Yeah, hierarchical poses are quite bothersome in that often enough they just... don't really add anything of value. Much like hierarchical materials, truth be told, which make kitbashing a nightmare. Skipping anything other than the main pose would be a perfectly workable solution.

Sorry to hear about the animation limitations. I was quite excited when I tried to convert an aniblock and it seemed to work, but, well, I can make do with Bone Minion still. Thanks for your input on the issues.

I finally got to play with this and less than a minute later I'm sitting here blinking my eyes in astonishment. What normally would have taken 5 minutes with various tools I have for mirroring and partial posing took less than 30 seconds: Top half, bottom half, think for a second, mirror the top only. Done. Amazing that this only was created this year. Between this and the eventual IK thing I might be retiring a bunch of other tools. I just need to figure out where to place it on screen. It can't share the same pane as the Content Library. And it there are times when it being with the Scene Pane or with the Parameters Pane make a lot of sense.

Did it convert probably just the first keyframe? I guess it could work to do the rest, would have to advance the frame every time and rinse repeat. Could be quite slow though. This all works by parsing the code in the pose preset file directly. That's what makes it so effortlessly drag and drop. You drop a pose, I ask what is in this file, what figure do these bones belong to and and what are they doing. Then translate it it to the selected figure's generation through various conversion layers, filter out the stuff you didn't want, and apply the pose in the end.

Lovely :) Sure helps to have multiple monitors. I have Pose Zone on the far right on my right monitor next to a pane group with Content Library, Smart Content and Render settings. It's always visible.

Remember you can dock it in more places if you don't drag on the tab but on the bar above it. Don't think this is so obvious to a lot of people.

What's the difference between these two menu items?

    • Mirror -> (Bakes Pose Controls) - is this one mirror left onto right?
    • Mirror <- (Bakes Pose Controls) - and this one mirror right onto left?

I just noticed there was a flip option as well.

Yes, the subtle little arrows indicate the direction.

Hey bluejaunte, this is a really great tool!  It's been very helpful.  If I had a wish it would be that we could drag from Smart Content instead of just Content Library.  When clicking on "Show Asset in Content Library" it opens up the entire pose pack, which means I've got to hunt through the pose pack to find the pose I had already chosen through Smart Content.  Since I spend about 90% of my time in Smart Content, this is a bit inconvenient--some of the pose packs are fairly large.  Still a great tool!

Thanks, yeah that would be a good addition. For BJ Shelf too I guess.

Probably beyond what you think about for the tool. But imagine if multiple figures were selected and you hit Right Arm. And the Right Arm pose of the first figure were copied to all the subsequence figures. Just a thought.

Yeah, pls add this feature !  I'm also a heavy user of Smart Content. It'll be great if I can directly drag a Pose Preset from Smart Content. Thank you very much !

That would certainly be a great help, particularly with how often Smart Content somehow fails to find something in my Content Library (I don't know why or how, but manual searching is quite a frequent task).

I think that should work more like this: copy whole pose of selected figure into a sort of clipboard, paste it on any zone of any other figure. Definitely have a use case for that as saving a pose just to get it onto another character is annoying. Also because saving a pose correctly is annoying.

So guess what another feature is that I would love to have? Saving the pose! Save a full pose from Full Body zone, or any partial pose from the partial zones. And save it with 1 click correctly (or 2 I guess, 1 for the right click menu). Should be possible because of the parsing nature of the plugin to write those files directly, nice and clean, circumventing all Daz Studio dialogs. Would have to look into thumbnail generation though, see if the SDK exposes that. Or hack something.

That pose copy-paste sounds very useful.
