...well a very good non complaint for once.

Received a call this morning that my application for the apartment was approved and I can move in early next month.  Heading down to put in the key deposit in a little bit.  Finally a place of my own with all the comforts and everything on the same floor.

I can uncross my fingers now?

I never could figure out how to get this effect to last more than just a few frames :/

This is the render slowed down to like.... Well, very slow. The transition effect only lasted three or four frames, and nothing I did made it last any longer.

I got the effect by using a Noise shader in the transparency channel and a duplicated version of it with a higher contrast in the Luminance channel,  but I just couldn't get it to slow down any.

You may.  Whether or not you can is another question.   laugh

Decided to put the lil guy in an actual scene instead of an infinite white void or a checkered stage.

...yeah having to read threads from the last post backwards as after I click on the link in the ebot it often takes me to the bottom of the page.  Can't upgrade FF anymore than I already have as the newer versions no longer support older 32 bit systems.

Might have to dual boot a Linux distro from a USB stick and use Midori or a similar modern/web kit browser from there :0

    the great nanas scare

What is it with cats and cucumbers, and now also bananas?  Do they somehow think it's a snake?

    Dana

Our first cat here got into a starring match with a marrow - it was stem-end towards her and we think the stem and remains of the flower looked like a face with the swell of the marrow looking like hips. She lost.

It's odd, considering cats have such good vision and depend on that and their sense of smell for hunting...that they'd mistake vegetables and fruit for a predator or enemy.

    Dana

    ...well they are carnivores.

Though for some reason, the cat we used to have when I was growing up loved cantaloupe, watermelon and green beans.

we nicknamed ours "Melon Licker" and "Obligate Cornivore"

...actually the former owners here left a Linux notebook behind and the other week they already told me they are not coming back to get anything more.  Need to get a power brick for it but that won't be hard.

So a web series I've been watching just released an episode the other night.  Was a lot of fun and overall a great episode... Then it ends with one of my favorite characters from the series getting shot :<

    Epi's name was "Quicksave", and one of the other characters was talking about his creation in a way that suggested it was a time machine,  so I'm holding out hope that they pull something to keep the guy around instead of killing him for good and forever ;v;

Will have to wait a week to see what happens next though wah, long time to be left waiting.

In other news I managed to salvage a few of my model/scene collections, though some things are still missing.  Still fiddling with that raptor scene too hah,  I keep tweaking things and re-rendering stuff a bunch.

Scratch that,  trying to redownload one of the files from the store I purchased it from but with no luck.

Firefox?  Gets to 50 ~ 60mb  then the download fails.

    Chrome?  Ditto.

    Safari?  Same as above.

It's a 280mb file, and no browser seems to be able to get it downloaded :/

Sounds like the purchase store's server has a problem. Do they have customer support?

Yeah I contacted 'em and they provided an alternate download. Got it without much hassle after that. :)

Yesterday I managed to rescue all of my books from old flat to new one, together with gazillion of other things, and now just looking at all those things requiring sorting, putting on some shelves and so on makes me so tired I slept through most of today. Kind of sad to see past 12 years of life in form of bags, cardboard boxes and miscellaneous piles of stuff :(

...I used to do that before I finally got my own Net service. Got to the point my monthly coffee tab was costing me more than just getting Net service at home.
