Mine is very quiet. Wife and barely hear it running. The only real noise is when your breathing in and out you get a slight air flow noise. It's hard to explain, but as far as the machine its real quite. The one I used during the sleep study was very loud and I had a hard time sleeping cause it was so loud. Maybe mine is a newer model. I've had it about 4 yrs now but it was the newest model out at that time.
Well, it wasn't horrible but it was the first time I've ever called 911 for myself.
A couple decades ago I had a killer (almost literally) headache and decided to drive myself to the emergency room. That was a 2 mile trip I'll never forget.
They suspected that it was Menengitis so they had to take a spinal tap and of course there was nothing else they could do for me except give me pro grade Tylenol and put me on a cart, hook me up to fluids so I couldn't get away, attach the machine that goes "bing" and observe me for three days while they started a culture of my spinal fluid to see if it was Menengitis caused by bacteria or by virus. The culture would take three days to grow. The doctor was very encouraging though. He told me that If it was viral Menengitis I'd cure myself in three days, but if it was bacterial Menengitis I'd be dead in three days. 
Turns out it was viral (well, I don't remember dying but there were times during the first two days that I wished I had) and sure enough after three days attached to the machine that goes "bing" and bags of stuff so I couldn't run away (not that I wanted to, it was a pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy), the infection ran its course and I could go home. I had great health insurance at the time and was making lots of money so the cost didn't bother me. Now days, I panic whenever I think about the uncovered costs of a hospital stay in the US.
I have tremendous back problems and have had 7 surgeries to try to fix and help but nothing has worked well enough that I can work outside the house. I had a test once called a myelogram. They inject something and they put you on a table that rotates and they take a bunch of pictures. Well they neglected to tell me that there could be some after effects to the test. I ended up leaking spinal fluid and got the most horrific head ache. I couldn't stand and was throwing up nonstop. It was completely debilitating. I couldn't walk. My vision wasn't there. They had to wheel me into the emergency room. They called the Dr to see what was up and he said to lay me down immediately and he would be in. I had to have what they call a blood patch which is where they draw blood from your arm and inject it into your spinal column. I suffer from intense migraines but this was 10 times worse and wish it on no one.

...does not sound liek a pleasant experience at all. I sometimes aggravate a pinched nerve in my back which causes painful sciatica but that's nothing compared to what you went through.
I have friends who suffer with migraines and knowing how debilitating they can be, feel extremely fortunate that I don't have them. I;ll take my achy bones and joints any day over that.
sins of omission. not informing you of the risks, they should lose their licenses.
i've been asking people about their eye surgery, 2 of them resulted in permanent dry eye, damaged tear ducts, said they werent informed of the risk.

I am trying to reimagine Twilight. I am thinking of my Twilight based vampires be called Wraith. o.0 Why Wraith? Because I am stuck at what to call them. I already have Strigoi in my stories, so I decided Wraith. I am also trying to figure out how to fit in black wraith instead of just pale skinned wraith. So much to think about.

I have iTunes in which my library is 4000 strong. My everyday playlist is 1400 songs on shuffle.
I actually play my music with iTunes but downloading my Amazon music to play in iTunes. I forgot how many albums I have in my Amazon music. I also need to cut down all the unneeded play lists.
I need to be offically off the computer in seven minutes and start sleeping
I have no tattoos so nothing stupid indelibly etched on my skin to someday regret.

I guess I'm old school (well, older anyway). I have three storage boxes full of CDs 90%, of which are classical music mostly symphonies, concertos and piano sonatas .
The other 10% are '60s, & '70s rock bands. Everything's been ripped to digital and are available either on my computer or on a thumbdrive in my TV. I only buy MP3 or other medialess digital formats if I want a specific piece and it is no longer available (for a reasonable price) on CD. 
I do have a older style dedicated MP3 player about the size of a double wide PEZ dispenser that has about 30% of my collection but I rarely use it. And alas, I have no LPs or turntable anymore. 
I have LPs (2 large boxes of them) and 45s, but like you I don't have a turntable to play them on.
Speaking of classical music... My little adventure to Chautauqua was very enjoyable.
The Rachmaninoff 2nd piano concerto was superbly played. However, that being said... I was not terribly impressed with the acoustics. The orchestra drowned out the pianist a few times. Don't get me wrong, the piano came through loud and clear when alone or during the more sedate sections of the orchestra parts, even way at the top of the middle of the left side of the bowl where I usually sit. But several times the energetic orchestra parts drowned out the piano for irritatingly long periods. But in those periods, because the pianist was Alexander Gavrylyuk, I could see him waving his arms & elbows, bouncing on the seat, sweating like a pig, arching his back, throwing his head to the sky in the throes of orgasm and generally beating the keyboard to within an inch of its life but I couldn't hear a thing from the piano in places where I know the piano part is gut wrenchingly beautiful.

Itoo have LPs and 45s. Even have a couple of 78s. I also have or 4 turntables, so I can still enjoy my music
The feet of my turntable rotted off. The rubber. I don't know how to, or if I can, replace them. Good turntable. Quartz, PLL, direct drive. If I had the money, I'd get a new one that has both RCA and USB outputs, so I could rip some of my albums to CD. I have one, particularly, that I could never find on CD anywhere, and I've looked for many years on and off. Cold Blood: Sisyphus. Actually, I just did a search and found there is one, finally, but the review is that it's tinny in some respects, not a good transfer...plus it is two albums together. there are others I'd rip as well, but this one is the one that bugged me the most.
LPs were better in some ways. The cover art, and things they did with the covers, are not possible with CD cases. For instance, Jethro Tull: Stand Up...when you open the cover,artwork of the band pops up like a pop up greeting card. Three Dog Night: Seven Seperate Fools had giant playing cards with each of the band members on them. Led Zeppelin: III had a wheel in the cover and several cutouts on the front. When you moved the wheel, different images showed through the cutouts. You miss all those things with CDs.

Dana you could replace the rubber feet with hot glue ,or with some rubber washers ......
You can find all sorts of various sizes and materials of rubber feet packages in almost any hardware store.
Or, you could try dollops of silicon sealant. You know, the rubberish silicone sealant used around bathtubs & sinks. But I guess getting them all the same size would be a problem.
Better to look for appropriately sized rubber feet in a hardware store.
These aren't just little rubber bouncers. These were special feet that had springs in them, too, and screwed to the bottom of the turntable base. It was to reduce vibrations as much as possible. And I seem to have lost one of the springs, too. I think by now that I'd have to get a replacement cartridge as well. I haven't used it in almost two decades. Did I mention that money is not flowing freely lately?

...same here, three long milk crates plus another heavy box full. Primarily classical (some dating back to the 1950s), as well as a number of soundtracks some jazz (mostly early 1900s) and 60s rock & roll.
..when I was in radio I appreciated we still had LPs instead of CDs (those came into vogue about a year after I left). One could actually read information about the composer, performer(s), performance, and works from the liner notes to give more background to the listeners without needing high powered magnification.
Mine are all sorts, Classical, Jazz, Folk, Rock & Roll, Male Voice choirs, Military Band music, a little Pop Music (early Pop) and not forgetting Country music.
