Orange banner here too... but I was getting that discount before the banner showed up. It is kind of a good deal because I don't have Olympia 7 or the add on bundle... but I'm not really a big Greece/Amazon render kind of guy...

One thing I'm seeing is the last deep dive on prices was in December 2016. It seems like stacking glitches have been far less frequent on DAZ lately. The errors all seem to swing in the favor of the discounts not applying as deeply as they should.

Yeah, I think they've definitely fixed that awesome stacking that we used to get. Sad for the customers but probably good for the PAs... maybe. I mean, I definitely spent way more and bought WAY more than I would have otherwise when we did get those great stacking sales. So I guess it could be argued that getting rid of it might even be costing them money and sales.

My purchases are way down too. I've got a large library and the ability to kit-bash most things and I'm learning modeling in Hexagon and Carerra. Lately when I see something I want, I wonder to myself, "could I make basically the same thing fairly easily in Hexagon? A lot of times, I feel like the answer is yes.

Yeah, I've been buying less as well. But hey, as fun as buying/installing content is as a hobby, rendering/making things is way nicer laugh

That's the same thing that goes through my head now that I'm learning ZBrush. However, the amount of hours that goes into creating most things isn't an easy thing to find. The whole "time is money" thing is a factor. I think, 'hey I could PROBABLY make something SIMILAR to what this PA did, but the crazy amount of hours it would take to do it...' yeah. Time is money. You have to figure up how much it would cost in dollars vs how much it would cost in time. Sometimes it's worth it to do it, other times it's worth it to buy it. Most of the time the buying wins out vs the crazy hours in ZBrush. lol Not to mention, I'm still not very good at creating things. lol Time will tell if I still have the same attitude once I learn how to model and texture better.

That in a nutshell. I modeled a toon character for someone, and it gave me an appreciation of what's involved. I wish the people who complain about "high" prices HAD to do that, they might change their tune. Now if a set is at least 40% off, and it's complicated-  I buy it. I don't wait for 60% if it's something I will use. The time it took to learn Z Brush and do what I considered really good- well, months and months and months. No thank you.

The store still glitches but you have to be ultra fast to catch it. One time last week, two of the stores meant to be in the scrolling banner went Flash Sales in the banner for two minutes, 60% off instead of the meh offering that came out a few minutes later in the correct promo. I'd never seen THAT glitch so didn't think it was one, took my time, prices flashed/changed and poof, the scrolling promos were gone for that Flash sale.  That was one for the books- I've been shopping five years and two stores on Flash sale for two minutes?  So you see a Flash, SHOP. Post about it after!

I slept on the Daz midnight for the end of that last i13 sale. After a massive spree on day 1, I filled the cart and had another $47 in the cart. Daz midnight came and when I went to check out after seeing a passable new sales start, the cart was at $165.

I  wish they'd bring back mine too, but I don't remember which two it was, unfortunately.  I had four windows open at the same time, trying to see which stores, if any, overlapped. I developed that habit during March Madness. yes  I got so surprised I went on shopping on the other open windows and just closed it out, figuring it might come back.

With flash sales and Fast Grab, if I see something I really, really want at a price I can afford, I don't hesitate. I grab it immediately. But if I'm on the fence about it, I put it in my cart and let it sit. If the price changes at Daz Midnight, I dump the cart... and breathe a sigh of relief! Another (budget) bullet dodged!

So, what's the PA sale like? Is it one of those where discounts are revealed progressively over several days?

LOL...I tend to do the same.  There are sooooo many items that I've put in my cart and either taken out again or let sit until the price change.  It's not that they aren't good items...just usually very close to something I already have, or something that is cool but not sure that I'll get much use out of it.  For instance, I've got at least half of the dragons.  But, I buy them because they are cool.  I think I've done maybe two dragon renders our of hundreds.  I see a lot of items like this.  The stuff in the Ophelia 8 Bundle is awfully similar to many other items I already own.  And, O8 just isn't much of a character in my opinion.  I could be wrong...just not being grabbed by the promos.  So, it's been sitting in my cart for two nights.  I'm on the fence because there are still a couple of items in the older pro bundles that I'd like to have...just deciding if it's worth $66 to me, or if I should just wait and buy the items individually when I can afford them.

At this point I assume the PA sale will be a fixed extra discount on backlist, with a few 'catch up sale' days where pretty much the whole store is on sale, and otherwise business as normal.

PC+ sale will have a 40% discount on Daz Originals for PC+ members instead of 30%, plus lots and lots of collections of very-cheap old PC+ stuff and lots of new PC+ releases.

I signed up for the Platinum Club at the end of the PA Festival in 2014, and had no idea what all those punch thingies were about. The year after that, they tried a different approach to the punch sale, where punches didn't expire at the end of the week, but in a set number of days. Basically, if you bought something every day, you could get a big discount on pretty much everything. But people didn't like it, so DAZ changed it. And those of us with punches got a set discount for the remainder of the sale. Worked out great for me, I got 64% off eveything that wasn't excluded. Last year's sale was different still. I don't recall exactly what the offers were, but I do recall longing for the 64% discount I'd had the year before!

The main thing here is every "event" sale they try to do things differently. So there really is no way to predict what they will do this year. The only thing I think you can count on for the PA Festival is there will be days when every single vendor will be included. People wait all year for this sale because they know they can get products on sale that otherwise "never" go on sale.

Sometimes; sometimes not. The sales used to be on a fairly stable pattern, but over the last five years or so, there have been lots of different types tried out. Sometimes they even work with only a week of jumping up and down on the website coding and kicking the store database (in other words, expect things to be a bit weird at first and keep an eye out here on the forums for aaargh-it's-all-gone-worng threads). After the web coders are finished playing whack-a-bug, though, you can expect some very good offers, especially for people new to the DAZ store who might not have a lot of content yet.
