I've spent hours trying to do a male version of Sakura. Here's one version, but I'm not 100% satisfied yet. I'll try again whenever I get a chance...

    Sakura and friend.

Cute. Very nice work on the guy

    Thank you, ALLIEKATBLUE. :)

Well was definately hard to tell at first on my cell phone when I saw your post the first time lol.  I have most of the others  , sadly haven't used them as much as I would have liked over the years.

I would recommend trying another skin just to see what you are looking at better. I like what you have done.  But the blush kind of makes it hard to see what may need tweaking,  if anything honestly.

I would say you succeeded on the male.  Not sure what you were after, but I am getting a young anime 70's Neil Daimond vibe from him.

  • No offense to the creator.... but is it just my imagination that Becket would make a passable male with a little tweaking of the jawline and nose? And perhaps another skin?

Yes. Yes it is. lol She's quite feminine. I'm not sure where you're seeing "male" there.

So does Charlotte 8. And yet. http://fav.me/dbwy68z

I think Becket would make a fantastic start to a dude also, specifically because of the eyes which are much closer to a masculine manga style.

-chuckles-  Like I said I was just messing with her and realised she was looking like some of the male render from the creator of that outfit.   And see what I mean with only a couple of tweaks and Kenji 7 skin.

I think you're on to something, there. He does look masculine.

@noshobawolf_f994bf986d, she did turn out like a good companion for Sakura!

I took advantage of SY's flash sale to get SY Ultra Templates for Genesis 3 Female (+ a bunch of other stuff) and expand the wardrobe to use on Sakura. I had tried using Peony Kimono for Genesis 2 Female on Sakura before with little success, but using SY templates I was now able to auto-fit her and add some dforce magic. Here's the result + a post-work treatment of said result :) (got to say, the more I use this figure, the more fun I have).

  • Now that seriously worked well. I will have to spend the weekend trying to figure it out since I do want to put together a long flowing style miko outfit.

And yes lol, she kind of turned into something like an androgenous male that isn't quite bishie if you know what I mean.  Only reason I started thinking she would make a good male figure was when I did the first render I realised she looked .. pardon the phrase... flat as board.  Meaning no distortions in the mesh showing through the clothing.  All I did was go with smaller eyes and thinned down the lips. Actually looks more male with the Enkil skin vs Kenji.  Always pays to buy uv swap utilities when they come out lol.

If you want to render an equal split of men like me unfortunately you get used to looking for the beautiful man in everyone, lol

  • Hey I wasn't trying for a male. I was actually just messing around, unwinding after a bad day at work lol.

See, I think you did nail it. She/he reminds me of Sora, from Kingdom Hearts.

Until an official male companion comes out for Sakura, she's useless to me. Which is a complete shame as she's a nice looking figure. I'm not holding my breath though. the Stylized/anime character support for G8M is abysmal As of the date of this posting, one kinda fugly toon figure for G8M has been relased. That's it.

I understand your concerns, but the wise a$$ in me wants to ask, "What's the big deal?  You intend on 'breeding' them?"

But agin, I understand.  I would have been severely disappointed if Lady LittleFox had not released a male counerpart to her original "Melody" figure.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

OK, so the temptation to join the Sakura Male Challenge sub-thread here was too great cheeky  Here is Haruka, my attempt at a male version of Sakura, starting from the base of my previous "coffee-cup" render.  There are so many dials, it seems easy to make a lot of male figures.  The G3M clothes fit good, so a male figure just means I would have to spend more, lol.

As a comic artist, I like having my male and female characters looking like they belong to the same art style. With Aiko6/Hiro6 or Aiko7/Kenji this is very doable, even when you blend in other "DNA". but there is literally NOTHING to match the likes of Star or Sakura 8. So as amazing as those look, they'll never be of any use for me without a guy pal.

Oh I like that lol.  Hmm well since mine was based off Becket maybe I should call him Thomas.  - dives for cover-

The reason I want a male figure is I have some stuff I wish to do and need a male that matches up with the female stylistically. Also if you are doing something like a school render like you see in alot of anime you really need a male and female figure. I also do a good bit of Macross/ Robotech genre style as well so need both.

I never saw Kingdom Hearts  but I am surprised I came that close.  I saved the file so definately will keep fiddling with it lol.

As 3dOutlaw said  by calling it a subthread , I see this as maintaining momentum for her to see more development and products.   Plus the way Daz has been putting out new characters it keeps her from getting lost in the shuffle so to speak,

Thanks for the freebie.  But was the wording right . It is used on G2F?

  • It worked but for not loading the brows and lashes.
