar to other males from Genesis 8, but he's different enough to make him a good addition to the gene pool.

Is that slight halo in the eye (like an edge outside of the iris) something to do with the texture or is it something that happened while you tweaked the eyes?
When I checked the sale, it was shortly after Daz Midnight. (The prices still showed up as free on the sales page and NaN on the product pages.) Both the Pro and Starter bundles showed the Alpha Team textures on the promo page, but on the product pages for the bundles, it was the Alpha Team Outfit.
The problem was the wrong SKU was entered in the source code for the promo page, but the actual bundles were always correct.
If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you get and install the free Daz Deals plugin. It makes the site a much better experience. And it also makes it easier to see when an offer is working correctly. With any "base figure" new release, you will always get the best discounts/deals if you meet the purchase requirements for the most products to buy. In this case, for example, that means the Pro Bundle and four of the addons lower on the page. (Offers change with each base figure release. Lee 8, for example, didn't get an extra discount for buying addons.)
Daz also rewards people for buying pro bundles. The $37+ price you're seeing posted includes a loyalty discount for owning a number of G8 Pro bundles. Only Daz knows what numbers trigger what discounts. Without the loyalty discount, the best price will be around $46.

FYI, Darwin just posted a character he submitted to Daz for Landon. Gorgeous, of course. He must have submitted it late, as apparently Daz hasn't approved it yet. What a shame Baldric wasn't in the Add-ons!
Wasn't crazy about the bundles, but I liked him enough to get the base and the HD morph plus the han-solo-ish hair.

First render with Landon 8 and he's... okay. Just kinda an average Gen 8 Male. Still, the clothing set was pretty nice and the skin texture looks great under the right light. Still... okay.
Looks like they're just basic pull on work boots. With kinda weird seams, now that I think about it...
