I need to figure out my character's height. Is there a way to pull the real-world equivalent height from inside DS 6 ?

If without using Measure Metrics plugin ? You can use a primitive plane + Align plugin, i.e. stack the plane onto your character, then check Y Translate of the pane... as shown in the attached screenshot
There'll be a tiny variance comparing to using Measure Metrics... but the measured value can be still usable.
Thank you.
OK, Thank you. Makes sense
make a cube 1 foot x 1 x 1
next to character scale on Y until cube and character same height read the num the number 500 is 5 ft /550 is 5-6 /525 is 5-3 /575 is 5-9 /600 is 6 ft tall.
I haven't tried this prop. Looks free. I was searching for the one I use when I found it instead. There should be quite a few similar ones out there:

Heres another one.

@jmtbank - thank you for those links

I tested it with several base Daz G8 characters and it is very accurate (note for G8 ad 9 characters the legs must be together - this can be done in Pose Controls/Legs)
The height readings on the scale are in metric so you have to convert from/to English measure. It doesn't require using Iray view mode to read so it's easy to easier make height adjustments to the character.
Here is a link to a thread post that has a list of female character heights This is what I used for the tests.

I've been using it ever since I learned about it.
Thanks for this as well. I'm mainly doing male characters, so I'll have to check heights.
