Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8
Novica, these "painted on" or second skins you keep running into are similar to the SexySkinz lace bodysuit for G3F. They are V3 character textures rather than "clothes" per se, and you would need to apply them using whatever tools allow you to use V3 human skins on G3F. Wear Them All will NOT help.
I don't own the Rogue set, but the product includes both textures for the catsuit (they would be the layer with the, erm ventilation) and second skins for V3. You will need to make sure you are applying catsuit textures to the catsuit, not second skin textures. This promo image shows the second skins: https://www.daz3d.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/v/3/v3-rogue-pack-2.jpg
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8Victoria 3.0 Ultra Catsuit
Needed for the Rogue Pack.
Poser Formats>Daz>Figures>V3 Morphing Clothes For the base outfit
Poser Formats>Daz>Pose>!MAT V3 Catsuit For hiding outfit sections and provides materialsI reduced the nipples (-36.5%) on the figure to get the smoother chest look. Note where the sleeves come to, past the wrist, for the catsuit. You may like it, or not. I like it better than too-short sleeves. The silver is how it loaded, out of the box. (LOL, the sword is part of the Rogue Pack.)
V3 Rogue Pack I CANT GET THESE MATERIALS TO WORK.
Poser Formats>Daz>Pose>MAT V3 Rogue (spaces are important, it's near the top of the list) for the materials.
Poser Formats>Daz>Props>V3 Rogue for the sword
Poser Formats>Daz>Hands>V3 Rogue for the grip (no matter which order I went in, the sword first or pose, or choosing the figure or the hand, it still needed tweaking. Then be sure and parent the sword to the hand if it didn't.)Keep Calm : There's always another Sale (Daily Sale Talk)Here is the thing about Generation 3 bundles...
Their regular price really should be $4 for a Victoria 3 Pro Bundle that includes the glamorous wardrobe pack *and* the V3 body and face morphs. Vicki 3 and Aiko 3 and M3 and L3 and Millenium Girls and all of that stuff is just so old and difficult to work with that in my opinion, having the retail price for those bundles at $50-$150 isn't reasonable.
At $4 each and you need to buy two new releases from a specific SET of new releases, that kind of deal isn't really that exciting to me.
If I could get them for $4 each and I could pick ANY single new release including $2.99 "Big Bill Pose Set" type items...
Then I MIGHT impulse buy it.I bought a couple of items to qualify, in part because I wanted the fit to.
I find myself looking at the $45 bundle from today, and thinking it is much better value than the$25 ish I spent yesterday. I'll probably return what i got yesterday.
EDIT:
I have done; basically, it left a bad taste in my mouth, having to spend so much to qualify.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8For easy reference, I will add this post to the References and if you want to use the legacy outfits, this will help you find them quickly. If you'd like to help build that post, you can also list where you found the items. (You don't have to render them.) Please put the exact menu path. This should be for CONTENT LIBRARY. I'm not getting sidetracked into taking this on as a project (I'm weight mapping) but I'll be doing these off and on.
Where To Find Legacy Clothing
These posts will tell you where to find the outfits (and if I have them, other products for them.)

Fit Genesis 3 clothes to Victoria 4 and Michael 4Hi.
I still using V4 and M4 and i render them fine with Iray, but all the new clothes provided by DAZ are for Genesis 3 Female and Male. Is there any posibility to fit their clothes on Generation 4?

I love all the Genesis 2 Legacies for G3. I got those before I purchased any G2s when I first started with DS last March and it's so cool to use Keiko on G3! And they really add to the gene pool! To be honest, I don't really see a need for G2s, although by now I've collected a bunch in supersales but I rarely use them. I suppose I should because now I own so many and I do like Aiko 6, Lilith 6 and the Girl 6 better than the 7 versions and the legacy versions for G3 aren't EXACTLY the same but close. I'm actually surprised Daz allowed those products...
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8Here's a few things I'm considering from the 85% sale. I've taken the time to do calculations (not typing those up, just believe me) and if you buy enough of the 85% items, when getting two of the new ones (which triggers 20% more off) it works out to the new items dropping to $6-8 apiece when figuring the savings. I'm thinking UberBase then Iray shaders, and you get some real treasures.
The first one which is a must have for me is the athletic uniform, because it doesn't have the stupid low slung waists that many newer ones have. D Formers are not hard to do and you can make areas which dip in to get even more variety. Remember, think shaders for a fun polyester look.
Female Tees N Tracks Male Tees N Tracks See also Jersey Set for Stephanie 3 PetiteNow look at these two. The second one turns the pants into capri pants and shorts. The shirt waistline has a nice hem. Good attention to detail. You can make so many outfits with these two! (and I actually like the materials in the second one. Just UberBase!
V3 and SP Clothing Pack (not impressive, but look at the second one, which changes thing to shorts and capris. It's NOT just textures.)
Pastels for V3/SP3 Clothing Pack Change up those outfits!Love these for toys! It's a pose set and oh what fun for toy soldiers! (Grab the M3 Cavalry and Millennium Horse which are required)
Cavalry ActionThe Kenji the Scrapper outfit is rather sleek, I like it. ANd Rudi's poofy pants are unique.
The Shepherd is a classic. That head cover with the "winged out" area can be easily fixed with either bones or a dformer.
Did you catch the one by Luthbel? WildenlanderOutfits that many others are based on:
M3 Ultra BodySuit (See Concord Series) M3 Hooded Cloak (a PC item) M3 Tunic Pack
Then you can have outfits like the Elvish Styles
The Victoria 3 Ultra Catsuit is required for a lot of the scifi ones. (See Concord series)This V4 product will tell you what you need (I didn't mess with the V3, just V4, and I've had this for years.) Note the PC+ items are not further discounting. So there's no rush.
Keep Calm : There's always another Sale (Daily Sale Talk)Well, the 85% off was a deciding factor for me because I added up what I'd be paying if those items were each a dollar or two more, and if you buy enough of the older content, it brought the price down of the new releases to about $6-$8 each. (when calculating what you're saving on the other, and the discount applied for buying two which is 20%.) And the discount on the older stuff was still about 70-75% when I raise it a dollar or so. There's a jogging/athletic outfit that doesn't have the stupid low slung waist (SICK of those) and several other items that are IMO better made than some of the items recently. Think shaders (Uber Base and make it Iray first) and there's some really fascinating stuff. If you do get anything, look at the Victoria catsuit because some of the neat uniform items require it.
And I got a Gift Card when it was around 20%, right when the MM was ending. Plus some returns as I am not tweaking (a aka, here's a "fix.") a darned thing now, if something is wrong, back it goes the same day.)
Llynara's Loony Bin (WIP Thread)The Generation 3 Wear Them All, from left to right:
Victoria 7, Mirillian Suit (V3), Andy Hair (V3): Someone give that woman a sandwich!
X-Leonore, Daedalus Rudi (A3), Amarseda Hair (A3). Some small weirdnesses in the jacket, but gorgeous outfit
Ceridwen, Barbarian clothes (V3), Christine Hair (V3) "Why do I always end up wearing the chainmail without padding?"
Textures on the clothes converted to Iray, hairs all have UHT Iray shaders applied.
Who's the unbelievably hot model? It looks to me like Sunny 7 wearing perhaps Victoria 7's textures, because the default Sunny has far darker skin.
Wear Them AllOk, let me get this straight. This product allows me to use Kids 4, Victoria 3, Michael 3, Aiko 3, Hiro 3, Freak 3, Stephanie 3 and David 3 clothing on Genesis 3?
Yep. I was already doing this by autofitting to genesis and then saving and autofitting to genesis 3, but this will save me a step and some disc space.
yes what I do, I made clones for all my people using GenX but the Genesis 3 ones for V3, A3 etc were less than satisfactory the K4 etc ones fine so may one day grab this too.
Wear Them AllI am SOOOO HAPPY that this product came out :D I don't have to autofit to Genesis anymore! I'll have to test it out at home to see how it handles mesh distortion of certain items, of course...
Are there any plans for a V2/V1 autofit clone? Hmmmmmm?

Haha, I pull the breaks on going as far back into the past to Generation 3, so unfortunately there won't be Vicky 1 and 2 :)
Awwww it was worth a try :) I guess I'll have to stick to my old workflow for the occasional V2 item...
Also, for that dress auto-fit posted earlier, that's always going to be an issue when working with dresses, even as recent as V4 because of the bones and mesh distortion around the hips/legs. I've always stuck to pants and other conforming clothing from previous generations because of this :(
I hear you with that and there is no easy-out of the box way to fix it automaticaly except for adding smoothing and hoping for the best. I have a few solutions down my sleeve for old hairs and Victoria 4 heels in particular, to not loose the bones on hairs when fitting and save old shoes from distorting, but versions of those solutions are still very rough and I only use them in my personal projects for now.
For skirts it would require a specific projection template (like those where you select what type of clothing you are fitting) and Sickle has done a great job with hers, much better than I can make. I haven't fiddled much with templates myself, at least noto to satisfying success yet, two generations in a row now, as I've made my first clones for Genesis 2 but wasn't confident enough to become a vendor yet back at the time :)
Yeah, IIRC one of the generations had a separate autofit clone explicitly for V4 dresses/skirts but I can't remember which generation it was off the top of my head. Genesis? G2?
