yeh he does, but that isn't a problem to me; he'll be adult size anyway. hmmm maybe not, never done a father son render.
So some people with 1-8 characters got the discount at 10% per character, but no one over 9 did?
So either...
- They completely ignore the issue and hope no one notices (um)
- They say it's intentional and intended only for those customers to know
- It's a glitch and they offer the discount for everyone that it applies to
End result: "male teens don't make money!" Hiro 5 all over again.
Seems like this all started happening so consistently at the beginning of the year (4.9 release); or maybe I just pay more attention now. So maybe I'm seeing something that isn't there.
Do anybody know, when Daz-Team will be in office? This drama is really odd....
Well, for those who want to wait: the offer ends on the 29th of August. So nobody will reach their new DO coupon, but you can definitely lean back and wait for a week to see if they fix it.
$26.45 for me, only stuck in cart out of curiosity but at that price sold
I only buy some Genesis 3 stuff for the occasional iClone animation as it does not work in my prefered program Carrara but is quite good in iClone, do not use D|S much.
Hi all, as you might guess from this thread, the message and discount for those who have EXACTLY 9 figures is working fine, but the one for "Thank you for your purchase of MORE THAN" is not. Should be fixed in a few minutes. Obviously we love you guys and appreciate you!! We'll have it made right in a few minutes. Apoliogies, and please enjoy your super duper discounted bundles :)
Just as I predicted a simple error.
Thanks Steve
EDIT: Ah, I cross-posted with DAZ_Steve. Just a glitch, then.
I am really liking this little guy. This test render is with Pro assets, including a built-in Ryan-elfin-ears morph. I borrowed the icy-blue eyes from Saiyaness' most excellent Jurou set.
It's regular "store discount math", actually.
I have 30%, and I have 3 bundles.
Its pretty standard retail practice to offer "special" discounts as percentages off the general public sale. For example, if you are in some sort of sales club like most grocery stores offer. Its a great deal - if you bought the G3 stuff before its pretty likely you'll buy more, so its unusual that they are offering an additional discount at all.
I wish I hadn't already spent so much this month - its a huge discount and I actually like this model. I'm not a big G3 fan but this one offers a lot of great addons and looks good to boot.
Another head scratching sales strategy. Between the "core" G3 characters (of which I have 13) and the add-ones, I've got 60+ Just doing a quick count. Would I buy Tween Ryan at the regular promo price? No, because I don't see using him as a main character and if I need a "tween" secondary character, I could get by with a morphed one probably...but, offered at >80% off, yeah, of course I'd pick him up, and probably end up spending more on extras for him as a result.
It was only a couple days ago that there was a discussion about sales strategies and how it's always good business to show you care about your most supportive customers. I have no problem paying more for something if I *knowingly* passed up a qualifying purchase! because that means I made an informed decision. Further, I have no issue paying the same price as someone who has never purchased here before or who purchases infrequently. But I am a bit irked that as someone who does spend quite a bit here, I'm expected to pay more.
Curious to see how this plays out.
Looks like the big-spenders are not going to be left out: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1498806/#Comment_1498806
And it's in place to prevent DAZ paying YOU to take the content from stacking discounts and coupons.
Thank you DazSteve for being attentive today. Can't wait to see what the awesome discount will be.
Jason
Awww, restored my faith in DAZ! Thanks so much DAZ Steve!!!
Hmm. I was set to buy him on release but... he's really not knocking me out of the park. The basic figure looks alright, sculpt wise, but am I the only one who thinks that his skin textures all look a bit... oily? The clothing selection is also a big disappointment. The fantasy stuff from the Julie Pro pack has crept into the Ryan starter set and the two "normal" outfits are incredibly bland. I was really hoping for a gym uniform, little league outfit or other form of sportwear to reflect the fact that he's supposed to be in middle school. Top all of that off with the fact that there was no previous purchase discount in my account and I'm not seeing any reason to rush into buying him right now.
I work in retail management for a national chain and we don't use this type of math, LOL.
I had already purchased before I came here. Ticket time I guess......
Good to see it getting attended to and I'll happily buy him with the discount if it shows up, but I have to agree that the sales strategies lately have been very off. I love buying Daz products (even though realistically I don't really need any more than I have) and as a hobbyist discounts are pretty essential, but recently they're just weird.
August:
- Two major issues in banner descriptions (offering Gen 3 cheap when it was a Gen 2 figure, and I forget the other)
- 11% off $11 including gift cards which is awesome - only to be replaced by 12% the next day, making all the 11s feel dumb. And then 13% the NEXT day.
- 5 free items with purchase, only the vast majority of regularly buying customers would likely own at least 3+ of them.
- Now Tween Ryan maaybe offered at insane percentages (not sure haven't got banner yet to check) which is lovely but let's hope for no "males dont sell!" talk after this.
As for his outfits, I like that there is one that matches Julie's, and I'm totally fine with the bland everyday ones - the kind of stuff you would actually use for say a crowd shot or background characters. That said I would also like some sort of sportswear and regular uniforms for males (and females, no the cheerleading belts do not count.)
Well, submitted a help ticket on the discount, hopfully I'll hear something soon.
Hmm. With the banner, I'm at 71% off, so the cost is down to $13.22. Good price, but I really don't have a need for tweens. This'll need some thought.
Did anyone who didn't have it before actually get the banner now?
Has anyone gotten the "Thank you for your purchase of MORE THAN" banner? If so, what's the discount?
Still not seeing the banner here. And with around 15+ G3 Pro Bundles in my product library.....it ought to be there....
Fair enough, "regular store discount math in France" then.... I called that "regular store discount math" since I've never ever seen a store where "item is on sale 30% off and you get an additionnal 20% off in xxx case" means you get that item for 50% off, even in different countries. That's actally the typical example used at school here to teach how to stack percentages. But that's probably different in the US...
Do you have a need for any of the clothes or hairs in the bundle? With that discount you get the whole bundle for a bit more than the price of one item...
Nope, still not seeing it.
Not seeing it here yet either....
Not yet, but giving Daz the benefit of the doubt, I'll just check back in a few hours.
