It was a freebie Mec4D gave out in her birthday thread some time ago, limited download time I'm afraid. It was only available for a week or two. It was called 80s Mullet Hair for G2M. Maybe if you asked her nicely she'd share it with you but the download link she published has expired.
I wasn't aware there was an icon to remove anagenessis. I remembered some reset icons but those are gone now for me, perhaps with the latest update. I thought the only way to remove it was to revert to a previous save or re-apply the original skin mats.
Okay, I gave in and bought it, my experiments with the free version were sufficient to suck me in. Not perfect likenesses but on the path. However for me, I don't necessarily want photorealistic recreations of celebs. I like to have, as Will Timmins said, a gene pool to mix that result in interesting faces. Plus the David Bowie experiment yeilded a texture I really like, interestingly enough. The neck is jacked up on it but I think I can fix it. Anyway if I can get five or six textures out of it and five or six useful face templates, worth it.
That and the workflow to get rid of the FG carved in the forehead and baked into the texture didn't seem fair to the vendor so it was either buy or walk away and seems that, while pricey, I'll use it a lot so took the plunge.
If you go under Materials in the Anagenesis product, there are icons to reset Genesis. Also icons for "highkey" which I haven't tried yet.
Can you guys post more renders using this program?
Nope, it was a gift for a couple of weeks only and not a sale item. The post where she released it is here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/58276/mec4d-s-celebration-with-freebies-commercial/p39
She's a fantastic creator and her freebies were amazing. Like I said, maybe she'd share it with you if you PM her.
Well, you have the wrong guy dancing with Putin LOL, but the likenesses are great!
I have had Face Gen for a long while & have a FG Bowie test image (attached)
I have plenty of tests I could post but I don't really try to get an "exact" likeness of well known people so they would not help anyone undecided on buying this
For me its well worth the money to get interesting faces & to provide a base to sculpt further in a modelling program & have never regretted buying this - If/when there is a G4 I would definately upgrade FG
I think I may be using Anagenesis wrong although when I used it once on my Mac, I got great results.
Anyway here is a comparison of the morph and skin from FG (no photo) and the same morph with a PA texture. I purchased the new version but haven't installed it yet, this is still the demo on G2. I like the FG version much better even if the skin is blotchy. I could fix that in Photoshop or use a different IRay shader or learn how to use Anagenesis correctly LOL and I think it looks MUCH better than the same morph with a PA texture!
FG skin/morph with Beautiful Skin IRay Genesis 3 on Genesis 2. (So either neck or chest was not handled correctly) I have a couple of more IRay converters so it will be interesting to see what the differences are! But I'm liking this so far and this is G2, can't wait to try it on G3! I'm really liking creating skins within FG, rather than using photos...
Yup, thanks to Facegen another studly hunk joins the 'beautiful people'. He's single and looking for lurve - exciting times ahead for Victoria 7! :)
Cool Bowie!
I admit I'm having fund with the demo, almost ready to get to full version I think now that I am understanding it better.
Even though this one isn't an exact match to Bruce, it does make for a good character
Instantly recognizable as Bruce Willis.
If/when there is a G4 lmao you mean when
That looks pretty spot on to me! I bet if you put the right filters on it (and took the FG off his forehead) and maybe made it black and white, you could get people to believe that's a photo of him!
And what shirt is that? It's the best shirt I've seen!
The Dr. is in the House....!
Nice one Lindsey
Thanks Alicia. The shirt is part of this set http://www.daz3d.com/eldritch-seeker
Here's another one because he's from my fav Sci Fi show and I found a great HD headshot, recognizable?
Here is another Facegen character for G3 using a photo of one of those Ryan guys.
I reckon this is John Sheppard from Stargate Atlantis
You guys are getting some impressive results. I must really suck at this. But I did manage a better likeness with your pic, grinch, thanks. I messed with the eyes using another pic as a source, and changed the brows.
Joe Flanagan Stargate Atlantis! Stargate SG-1 is one of my favorite shows LOL... But I like the whole franchise. I covered as press a Stargate convention in LA in 2009 and wrote kind of a funny article about it that was on a now-defunct Hollywood online magazine. But I have posted the article on my own site and it has a paragraph on Joe Flanagan: http://www.popculturetoday.us/geek-fun/stargate-convention-2009-revisited#.WK-Xw5E76hA He seems like a REALLY nice guy!
I love everybody's celebrity pics so far, especially 'House'. The latest Bowie is a lot like him too. I don't do sci-fi much so I couldn't guess the Stargate one. Football is more my thing, which is why I attempted England international Wayne Rooney from what was admittedly not a very good image. I can see a slight resemblance sometimes when I look at it, other times I can't see it at all. I think I've probably been looking at it for too long. I'm not sure how well Rooney is known to the rest of the world, but that smattering of 'transplant trying to take' hair at the front of his head is actually fairly typical. My biggest problem with choosing him as a subject, which I realised a bit too late, is that he is a lot more well known here for the shape of his head than for the shape of his face. In the end, the best I could do was take him into Daz Studio and give him such a negative cranium slope that it's a wonder his polygons didn't go pop. Extreme, but when you choose to recreate someone known to loads of people as 'Squarehead' or 'Shrek', extreme is the only way to go :)
The cranium slope was the only adjustment I made to the mesh outside of Facegen as I didn't want to misrepresent what the program could do to those still thinking of buying, but Rooney could probably do with a couple of Zev0's aging wrinkles too.
Can you guys post a photo reference example that's best to use for this program? im just curious what kind of photos you use when using this program to get the best results. :)
The app gives some examples, but its basically this: mugshots and passport like pics. The best pics have no expression, looking straight ahead, with even light. If any of these are missing, then it just depends on the pic. Bare minimum of 1000x1000, higher is usually better, About 2-4k. JPGs are prefered, PNGs often crash it.
FG created teen ebony girl. This was done with a very low res photo (400px) that was scaled up to 1200px. You can tell a bit on the zoom. But, it's still very usable. The skin texture improved a lot after adding NGS2 Dark Skin shaders.
A related question - I'm having difficulty putting images in the body of the post. What's the trick? Is there a special file size limit?
That looks great! FG is really a game changer!
To put image in the body, click on small images and open in new web pages. Copy the URL of one, click on the gear to edit your post, click on the image icon, paste in the URL, size at 800 dpi or smaller and repeat for each image...
Wow! Looks GREAT!
Looks good! :D
John Sheppard! I loved all the Stargate series'! Nicely done! :) Now do Ronon or Rodney. Rawr! :D hehe Or Daniel Jackson. Or Nicholas Rush. *fans self* SO many hot guys in those series. :)
So sad that Universe was so short though. :(
