... I figured since this was a thread for the figure I might do a render that shows the face texture a bit better.

Seriously, the eye textures are soo nice, also the little details like the lower eyeline and the lacrimal

  • Ok Diva. Got a dr appointment this morning so i can play when i come back home

I'm looking forward to seeing your renders! :)

PS - I hope that the doctors appointment goes well. You ok?

I'm good, just a checkup, thanks for asking.  Forgot to bookmark this thread so I didn't see your post Diva.  Here is my Sahel.  Didn't let her render long enough though, using my dad's PC and ran out of patience.  She is so gorg, love the feet especially.

  • Quick render to say thanks for a great character (sep head and body would make her even greater, hint, hint)

This is 76% Sahel with a bunch of other morphs added to get her more to what works for me. I wanted to test out the smile and this scene worked for that also. I also addded a little more sheen to the skin as it was too flat in this lighting. I do love the skin detail though

Wow!! Looks like somebody's had a little something done. And the boss doesn't seem to mind the inappropriate office outfit from the smile on his face.

  • I absolutely love this character.  Nice job!  Here is a very low sample Octane render.

    Really pretty

She looks so cute here. Nicely showing off the improved foot bends too.

  • Also love the foot morphs.  I added my own, but they help a ton.  I am into ultra realism so I can't wait to see the next release.

    Oh wow! Lovely render! :D

Does she come with the tattoo or is that a different product?

  • She's beautiful, with LOTS of character.  Had to have her.

Does Sahel render that dark, or did you make changes to her skin settings?

in the last few plays she did but it may have to do with the lighting I used and Lyra was a lot paler so think it's the lighting

I'm finding that without much stronger lighting than I normally use, she renders that dark I'm struggling to get her looking like the promos without washing everything else in the scene out

I'm finding the same thing.  She's rendering very dark for me.

    I'm on a rampage!

Much closer to the default Sahel morph this time.

For folks finding the skin too tan, I recommend turning the translucency weight down a hair in the material settings for the skin. In the above render I have it down to .72 (out of 1.0) and as you can see she pales right up

Do you guys have this problem with Genesis 8 Daz figures too? My skin setup definitely changed dramatically from Lyra to Sahel, it's more in line with the new Daz figures in terms of shader. I'll do some testing in none-studio type environments.

That looks great, though I advocate against lowering translucency. And I can't believe I'm saying this, because I was with you on the topic months ago. I've tuned this such a long time, way longer than I would ever admit. To make it feel as alive as it does, it needs that translucency. Everything is tuned to that, change it and it all falls apart. That's all I can reasonable say about the topic here.

Of course you're rendering in Cycles? Can't speak to that.  Nah probably not here eh.

I think it's about tweaking transluceny, I feel like she has a similar skin to monique, which came with translucency presets.

For me she's perfect as I always crank the translucency up, in fact I gave her a golden tan for my renders.

The skin ist great! As I am always looking for male characters, I tried her skin on the male figure. I'm really happy with this young guy. heart

No this is Iray, in cycles I use full SSS (no diffuse) and its glorious, I mostly turn down the sss a hair in Iray because Iray's SSS is.... fiddly and slow, bumping it down to .7-.8 speeds up rendertimes, (which is nice given if renders go too long my laptop overheats and the wifi cuts out)

Theoretically you could use full sss in iray and with the right settings there would be no darkening (render times would still take the hit though) but... fiddly. Messing with the sss settings with translucency weight at and above .9 tends to end with figures going bright green or tranparent. Not that I don't do it any way, but it takes a lot more time and effort than just lowering the translucency a hair.

This was an INSTANT BUY for me and "WOW!" doesn't even cover it!  But, "WOW!". She's just amazing.

Haha, thanks so much! And what a great render, so alive.

Note to nitpicky self, make tongue less bright.

By the way, the Sahel rendering too dark issue. I see it and I think I found a way to fix it (in the maps though, not settings). Isn't it weird though, she renders just fine with hair and clothes on? Shouldn't both these things be too bright if she was too dark? I'm finding that a bit confusing.

  • I actually like the tanned look looks natural seen fair few around here with a tan like that so in a way we get two skin tones which is cool

Well, according to Google, Sahelia is an area of Eritrea. So, that name would reference the same general area. I guess by now it is getting nearly impossible to think up a new character name that is unique and still pronounceable.

    Glorb, Splink, and Javaga.
