  • Speaking of flexibility, does anybody know if the OOT https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-male-mega-wardrobe has undressing morphs?

That last image in the product gallery would suggest that the jeans have that capability. Combine it with Zev0's Fit Controls, I think you're more than good there.

I use the OOT underwear expansion and there are nice underthings in that as well. Both of those sets I bought at initial release. I really love the Shaara's Muse textures too. Wish they'd do more texturing.

I know who made these jeans, and very few PAs compare to him, but considering that these were released back in 2013, and now at 2018 there's very few items with same quality still tells something. If he would release G8/3 version of these, I bet it would sell like hotcakes....

These autofit really well to G8M. And Stonemason included so many useful morphs to them, too, not to mention texture options. This is Michael 8 default body, with the lowrise and bulge morphs dialed up on the jeans.

All the pieces he made autofit nicely to G8M. Here again is Michael 8's default body, lowrise, crotch bulge and fit gun morphs dialed up on the jeans. The shirt has the "raise front" morph dialed up.

The artist's curse! I've read many interviews with highly accomplished actors who say they can't watch themselves on screen, they just cringe at all their "mistakes and flaws". Mistakes and flaws we cannot see at all but which to them overwhelm the whole of the work.  On the one hand, this haunts the artist. On the other hand, it drives him to always seek to improve even when already at the pinnacle.

I hope you at least take solace in the fact that to us these are examples of the very best items. But if you do feel challenged to make even better ones, well, my wallet is waiting!

Stoney, your work is superb.  I was admiring the shoes mesh.... really simplistic in allot of ways but very realistic.  If you ever decide to do a tutorial on how you model I'd love to see it.  Never enough info out there and everyone has their way of going about achieving their end results.

The Streetwear shoes we're made using photogrammetry and regular modeling, the jeans were just regular modeling.I think one of the reasons I did that clothing line was after seeing just how good the auto-fit system in DS was I saw that clothing no longer had all the mundane hurdles that we previously had in Poser..rigging in Daz Studio suddenly seemed very easy and you could focus mostly on modeling and texturing.

True that but weight mapping, for me, is still a nightmare esp in the underarm, leg and crotch areas.

I've said it often but Stonemason's clothes are the first thing I migrate to each new male generation, I've Irayed them and added Normal maps to the textures etc. to keep up but they are still my favourite jeans (and t-shirt and shoes). I'd love for a native G8M version as well.

YES, I agree that those SW clothes are grr-reat!!  The jeans looked, at that time, like real jeans in a way that no others did, and even now, few if any come close.  BUT... the one thing about those SW  jeans is that they have a decidedly 1990's style and vibe. I can't look at them without taking a trip down memory lane, and while I liked the style, when you're dressing a character you may not want him to look RETRO.   So, if SOMEONE  (hint, hint  ; )  to SM/SW) were to have an urge to revisit making jeans and other clothes, my wallet is already twitching with an-tic-i...............pation!
In addition to contemporary jeans, I'd love such a quality maker as SM/SW to let loose with some future-forward guys pants and clothes too; I mean, really, what should they wear which cruising the Urban Future 5 red-light district??  Ha Ha.   Back in the jurassic, the artist formerly known as (various names as aery soul, aeon soul etc) made some guys' pants with the fly angled across the front, and at the time those were very cool and different and showed up in all kinds of renders from fantasy, to s-f, to old-days, etc, but nowadays there's so few guy's outfits or parts that are interesting, well-made and distinctive in this way.  But we all know SM/SW could bring it, right!?

Perhaps DAZ should make more targeted advertising to book illustrator/cover artists? I'm pretty sure then we would have enough people buying male content. Of course we would need the classical "bodice-ripper" poses as well- and with shorter females, as most of these books feature one dominating male and a definitely more petite female.

Exacty! I am a book illustrator and cover artist. Most of my clients require the clothing that every day people would wear..and this material is very difficult to find. There is not much real life items compared to all the fantasy and sex styled items for sale :(

I think that 90's look is one of the reasons I don't like them ,funny as they we're meant to be straight legged and not tapered..better luck next time :)

Wishing you all the luck with that and the worn, denim jacket to go with them. :)

    Yes... a jacket please....wink

  • 3Ddreamer3Ddreamer Posts: 1,337

I admit I don't mind the 90's vibe so much, but I do flare out the bottom of the legs each time I use them - was working with them last night on a birthday card. I'll third the call for a denim jacket, wouldn't say no to a leather one either wink Well we can dream of more Streetwear clothes (and beg and plead).

I did start a leather jacket back when I was doing that Streetwear stuff..must dig it up and see if it's worth pursuing

Narquelir Kir. That, Wanted Dead or Alive, and Tales of Adventure/Legends, are sets that I *desperately* wish would get ported into Genesis 3+ territory by someone who knows what they are doing. I could autofit them to G1 pretty well, and I can still bully them onto current figures, but it's getting awkward.

And I have no objection to '90s style jeans. I'll be using the streetwear set as long as I can get it to autofit.

Dude, please... I know the arguments, I've been reading them for years.  If you could just maybe do one or two clothing items a year! I still use those items too...and I know lots of people who use the shoes as simply their go to item for everything.

Stonemason-Streetwear? 4 everyday-items and one sci-fi-suit- bought them all. Take any new one for sure! These old items look better and more realistic than most of the new d-force stuff.

It seems that for every main figure released there's less and less male content. Including characters. OK some might love an otter, I'd rather have a handsome Asian or Indian. Or Gianni, what happened to him?

And what is actually released is rather unsupported when it comes to clothes, hair, poses and items.

What was the idea with Potono for instance, was he Sakura's BF who got his bundles cancelled? And while I might have liked Beast and Biggun, they got nothing to wear, so I'd very little use for them. Why did none of them got military or scifi/dystopian or gangster outfits? I imagine trying to fit existing M8 clothes on Bigun would only work so-so and thus I passed on him.

    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/193186/underrepresented-wwii-uniforms

As a Canadian, I have to wonder where the Canadian uniforms are, but there are other uniforms I am interested in.

    Where are the British?

    Where are the French?

    Where are the Australians?

    Where are the Norwegians?

    What about the Soviets?

    What happened to the Greeks?

Wasn't there some sort of axis thing going on?  Where are the Italians and Japanese?

    And what about the Chinese?

Which service? Which division? Which threatre? Even which year? The problem with realistic uniforms is that they are, if not infitnitely variable, certainly divided into many forms - and if realism is the goal those differences are going to matter, with any individual purchaser likely to want only a few variants for only a few sides.

I just mailed Luthbel the creator of 'World War II U.S. Uniform HD for Genesis 8 Male' (https://www.daz3d.com/world-war-ii-u-s-uniform-hd-for-genesis-8-male-s) and he said that this pack was one of the worst seller and he does not have interest on making a new pack for German, British, Russian, ect.

I would also  like to see some WW1 uniforms.

Totally not the same kind of product, and they would likely be created by different vendors.

That's a PA item, not a DAZ Original, and he's totally not in the same style as Sakura.

Once again, those are PA characters. And they're G8M characters so they wouldn't have specific clothes, at most they would get clothes with a custom morph to support the shape if autofollow does not work well.

Luthbel's World War II U.S. Uniform HD for Genesis 8 Male? Didn't buy it instantly, beause I didn't realise the creator of this uniform at once, but now I do have it!

Even if I do no WWII renders, it will be absolutely useful for dystopian kitbashing. High Quality, as usual.

I buy male stuff more than female, but I guess I'm the minority.  I'm also a sci-fi niche kind of guy, with martial arts clothing a distant second, superhero stuff 3rd, and military cloths 4th.  I agree that the male content is not as good in quality as the female.  Are the male sales low because of quality or is the quality low because of lack of sales?  I would like to learn how to make my own cloths, but I don't have the time right now to learn, nor the desire to buy more software.
