Thank you Gone for spelling it out like that as I haven't had a chance to keep up with the information and I didn't realise the intention of Garabaldi. Now that I do know the scaling makes sense.
I want to apologise for the break in progress here but I've had to address several other commitments over the last 2 months. Hopefully things should be more back on to normal now.
As a part of the on going support to 'Garibaldi Express' customers, today's update presents:
Garibaldi Express version 1.1 Release Candidate.
http://www.garibaldiexpress.com/beta
This is a great chance to get a copy of the next release of 'Garibaldi Express' before the general release takes place.
forgive me if this has been asked before, but are you planning to make presets for Garibaldi? I personally prefer Garibaldi over LAMH but their presets make it desirable. I'd love a catalog of Garibaldi presets from crew cuts to flips to full bodied hairdos.
Holy cow!!! Just say his name and he appears.
It's like...........magic - or something. : )
Grabbed the update. No install issues. Did a quick run through with no problems. Have to hit it a bit harder later.
...cool, but I think I forgot my password to sign in. I have so many sites I am on (mostly for job hunting) that I find myself getting mixed up on which password goes with which site.
Our favorite Biscuit is back! Yay! :)
Well, this came out better than I expected.
Sometimes, I think I might actually know what I'm doing! : D

You can save Wearable Presets of any Garibaldi Hair. Just parent the hair to the figure, select the figure and do File>Save As>Wearable Preset. Then select the hair nodes to save.
Thanks for the heads up about the update.
As a part of the on going support to 'Garibaldi Express' customers, today's update presents:
Garibaldi Basic version 1.1 Beta.
http://www.garibaldiexpress.com/beta
This is a new complimentary product to be released along side 'Garibaldi Express' version 1.1.
'Garibaldi Basic' will be a freely distributed version of 'Garibaldi Express' for DAZ Studio with the prime objective to facilitate the wider adoption of content created with 'Garibaldi Express'. It will offer the ability to load, view, apply basic style edits, render and save existing 'Garibaldi Express' content.
So, Garibaldi is going to have a free hair player.
Now we just need a library of hair presets for them to use. lol
A gentle nudge to see if anyone is awake. LOL
Niiiiiiice! I like the facemorph too!
Thanks. Did you even notice the hair? LOL
This is a hair thread after all! ROTFLMAO
Oh ... I am afraid I just saw that sweet face ...
The hair obviously is really good, because it wasn't jarring and taking my concentration away. :)
Uh huh. Had a feeling you weren't looking at the hair. LOL
Maybe I should start using generic models for this thread.
Mind you, it would be nice to see other peoples efforts. Certainly lots of views on the thread - someone must be making hair. : -)
On a side note, has anyone tried the Garibaldi Basic hair player?
Something different this time. It's all about the body hair. : )
For all 3 guys, the distribution amount, styling, clumping, and tweaking are the same. The only thing that changed is the distribution map and colour settings.
All you eagle eyed inquisitives probably noticed the sharp cutoff on the middle guy. That's because the hair goes all the way down to include pubic hair - but, since that would be a TOS violation, I just turned off the hip map zone. : )
Decided to ramp up the quality and let this run overnight.
Nice hair do Gone.
I must admit when I played with this plug-in for a bit it sure was fun, tweaking this that and the other. I can't wait until I can do more with it.
Yeah, it is fun! : ) I just wish I had the talent to do more complex/interesting hair styles.
Anyway, this fellow is sporting the body hair from a couple of posts ago - just more of it; the head hair is something I made a few months ago - just spent a couple of minutes recombing and changing the colour; and the collar/chest ruff is new - and that has me thinking about more exotic body hair designs.
Going to have to ruminate on this for a bit. : )
This. The red bob!
Want, want, want!

That doesnt actually answer my question lol.
What i mean is, will they sell a catalog of preset hairstyles so we can one-click up some nice hairdos?

In the download section of the Garibaldi site, there are the 3 sample scenes. As I understand it, the intent was to open this section for preset downloads - including ones made by users.
With the release of the first beta of the Garibaldi Basic free hair player, the need for a preset library becomes critical since that is the only way anyone will be able to use Basic. As for selling presets, I expect anyone can submit a package to DAZ for the store but I have no idea what the criteria for acceptance would be.
I would be willing to offer many of the hairs I have shown here to a download site if anyone was interested - but it is unlikely that there will be a free download site or any hair sales if no one speaks up to say they want it.
And, of course, there is the whole issue of a consistant directory structure for placing the hair. : ) Personally, I would want to keep all the Garibaldi hair in one place where it is easy to find rather than mix it in with all the other hair products. After all, you can make hair for anything - not just people. : ) : )
Oh - and then there is the issue of compatability. I'm using the 1.1 version of Express available from the Garibaldi site. Any hair created with 1.1 will not work in 1.0. Hair created in earlier versions will work in newer versions - but hair created in the newer versions will not work in older versions. Cycle of life. : )
So , I guess the moral of the story is - if you don't speak up, you don't get. : )
My message two messages above yours ... does it count????
Pretty please?
(OK, I don't have 1.1, but it will probably be available somewhen for previous buyers, no?)
I would hope that any traffic counts. : )
To get 1.1, go to the top of the previous page. Futurebiscuit has a link to his beta page. If you have already signed up to the beta site, you can go directly to the forums.
The top 2 threads are for Garibaldi Basic (public build 18) - that's the free hair player and Garibaldi Express (public build 17) - that's the 1.1 upgrade. The download links are in the threads.
While these are called betas, I've been using it for months without issue. It should be noted that the Express has no time limit and requires that you already have 1.0 installed but the Basic will time out - I believe it expires in August but I can't remember for sure. If he follows his previous beta release pattern, then there will be a new beta by then - or the final will be released if there are no problems.
It wouldn't be fair to FutureBiscuit to download the Betas to use your hair ... and I don't have time at the moment to betatest for him. So I will be patient.
I registered my plugin, and for the beta site but never got any confirmation mail. Is it automatic, or do I have to wait for Futurebiscuit to to approve signups?
Sorry, guess I should have been a bit more clear.
If you look at the message I referenced, you will see that Express is identified as 1.1 release candidate. It is not a beta anymore. I don't know why it hasn't made it to the store yet, but I expect that it will be the same file when it does get there.
Basic is a beta, but if you already own Express then you don't want Basic anyway unless you would like to do beta testing - which you don't. : ) In any case, Basic does the job it was designed to do. I identified a couple of areas that might cause some confusion to a Basic user but nothing that would cause problems like crashes or freezing.
Sign up should be automatic if I recall correctly. Just follow the 3 steps and your in. In the forum, go the the thread and scroll down. Just before you get to the messages, there is a white box of info on the left side of the screen. In here are the links to the various versions (Mac/PC, 32 bit/64 bit). Select the one you need and download.
Has anyone made eyebrows with Garibaldi Express or Look at My Hair?
