I confess that I am not a lover of video for learning how to do things. I find it almost impossible to progress beyond opening Blender because the only tutorials are video. I am, it appears, partially high tone deaf, am not used to many different accents/dialects of English and find most commentaries to videos either 'next to' or 'totally and utterly' useless. And most video narrators have no idea of what I find difficult, so don't give it attention. OTH, a written, step by step set of instructions needs no comprehension, no dialect or accent problem and it doesn't matter if I'm stone deaf. So, I like writing. It's efficient in terms of both bytes and time and has worked for millennia, so it's got something going for it. Regards, Richard.

lol Sounds like my videos are a perfect fit, they have no commentary what so ever, of course that 'cause I don't have a mic.

I'm not so good at writing stuff, it can take me forever just to compose a simple paragraph. Like the 3 to 4 hours it took me the other day to describe my processes for fitting non A3 clothes to A3.

Which is why videos seemed like a good idea, but I get it, there not the best fit for everyone.

Just remembered another image I have done with Willow Creek & GV3. Camera angle carefully chosen to avoid any visible joint issues. Uses Linday's Side Layered Messy Hair for the hair. That was interesting trying to get it to parent it, but it worked in the end.

A couple of beauties stopping to do some window shopping on their way to the restaurant one quiet weekday evening... GND2 and GV3 with modern shaders and G8F/G3F hair.

Hope you like. Assets used: Karanta's Mini Dress with sandals for GND2 over at Rendo. The two handbags are freebies from Wilmap (thank you so much, they're so useful) and the background is an HDRI from Polyhaven. GV3's dress is the one supplied in the base set with a texture from the Glamorous resorts collection and given a DAZ Uber shader makeover. The hair is G8F Robin Hair (GV3) and G3F Galene Hair (GND2) parented to the head, so being used as a conformal hair. If I keep doing this, I think I'm going to write a script that can transfer the V3 pose to the hair to make it behave as if it's rigged to move with the character.

Now, it's always said these older characters render fast. I can confirm that with modern shaders and G3F/G8F hair, they do NOT render any faster than G8F characters. And why would they? If using the same technology for the shader to make them look good, a 20 year old facet will render as slowly as a 6 month old facet.

I don't often feel as pleased about the poses as I do with this image. GV3's pose is one I did for G8F and then used my G8F to GV3 pose transfer script. The GND2 pose is one I'm going to convert to G8F and eventually offer as a freebie.

Look! The fish are rising!!!

GND2 with G8F looking over the river in an UltraScenery Britain scene.

GND2's pose origin is actually a bit complicated. It was a Musketeer V3 pose dating 2003?, which I moved to GV3 in 2005. Then I created it anew on G8F in 2020, and finally completed the circle by script pose transfer from G8F to the V3 morph that is GND2... Seems crazy, really.

The weather has been lovely today. Just the sort of day when you need to cool off in a stream if you can.

The character's leaping off the bridge into the river are Blackhearted's GND2 and Jim Burton's Glamorous Vickie 3. Both are Victoria 3 based characters. The landscape is from UltraScenery, two landscapes duplicated next to each other to give a depth of countryside and the plant generation was masked to prevent grass growing up through the Rotunda steps. The way I got the area to mask was to take a top view & trace the rotunda step shapes as a monochrome mask image. Much more efficient than my previous attempts at calculating where it all was.

@krickerd, if you get the image address on the DA site, you can then enter that image address into the image box address & don't need to use the dodgy forum upload to get an image to the forum.

So, I hope you don't mind, I've done that with your image so it can be seen in the thread:

The M2 joint problems are not an issue at all with a character that's falling apart.. I don't think I've seen many, if any, better images with M2 in them. Love the lighting & decay.

V3 still has potential, and to be honest I'm not sure if I'm good enough to invent poses & stories that explore it fully. Don't think that's a problem you have.

Can I ask, were they recent downloads, @DollyGirl ? I've had a quick look in the usual areas for Digital Meanderings (PoserDazFreebies, Rendo & ShareCG), and didn't turn anything up - which may be more of a reflection on my search skills rather than anything else! That bike looks as if it has a fair bit of potential regardless of character generation.
