Yeah, hierarchical poses are quite bothersome in that often enough they just... don't really add anything of value. Much like hierarchical materials, truth be told, which make kitbashing a nightmare. Skipping anything other than the main pose would be a perfectly workable solution.

Sorry to hear about the animation limitations. I was quite excited when I tried to convert an aniblock and it seemed to work, but, well, I can make do with Bone Minion still. Thanks for your input on the issues.

I finally got to play with this and less than a minute later I'm sitting here blinking my eyes in astonishment. What normally would have taken 5 minutes with various tools I have for mirroring and partial posing took less than 30 seconds: Top half, bottom half, think for a second, mirror the top only. Done. Amazing that this only was created this year. Between this and the eventual IK thing I might be retiring a bunch of other tools. I just need to figure out where to place it on screen. It can't share the same pane as the Content Library. And it there are times when it being with the Scene Pane or with the Parameters Pane make a lot of sense.

Did it convert probably just the first keyframe? I guess it could work to do the rest, would have to advance the frame every time and rinse repeat. Could be quite slow though. This all works by parsing the code in the pose preset file directly. That's what makes it so effortlessly drag and drop. You drop a pose, I ask what is in this file, what figure do these bones belong to and and what are they doing. Then translate it it to the selected figure's generation through various conversion layers, filter out the stuff you didn't want, and apply the pose in the end.

Lovely :) Sure helps to have multiple monitors. I have Pose Zone on the far right on my right monitor next to a pane group with Content Library, Smart Content and Render settings. It's always visible.

Remember you can dock it in more places if you don't drag on the tab but on the bar above it. Don't think this is so obvious to a lot of people.

What's the difference between these two menu items?

    • Mirror -> (Bakes Pose Controls) - is this one mirror left onto right?
    • Mirror <- (Bakes Pose Controls) - and this one mirror right onto left?

I just noticed there was a flip option as well.

Yes, the subtle little arrows indicate the direction.
