Thanks Worlds_Edge!
The guys morph is a mixture of some characters and a lot of dailing all face morphs, especially the RareStone's Face Morphs Collection for Genesis 8 Male.
Sahel (running) and Lyra (being carried) in Bad Date Night 2

Haha, that's funny. what are you doing to my girls though...
I'd say its the best character I've seen to date.. Own it and its now my favorite.. Highly recommeneded. Can't wait to see what you do next... :) Was nice talking to you. I feel like you put some of our experience in her.
No, I don't have problems with G8 figures; its a shame if she only renders nicely in a studo environment.
It doesn't show the skin off to its best a lot of the fine details are lost.
I hope you can find a way to 'fix' this.
Not sure what you mean by she renders fine with clothes etc - I find she comes out dark whether I have her with hair and dressed or not, but if I adjust the lighting to get her to render less dark the clothes etc are overlit.
Don't think that's the case though, looking at all the renders here. Could always shine an additional spotlight on her and cheat a little. Happens all the time in real photo shoots. If it's a big issue I could make an adjustment and release it as a fix, which sucks because now all scenes people already made will look different. I think that's a none starter. Or I could add an additional preset for brighter skin, which is gonna suck too because that would need duplicates of each makeup option. Filling up the runtime and it'll be kinda confusing to use as well (MU 01 normal skin, MU01 brighter skin etc).
And then the part I mentioned which I don't quite get. Why do hair and clothes render just fine on her? If she was too dark, that stuff should be blown out as well. At the same time I do see she comes out a bit dark in some environment lit with just an HDRI. I'm currently making an adjustment to the next character so that it will be a good middle ground between realism/skin detail and balanced brightness in rendering. So these findings have already helped for the future, I'm just a little torn if I should touch Sahel again. Open for suggestilons though.
Quick and dirty fix would be lowering translucency, but that will make the skin look considerably more flat. Which may be more or less of a factor depending on the scene.
It is probably best to hope they will be rescued in time.
Well I'm looking at my promos and renders here, I see no blown out clothes and hair?
I like her color just fine.
If Sahel is dark, your lighting is inadequate. It's always the lighting. This shouldn't be a surprise.
You're not limited to studio shots.
Left to right, top to bottom: normal hdri only, bright hdri, bright hdri+spot+rim, beach hdri env 1.0, beach hdri env 1.5
No blown out clothes and hair either.
I've never found my lighting 'inadequate' before.
But its irrelevant - I have a solution to the problem.
These girls are fun to work with :)
I'm new to this, but I would have expected skin to look "normal" under "normal" lighting conditions... like in real life, where one would look quite normal with just basic sunlight being around.
I haven't yet noticed anybody suddenly turning into a beachbunny version of him-/herself by just being badly lighted in real life.
So, shouldn't a skin look "normal" under "normal" (basic) lighting conditions and better with more careful lighting done?
And I'd say Sahel isn't the only figure with this "problem", as I encounter the same with Old Chap with IRAY shaders, who looks like he had spend a bit too much on the beach for a month or three.
Final render of Sahel! Love her!
Her skin renders quite nice so far for me.
Thank you! I was super impressed with her modelling skills!!
For real, it looks like something from America's to model
@maikdecker "I'm new to this, but I would have expected skin to look "normal" under "normal" lighting conditions... like in real life, where one would look quite normal with just basic sunlight being around."
Two things to remember:
1. This isn't real life
2. A real camera isn't as good as your eyes and the render camera isn't as good as a real camera.
;) well Pluto needs ladies too and after being downgraded to not being a planet
these Plutonians probably think they are rescuing these ladies
Yes, it is a really nice character, but it would be greate to have separate morphs for head and body.
Would this implemented? I see it is not there on the product's page...
It's not currently separate.
No-brow presets are back, so update or re-download
thanks!
I assumed that after latest update 2 the warnings are gone but there are still a lot of JSON interpreter warnings in the DS log. It's only when loading Sahel. Can this be fixed ?
