Finally made it home so I could download and play with all of the assets I bought last week. I realize I’m late to the party, but here’s  a quick mugshot/reference render of three of the characters:

The HD details look fantastic and really give the NPR algos a lot to chew on. Kudos to @JoLab1985 and @Josh Crockett.

Thanks, Diva. Pretty much straight out of the can, so all the credit goes to the PAs.

BTW, any chance we’ll see some HD sculpting from you soon?

Yeahhh...about that. See, if you do an HD character and daz doesn't like it and doesn't want to take it, you're kind of screwed. You can't sell it anywhere else. I'm not sure I want to put that much more extra time and work into doing an HD character when there is a chance that I'm just going to eat those weeks of work. Plus, creating HD characters is different than creating regular characters - the process is different and getting everything loaded and set up properly is different than doing a regular character. I don't know how to do HD and not sure it's worth the risk when you can give similar effects with bump maps, displacement maps, and/or normal maps. And doing the details on those maps doesn't hit the computer as hard as HD characters do either.

I understand what you're saying, Diva. Now that I think about it, there are other advantages to not using HD morphs for the added detail, too. For example, if you use displacement/normal maps, the details can be transferred to other figures, whereas HD details cannot.

I don't know what eles to say.... Speechless....

    Beautiful work everyone.

That's a really good job and really good line rendering.  How do you get that quality of line rendering?

Darn you guys! ... Just joking..

I have had no problem resisting anything Genesis 8 thanks to my bank account size, until now.

Zelara 8 is simply the most flexible design I have ever seen right out of the box, and the add ons are amazing.  Looks like I am going to have to start eating ramen noodles for six months or so thoughcrying

First of all, thanks to all of those who enjoyed the image and chimed in - it's always nice to hear and much appreciated. The bulk of the credit should go to the various PAs, though. I really meant it when I said it was a quick reference render since the characters and their poses were all part of the bundle/add-ons, and were pretty much used straight out of the box with just a few tweaks.

In addition to JoLab1985 and Josh Crockett, I should have mentioned that all 3 of the figures' poses were part of @Zeddicuss's set included in the bundle. And I can't say enough about how beautiful Zurie is (FWSA's bundled character).

Anyway, to answer your question @E-Arkham, it's a completely autonomous home cooked process that I've been developing for decades, and am still working on to this day when I can manage. If you're interested, there's a couple of old NPR threads I could dig up for you once I'm off this phone and on a computer. There's a few posts in particular that have lots of details about the process.

I'd just like to take a moment to acknowledge DAZ's obvious effort to release new, fresh content when it comes to G8 bundles. The variety has been really great, and I, for one, am eagerly looking forward to what DAZ and all the PAs release in the next few months during the PA festival & PC Anniversary!

@algovincian " it's a completely autonomous home cooked process that I've been developing for decades,"

Greg, you know this would be a fabulous product. If "autonomous", it would seem possible to be used by folks here.

While I am amazed at the skill of the various PAs, your renders of this type have easy been superior to any product I have yet seen in the store.

@Algovincian - I totally agree with everyone here.  Stunning line art.  Only ToonyCam Pro could even come close - and that product doesn't like DS 4.10 on W10/64 apparently.

Right? I'd pay big bucks for Greg's Algos. Makes me so sad they're not distributable.

Zelara at the doorway to the crypt; very loosely inspired by J. S. Le Fanu's 'Schalken The Painter'.
