Hmm, just tried with the 3D glasses I took away from when Avatar was playing in the theaters. Doesn't seem to work with this style of 3D render... :-(
Need glasses like this.
Threw all those out a long time ago.... Must be a rendering process that would make a "Real D 3D" render
its not really a "rendering process" per say. you simply render the image twice from two cameras in slightly different positions. Then the 2 images get combined in a 3D image compositor ( there are several free ones out there) a good one will let you choose what style glasses you are making the image for. I tend to do mine for red and green or red and blue simply because they are the cheaper glasses you can get, there are sites where you can get the paper ones free
Ah, OK. Thanks Lycan! :-)

...those just give me a headache.

You can also just forgo the glasses and use cross-eyed stereogram (like those Magic Eye puzzles). This has the advantage that it doesn't require any physical object from the user... but has the disadvantage that it does require a bit of practice on their part, and some people can't do it or find it uncomfortable. I used the technique with this image from a few years back; the triangle is a good focal point to choose. (Cross your eyes until the triangles overlap, then relax your eyes so the "ghost" triangle comes into focus, and 3D-Man should look, well, 3D. The background's pretty jumpy on this example, though; I've seen others do better.)
Yea, my eyes don't work like that! lol

...also doesn't work as I have 20-60 vision in one eye. I need the "new" type of 3D like they have at the Cinema today.
Image NSFW
For info on how to create stereoscopic images, do a google search on "anaglyph". The effect relates to the parallax between your left and right eye.
When I have made these, I added a G2 model and positioned two cameras with identical settings behind the eyes, then deleted the figure and grouped the cameras with a null node for positioning. Point the two cameras slightly to the middle, so the two centers of frame intersect at the object you want to be the main focus. Render out both camera images, and combine with your interlacing software of choice, with the traditional being the cyan/magenta filters, and the more recent using polarized light.

It requires practice, and I'm sure there are eye conditions that would prevent it from working, but visual acuity alone wouldn't indicate a person can't do it, assuming they had corrective lenses (when I said forgo the glasses above, I meant the 3D-glasses, not prescription eyeglasses). My own eyes are each far worse than 20/60; they're "can't even see the eye chart itself" bad.
The Wolverine
Looks great. Now you have to do "Old Man Logan" .... I hate they did that to him but I guess that's Marvel! lol
...whoa, that's one of the best renditions I've seen of Logan.
Do cartoon heroes and villains count?
Xpiderman: That is a terrific Wolverine. Great job there.
Lexbraid: Nice job making use of the more toonish morphs.
"Strange"
My take on Marvel's Doctor Strange. Eye of Agamotto, chain, ring and watch modeled in Carrara, the background and magic effects were made in Photoshop but used as textures to be rendered in the scene. A little bit of post-work in Photoshop, beyond the obvious compositing. Hair and beard are my first experiment with Carrara's dynamic hair.
Very nice. I like how you did The Eye of Agamotto!
Very cool. The Eye looks great!
...really cool.
If you thought you liked DC animated stuff...
If you thought the New 52, Multiversity, Covergence was interesting...

Very interesting stuff.....
Nice work with Strange, MDO2010, The Eye of Agamotto is just perfect.
Trying to get Iray right.
That Superman shot looks great.
...that almost looks like a still shot form a film.
I agree. Very cinematic!
...whoa, that's one of the best renditions I've seen of Logan.
Thank you, Kyoto Kid.
Catwoman made with Poser and Octane plugin
...puuuurrrrrrrrfect.
Had to step away from work...so played around with this yesterday
