Whose idea was it that you take December off work?    I wouldn't think your bosses would be very happy about it,  December is always a busy month  Taking time off could threaten your job going forward.

Not my idea.  I am not sure what is up or down anymore.

There are only two people who can say you have to take time off,   yourself   and your Boss,   No one else should be able to dictate to you about your employment.

It was not my boss nor I who decided.  It was my support team and the one responsible to get my taxi vouchers to and from work.  At first they wanted me to quit, but changed their mind to a month off of work.  It is very confusing for me.

Something seems wrong with the image of a mouse in my signature.  Wonder what happened to that website hosting the image.  Oh well time to work on homework for school.

edit now the mouse is back up and the site seems to be working fine.

So instead of you quitting you get the sack. Why do they think that you need time off from work?

From what I understand is to catch up on stuff at home, but I cannot stay home.  I have to go to a day program instead.

...how do they expect you to support yourself with no income?

This seems to be getting worse by the minute.

...well finally got a decent plan for my Smartphone 25$ a month 250 minutes (I'd never go through that much unless calling a city or state office where i'm put on hold for 30 min) and 2 GB of data which is more than sufficient for my needs. I can finally use the bus tickets that have been "trapped" as the new update has to "phone home" to verify the tickets for some reason. I can check bus schedules again and get directions to places when I'm having trouble finding them.   Regular monthly billing no "card" to buy and PIN to enter every month and I didn't have to buy a new phone.

There was a slight snafu as while setting up the auto-payment plan my card kept getting rejected even though all the information was correct.  Then I thought for a moment entered my old address and it went though.  When I moved last year I gave the bank my new address but apparently someone there didn't enter it is so I have to go talk with them tomorrow.

I would be concerned about that.  Have they been sending things to that old address?  Has someone else gotten your bank correspondence?  That kind of thing makes me worry.

Complaint:  Snow! sad  I should have gone out yesterday.  Previous snow was almost all gone, not raining, not freezing.  This morning after a prediction of 3cm of snow I wake to find 6 inches! surprise  Wet gloppy stuff.  Driveway's not plowed yet.  Streets are all slushy, snow is coming down like feathers in a pillow fight.

Non-complaint:  I called and canceled today's doctor appointment (nothing dire, just a 6 month checkup for which I've already had the blood tests so all they really do is take my blood pressure and read my bloodtest results and tell me I'm as normal as normal is for me these days.  If there's anything really wrong, they'll call me and chide me for living.  frown  By missing the appointment I save a $10 co-pay, and the insurance company saves a couple hundred.  Not that I care about how much I save the insurance company but something good has to come from this snow.  And the doctor's overcrowded daily schedule becomes just a little less crowded.  She always looks like she could use a few extra minutes in a day.

Non-complaint:  While DAZzing and listening to my local classical radio station in Buffalo they played a piece that is quite familiar to me and I always enjoy hearing it.  It's a short (20 minutes), single movement, piano concerto by Alexander Glazunov.  I hear it enough that I assumed that I had it in my library of CDs.  So I looked for it in my index of CDs.  To my horror, I had neither of his piano concertos surprise  Either I really don't have them or my index is inaccurate or incomplete, but my CD collection is so large that searching the actual CDs by hand would take hours.  So I searched Amazon and put a version of it into my wishlist for purchase sometime down the road.  Meanwhile, I pass to you a link to this wonderful piece of music with a clear and unforgetable primary theme expressed in the opening 12 notes and recurring throughout and at the end.  The music is in places light and airy and other places seems to dive into your deeper emotions.  The paintings that accompany this performance are wonderful to see also. yes

This all being said... I don't particularly care for his first piano concerto.  One doesn't have to like all classical music but one should be prepared to sample and defend the parts one does like.

I attended the most boring class for "Word".  MS Word was not installed on the computer so we used open office, instead.  It is like saying we are going to learn Adobe Photoshop and use GIMP instead.  Or say we are going to learn Maya and use Blender instead.

Oh well, second day at the drop in center and using the stupid computer with square monitor.  It is not even 64 bit, but I doubt it will run DS even with just 3Delight.

Complaint:  SNOW! sad  The snowfall yesterday was predicted to be 3cm but we got 6 inches.  The new snowfall for today was predicted to be 6cm but I woke up this morning to at least two feet of heavy wet snow.  And it's still snowing, heavily.  indecision  The driveway was plowed early this morning (about 6 am)  I finally got out of bed at 8am and looked out the window but couldn't find the driveway. frown  I'd send a photo but COMPLAINT... my camera is boogering up. angry

Non-complaint:  My car is buried under a ton of snow.  I'm in no condition to unbury it.  I'm effectively snowbound until conditions improve or I find a willing teenager to find my car for me.  But, no problem.  I don't have to go anywhere until December 21st. yes I have food, water, heat, electricity, entertainment and a place to complain to for at least that long.  After that I may run out of "proper" food but I still have cereal and popcorn, and pickles and Spam. frown  I even have cookies and chocolate. smiley

Non-complaint:  Got my camera to work well enough for these shots.

Complaint: Pic #1 My porch.  Sheltered but still has 8 inches.  Out on the steps, the depth is 23 inches.  Drifts are 3 feet.  Still snowing.  This, m'dears is "lake effect snow" from Lake Erie.  Winds coming from Canada blowing towards southeast across the yet unfrozen lake picking up moisture then rising a bit to get over the lakeside hills and dumping it on the first two counties of the Southern Tier of NY State.

Pic #2 My neighbors from other half of house's car, stuck in driveway.

Pic #3 My car parked in back of house since last Wednesday.

Note:  After having swept my porch clean of snow and making a narrow path down the steps, I gave up when I reached the driveway and retreated back into the house and shook the snow that covered my back, arms and head.  Fortunately however, I discovered that the snow is not really wet and heavy, but only moderately heavy.  Wet enough to make good snowballs but not overly heavy and is relatively easy to sweep unless you step in it and make a compressed spot that is then impossible to remove with a broom.  Why, oh why, didn't I get my snow shovel out of the car before it became buried? frown  (Answer:  Because I didn't want to tempt myself with actually trying to shovel snow. devil)

Nice    are they cat type furry friends?     My brother and I had a kitty we called Oliver when we were young.  We called him Oliver because he kept asking for more.

Wonder if new train station has free WiFi?  I think the train does.

  • Non-complaint:  With travel an impossibility today I busied myself by examing another upcoming on-line auction catalog.  Yeah, I know... shame on me. blush  And although I found a couple items under $50 I also found a nice pair of chairs in the same auction with a starting bid of $8,000,000 Yes, eight million dollars. surprise https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/65956730_a-pr-ming-dynasty-imperial-horse-back-huanghauli-chairs  or you could try to get the white stem cup with a starting bid of only a half-million. frown  At those prices they should charge just for looking. devil

No, just old, rare and for some unfathomable reason desired by people with more money than they know what to do with.  Heck, the chairs wouldn't even support a modern human or make a decent fire for more than 10 minutes.

or possibly... No, just designed by ancient Chinese Space Agency as space-toilets. (It's a joke boy!, I say, it's joke son!)

...found this Steinway that cost 1,000,000$ on eBay.

Used to belong to J.D. Rockefeller

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/ONE-OF-A-KIND-VERY-FAMOUS-STEINWAY-SONS-CUSTOM-ART-CASE-CONCERT-GRAND-PIANO/143004713414?hash=item214bbec1c6:g:dzAAAOSwjR5avaMn:rk:17:pf:0

Need to win the Megabucks after seeing this though:

Frederic Chopin's performed on Erards (paticularly during his concerts in London) and considered them more "forgiving" than those made by Pleyel (which he usually preferred) claiming the sound was always more beautiful.

It's raining noisily here, at the moment. I'm a little surprised it's coming down as rain, because it's been freezing cold outside all day. And the map is yellow, so we're gonna get well soaked.
