quick render - playing with some light setups and some postwork techniques

Interesting, what effect were you going for!?

    CHEERS!

nothing specific, just playing around :)

It's fun when you do that,

That's often how my best renders come about. I was playing around when I imported the UberEnvironment light into Poser.

    CHEERS!

PS (How long do Daz Sales normally tend to last, the M4 Elite textures that Yannek did are 50% off right now. I can afford one of them right now and the other 2 I want in 2 weeks. Knowing my luck, the sale will be over when I want to get them!)

EDIT: Just got Rob, so that's Jeremy and Lee to get in 2 weeks.

AAAAAAGH!!! Just thought, if I'd only waited a couple of days I could have got the Rob & Marie Bundle for just shy of what I paid for Marie alone!

Roger here are some comparisons using the same sets DS lights vs Lux all created more or less the same way

    DS LDP2 http://fav.me/d48hg8x Luxrender http://fav.me/d5hn3lq

    DS lighting http://fav.me/d3iq2s1 Luxrender http://fav.me/d5m75dm

Based on those, the Daz LDP2 looks the best. If you're not going to adjust anything in Lux then you might as well not bother and just use LDP2.

    CHEERS!

    We will agree to disagree

    Fair enough,

I really like the graphic novel style, so keep it up and I'll concentrate on the content and not what created it.

I find Lux gives me results I am happy with. I am with you on not "needing" to use it heck my fans still favor the early crap I made to this day. Like you say they are more a fan of the story concept. Lux has gotten faster and has a brilliant feature called the "Importance" brush that lets you select areas with more noise and it vanishes in no time. Kyoto funny you mention Cloud 9. It had become my fave outdoor lighting. Yesterday thats the light I tried when I went back for the 3Delight render. I was simply not happy with the result. Maybe because its been so long who knows...

Firefly gives me serenity, though I'm hoping Reality arrives before summer. (See if you get the references!)

Below is Rob, all I can say is "WOW!!",

If it weren't for DSON, Caisson, Snarlygribbly and of course Yannek, this would not have been possible.

I've GOT to get the rest of his textures now!

    I know,

Those Yannek textures rock when you use EZ Skin 2. They used to look awful because you couldn't do anything to the textures before that you could do in DS with the Elite Human Surface Shader. It's only because you can now use all the bells and whistles that EZ Skin turns on that they look as good as they do.

They looked reasonable with basic IBL's, but, when you got more sophisticated with the lighting, they looked awful. Finally, the textures are as sophisticated as the lighting and look what's happened!

    Oh BABY!

    BTW,

If you want the Lana texture dirt cheap she's $8.99 in the current Fast Grab! Better look and see if they put more up in the next few days. Might be able to snag Jeremy and Lee for a song, you never know.

If you see either of them as FG's before I do, please let me know!

    That is really nice,

I might try out some full scenes at some point and see how the UberEnvironment light lights them.

This one was interesting the sky light that comes with Reality has no clouds so the characters & woods were rendered as a lux alpha layer bridged in with an LDP2 sky backdop chased

Its that darkish indoor lighting. It can be tricky. Its they way Lux handles how it handles materials that I like. I do get a lot more compliments on my skin details then i ever did using 3Delight. I tried rendering this one with Cloud 9 1st & it looked a lot more "cartoonish" Kids
