I need to go to sleep soon or tomorrow will be awful.  might become PC again this weekend.  is 3 month smallest one can get if one already lost PC?  3 months or annual only options?

...yes.  There was a deal recently to get an annual membership for half price with buying one other item but I believe it was only on for one week.

I am not seeing any PC membership deals tonight.  I do not think I am but I also misplaced my glasses.

...38° and cloudy here on the eve of Christmas Eve.  May need to do some minor food shopping (for the holiday) today instead of tomorrow as the forecast is calling for ice with temps hovering around freezing all day.  At that point I'd rather it just got colder and snowed.

Had a good time last night at the local hangout, got several free drinks including a glass (not just a shot) of Laphroig Scot's Whiskey.  On one of the tellys they showed the original animated Grinch that was followed by the 1938 version of, The Wizard of Oz.  Also decided to splurge a little and have some good beer instead of the usual industrial swill. Paced myself so didn't get totally drunkapated (actually not very fun as you get older) and woke up fine this morning.

Football today, Ravens with the ball leading the Colts in the 4th.  Green Bay (sans Aaron Rodgers) faces Minnesota in a meaningless game (since the Packers were knocked out of the playoffs last Sunday with that loss in Carolina) at 5:30 local time here. Would be amusing if they defeated the Vikings with their backup QB.

Does anyone know where my tape is?  I have two things to wrap and I cannot find the tape.

The elves needed it. Try some water and flour. Mix like pancake batter, boil and use asap.

Man, it's going to be a beautiful day - tomorrow and Tuesday, also. 59-68degF!
Going to ride, and ride! Chinese restaurants wherever I find them!
The new seat is really comfy, and I just bought some lined chaps to keep my legs warm.
And some cold-weather gloves. The heated vest has been ordered.
    Motorcycle weather!

Leaving in a few minutes to spend Christmas with my girlfriend, neither of us have other family.
Bought her a tuner chip for her Mustang for Christmas. There's a set of Engineer boots under
her tree for me. Gonna be a great day.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

Yep!  Bad weather has set in.  A little late though.  I expected ice this morning when I got up but it was continuing to rain until about 11:45 AM when it all of a sudden turned into snow.  Lots of snow.  Heavy gloppy snow.  And the temperature is falling fast.  By tonight it's expected to fall to 16F  (about -8C).  Snow for the next three days, then just cold, cold cold.

FROZEN WATER FROM THE SKY!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO! :-O

54f here right now, not too bad.  Mid-50s for Christmas, then cold rain the day after.  No sign of freezing temps all next week, lowest is supposed to be about 36f, which isn't too bad.

Most burger supplies in, but they were out of burger buns! WTF?!?!?!? Truth be told I can do without the carbs, and I can use lettuce leaves instead of buns anyway.  Could be worese, they could have been out of cheese!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone Down Under!! Merry Christmas Eve to everyone else!

...32° and actual frozen water (not snow) falling from the sky right now.  So nice to be inside.  Going to warm up a bit tomorrow (mid 40s) and no water of any sort from above, so the ice should go away. After that mid 40s and rain for midweek into Friday.

Weather forecasters here aren't doing so well.  Perhaps too much holiday cheer?  It barely froze last night and still 32F this afternoon.  It stopped snowing last night.  But the prognosticators are saying it will be a high of 8F on Wednesday.  We'll see!..... I'm keeping score. devil

And now for something completely different.  I inherited a customer's old computer after I set up his brand-new 24" Dell All-In-One Touch Screen machine.  (Ooh, shiney!).  But he didn't want to bother disposing of the old machine so I let it follow me home.  Unfortunately it's a runt.  It's a 2GB, 32-bit, Vista-Basic Machine.  I've been his computer tech ever since he bought it and it has always been klutzy.  (You should have seen it before I convinced him to double the memory from 1GB to 2GB surprise).  Regardless, now I have it and am not sure what to do with it.  I've outgrown my instinct to mother every stray that wanders into my lab.  I don't even strip them down for parts anymore.  It's so old even the parts are useless. frown  I've thought of trying to find a copy of a 32-bit WinXP to run on it but I already have two XP machines gathering dust in a corner waiting for me to dig out an old game that needs playing on an XP.  I don't even have a boat for which it could serve as an anchor.  I guess it's fate is sealed and will end up at the "transfer station" (politically correct phrase for "dump").  However, since we have to pay $10 to get rid of monitors I did at least add $10 to my bill for service.

PS: Watching this old Vista-Basic runt run in 2GB RAM is sad.  It's like watching the circus fat lady change clothes in an airplane restroom.  Yeah it can be done but it ain't pretty. surprise

The internet slow tonight.  I'm surprised the other servers have not timed out.

update: The domain name server went down.  I had to program my wireless adapter to use some domain other name servers for now.

update 2: Maybe the wireless adapter is acting up?

...well Santa doesn't need ice skates anymore as it has now turned to snow and coming down pretty good.  Not the usual heavy wet gloppy stuff we get here but the fine powdery kind.

Kind of miss the old neighbourhoods now as they were a little higher in elevation and it probably changed to snow there earlier.  Also very pretty with all the old homes and yards rather than just concrete and high rises.

Have you tried resetting the wireless adapter? I have a Netgear one and every-once-in-awhile I have to disconnect the power supply from ir, wait 20 seconds, and then plug the power supply back in.

My old Vista machine is now my Linux box that handles the internet for me.
I figure if it ever goes butter-side-down I won't lose much. (Bookmarks and passwords are backed up, natch).

...dropped to 28°, perfect snowfall weather. even the streets and pavement where I am are becoming snow covered.

  • Going to have delicious delicious pizza for Christmas Eve.

  • Definitely need to refill a tire tomorrow, ugh.

43f at 8:06pm, not too bad. Dry as a bone so I hopeSatan Claws has wheels on the sleigh.  Just killed off an entire jar of French Onion dip while watching Z-frade movie 'Santas Slay Ride'.  Never seen anyone kiulled with a tree-topper before, very cool.  Now binge-watcing 'Top Chef Masters', no idea why people put themselves through this on TV.,  Sipping hot double bergamot Earl Grey tea with a shot of vodka in it, soooo warming.

Cookies with rat poison out for Satan Claws.  Heh.
