    I should replace the heatsink fan on the computer processor before I play with Lux Render again.  AMD CPUs run hot.  The CPU reaches 130 degrees F.  I guess the heatsink and fan is too small for a six core processor performing many calculations at once.

    edit: I don't know if the core or package tempurature is hot.  It doesn't really matter though.  I'll post a screenshot of the temperatures if I remember later.

    no I am trying to decide what to watch.  I know Thor is not a mermaid who rides a pony once upon a time to flee walking dead. Oh wait Thor would be a merman instead of a mermaid.

    actually animated procedural bump/displace textures have worked well for that for years, is pouring or spraying or otherwise turbulent waters that need fancy software :)

    My old ipad died complaint, took it to the 'shop but the guy shook his head while he took my $$, some kind of resurrection doesn't look good I guess :0  Also is freezing cold here today waaahhh <^^>

    I'm useless at boiled eggs - it's a definite skill. Mine are either half cooked or come out like rocks. Even with a timer!

    I'm not sure if this is true in DS but in both Carrara and Blender most of the passes don't actually require lights (depth pass for example) so if you forget to turn them on the first time, when the render is done, just turn off all the lights in the scene, turn on your other passes and re-render. With no lights it goes like lightning and you still get your other passes.

    Now I'm humming 80's songs to myself trying to figure it out based on this. cheeky

    Possibilities:

    • Out of Touch - Hall and Oates?
    • Jungle Life - Baltimorra?
    • Self Control - Laura Branigan? (just suggesting this one because when I googled your "um wum way ayyyy oh oh ahhhh" I found someone on a another website who asked almost the same question and thought they were looking for a male singer, but then they found the song they were looking for and it turned out to be this one. surprise

    Found out earlier that NextLimit discontinued Maxwell v2.  I mean like, literally discontinued it. Can't even download it from my account there.  I don't have the $800 on hand to purchase v3 (The window to get a disctount on an upgrade has long since passed too)  but I rarely used the engine anyway and couldn't wrap my head around the material and lighting system in it, so it's not a big loss in any rate.  Mostly used Vray and Indigo.

    Hmmmm... full GI probably would need the lights turned on since it's actually calculating light bounces, but Ambient Occlusion only (if that's an option) shouldn't.
