  • Yeah, it looks just like Eva, I think the model has alot of character. I just wish they had added a slightly wrinkled version with some age. Everything 3D looks like it visited the plastic surgeon. Ha, and all the new G3 models can't bend for squat.

She's got a lot more charater to her, not your typical super model face.

I do like her a lot. Her face has mature character, and I agree she looks like Eva Green. Wonder if the 'Vanessa' outfit is a nod to her character in Penny Dreadful. Not such a fan of the pronounced notch at the tip of the nose though. It seems to be a feature of a number of Gen3 bases. Arabella and Karen have it too, I recall. But perhaps it can be edited out.

She has an interesting face. Can't say this is a "Love at First Sight" character. I wasn't crazy about Lilith 7 when she came out either but she really grew on me. The more I work with Lilith, the more I love her. I think it'll be the same with this character. She's different and interesting. There's a hardness about her, a scrappiness, as if she's had to fight for everything she has. She seems more mature, perhaps in her 40s. I like that. Her "strength" seems to be inner strength, and I could see her in a lot of survival situations/renders. With a name like Genevieve, I was really hoping for something Arthurian, but I'll take 'badass."

And I love Hinkypunk's Neive for Genevieve. She's got an interesting look too.

EDIT: Avelyn hair has 93 custom morphs? Wow! EmmaAndJordi have been busy!

Meh, yet another pretty, young-ish white girl that doesn't appear to bring anything new to the table that Karen, Gia, and Rune haven't brought already. :/

The bundle items are pretty nice, though. Thank you for some classy looking stuff instead of tacky skimpwear.

I think I'll just cherry pick the items and skip the figure.

Aaaagh! I love her and most of her pro bundle and I loved all the new releases from a few days ago from the new shapes day when all my favorite vendors were on sale at the same time (Midnight-stories being one of them, if you are reading this) but I'm just tapped out, can't do these prices right now. Hoping for some miraculous all encompassing big percentage off everything orange banner.... Or an art commission client to come through quickly!!!  Will definitely get the Genevieve pro bundle or most of it at some point. But I want it NOW!

I love her cat eyes and strong nose, chiseled features, jaw line and supermodel slim tall body. (It says she's only 5'9" but she looks a lot taller to me.)

I don't mind that she's a bit older, it gives her a sense of sophistication. I could see using her a lot!  I think she's gorgeous and the most unique character for a while... So Italian Vogue, with an editorial fashion look. Or she'd make a great spy or classic James Bond girl type character...  First DO official character I've really liked for ages. Ugh. I may just say f*%k it and worry about things like rent and bills later. Daz you are killing me.

Hey, I have a bunch of my mother's antiques I need to sell. Anyone want to buy antique china or a 60' s era mink coat LOL?

I think she's lovely.  I like the styling of the email promo. Pretty kitbashed. Anybody recognize the pieces especially those little gloves she's wearing?

@Chohole  "I used to be described as a strong character when I was younger."

I'm guessing that part still applies. wink

Married to one, brother to one, son to one. I have some experience in this area. laugh

I think Pepper looks a bit like Jennifer Garner...

And Genevieve with the Girl7 looks kind of like a young Natalie Portman...

Genevieve is nice and all, but I have to say I was disappointed at first sight - only because of the words strong and daunting making me think of someone with a lot more muscle... which this is kind of the opposite.

Strength isn't about muscle; it can be, but strength is more encompassing than that. Some that have muscle, have it becuase they are weak.

This is true, but not really relevant to a figure. A strong willed person can be male or female, and have any physical appearance at all.

You could as easily put "this figure likes classical music" and it would mean about as much.

I like her! She has sort of a Marina Sirtis vibe going on. I like all 3 of her her hairs. The clothing is a bit too goth urban for me, but she looks great. If I had cash to spend and neeeded another female figure, I would buy her. But I have stopped buying female characters. I have too many now that I don't use. But she is beautiful! Maybe when I can get her on sale.

Really like the figure. Reminds me of a more average build Ninive.

Whenever I succumb to G3F, reasonably high up on my list of considered figures. ;)

    Greetings,

Meryl Streep is rather more thick. Her face reminds me of Allison Janney in some shots.

Allison Janney, e.g. CJ Cregg from The West Wing.  I came to this thread specifically to comment on that, as both my partner and I immediately saw her in this model.

While strong women come in all shapes and sizes, and definitely don't require muscles, the demands of that strength can engrave itself in the face...and that is definitely true for this character.  I'm not a fan of the makeups (and brows), but the underlying character is something that I can see dialing in some percentage to add character and experience to an otherwise slightly blander figure.

Plus CJ Cregg is one of my favorite TV characters ever, so seeing hints of her in a 3D model just makes my day! :)

  • The model looks pretty amazing for the most part but Pepper's face, on close inspection, makes her look like Peter Cushing with those cheeks. That gauntness seems on the extreme side.

That's a good point, and definitely noticeable.

I really like the character, and the Nydo hair is great. Genevieve (is that French by the way, I thought it was Gaelic?) do fills the hole of the more mature woman, the advancing executive who one day will be a Merkel or May. And the Nydo hair is cool.

But the rest of the bundle, not that I dislike it, but it seems like nothing new. I don't know how many slim pants there has been or corsettes or short skirts, not to mention archers. What is it with content providers and archers :-)

  • Based on the promos, I love her and want!  She has that maturity that I far prefer over the pouty woman-child look.  I can't wait to see how she mixes with other figures like Karen to give her a little more meat on her bones.  And hubby gave me permission "if I'll use her", but knowing I have to add 32% to the cost of the pro bundle... curse you Canadian dollar!  I'd get the starter bundle if it were the reverse selection of products.  I only want the Nydo Hair, though I do like Moto Girl from the starter bundle.  Or just get the base and one or two items... Decisions, decisions!

Not crazy about the Hood Huntress outfit itself but loving the poncho

Urgh! My cc will remain unscathed for a change ;). I find the skinny legs to be rather off-putting. And there's not really any clothes or hair I don't have a close approximation for. Ah well....it's not like I don't have enough figures already. LOL

She appears to be in anywhere from 20s - 60s but honestly, it's getting a bit old to hear veiled insults at young beautiful blonds in these forum threads. That sort of insult wouldn't be allowed to fly if it were directed at most other generic classifications of people.

It's allowed to fly about overweight people. So hey.

And if 95% of the content around here was aimed at aged Micronesian men with hot pants, a bit of grumbling about wanting other stuff or people not obsessing and fetishing sexy old men would be warranted.

People complain and make such comments because it's one of the only ways to try to encourage different content directly, rather than reading sales entrails for hints.

We have the veiled insults about young beautiful blonds combined with the praise of her thinness. So. Probably balances out. Tastes vary. What gets me (in all these new DO character threads) is the people who weigh in JUST to talk about how much they don't like a DO Feature and its bundle. It's weird because if the same artists were to post in the PA commercial forum, people would know better than to stop by to complain.

Anyhow. I love Moto Girl. It reminds me of Gone Girl which I bought individually instantly, and I bet it would mix well with that and some other stuff. Lots of delightful pieces. And I love the beautiful arc of the Nydo hair, and the Hood Huntress makes me think of women in non-western cultures, like the real life Eagle Huntress. I was going to go for the Starter Package but the Pro Package isn't that much more when I toss in Neive and Authenticity, and while I personally don't like the Avelyn hair (it looks crooked in the cover promo) it sounds like it's a really well-done piece and some characters would def. fit the hair, so.... considering. Genevieve herself is a no-brainer; she clearly adds a lot of distinction to the gene pool.

It's funny how different everyone's taste and perception is. This was the first character for me that was a no-brainer, straight to cart, since V7 (except financially!) There are only a few things in the pro bundle I'm not that into, but it's cheaper with them than buying everything I do like individually. I'm still hoping for some kind of extra discount and holding off at least till tomorrow but can't wait to render her! I'm really looking forward to creating some artistic high end and avant-garde fashion Vogue magazine type renders with her! And I don't think she looks THAT old (60? Really???) or like Allison Janney but like a top international supermodel!

So agree.  She was in my cart before the pages were fully up.  I think she looks very sophisticated.  I cherry picked from the bundles but still got a good deal.  I loved River too.  Downloading now ...

Ah, that's who she reminds me of. A little Paulina Porizkova in there:

I really like Hinky Punk's Nieve (in the "Strong Woman" releases) for her full, natural eyebrows and olive coloring, though that might just be due to lighting. I immediately thought, "AlFan does Eva Green," when I saw the main page promo for Genevieve. Shout out to Chohole the firebrand!
