Are you planning to make a patch for Daz3D Studio 2026? I just bought you product today, and it is not being reconized by Daz Studio.
Hi ! I use your tool for a week now and it's great ! I am a little frustrated sometimes (for example I'd like to have the possibility to show the only standards categories when I need to choose one during the process) but don't worry it's OK.
I only post this message for something : I had the "no facing files were detected in the product" for the first time today and I fixed it by... unzipped the product and rezipped it with 7zip. So I think that's would be a great addition to the first post for the others who could face the same problem.
My Content Wizard has stopped working in the 4.24 Public Build.
When I click it Daz Studio just does nothing (spinning circle), and has to be killed to stop.
The last entries from the log are:

I have tried reinstalling Content Wizard, as well as Daz Studio, but nothing solved it.
It is working in the release version of 4.24.
Any suggestions for how to get it working?
There is a line about rezipping the unit. I added your comment about the symptom. Thanks.
Off the top of my head, no. That it works in the release version usually means there is a configuration problem for the build version.
But it has been running for years iwthout issues, and I haven't made any recent changes (if any at all).
I will investigate and see what I can come up with.
@RiverSoft Art,
Hello. I bought Content Wizard last month. A few days ago, I asked a question in the A lot of products are missing in smart content thread about using Content Wizard: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/735481/a-lot-of-products-are-missing-in-smart-content#latest. Am I correct that Content Wizard only works with zip files packaged in the Daz Studio content format? I'm trying to bring Poser (mainly) content in the Content Library into Smart Content. Thanks.
I think you are asking about older products that throw everything in runtime libraries? That is correct, CW cannot handle them. They need to at least be supporting the directory structure (People, Props, etc) for CW to find user-facing files. The old content mixed everything together.
OK. Thanks much for your fast response.
You're welcome!
Tried rezipping (with 7-zip) a character I'd bought at another store that had failed to install and trying again, but was unsuccessful.
The character is Prya the Half Goblin by Sza Trippie. I opened the original zip and extracted it, then selected the contents of the "My Library" subfolder ("data", "People", and "Runtime") in 7-zip and made a new zipfile. I did not change any settings in 7-zip other than switching from 7Z to ZIP format.
Unzip Product didn't cause any problems, but Analyze only resulted in a "No user-facing files" error message. Content Wizard's log tab isn't very enlightening:
I've attached the relevant chunk of the Daz3D log as a text file. It ends with:
The script is crashing. I wonder what in the content is making the compatibilityBase wrong? I will have to think about it.
The directory structure isn't in the DAZ standard format with this particular product.
People/Sza Trippie/Character Presets <-- Original path (Not working)
People/Genesis 8 Female/Characters/Sza Trippie/Character Presets <-- Fixed path (works)
Ah! That makes sense. CW should have *gracefully* failed on that original product and not crashed, but I am not surprised it couldn't use it. Thank you so much for chiming in @SonixUK!
Nice catch! Changing the directory structure like that did the trick. Daz did crash in the process, but it successfully installed and now I can put this cutie pie into some ridiculous fantasy adventures.
Was your viewport in Filament mode by chance?
If I use CW in filament mode, it crashes DAZ 85% of the time (although DAZ crashes and closes, CW remains open and can sometimes complete the process)
I always switch to Texture Shaded before launching CW. I've never had a single crash in that viewport mode.
Wow, I didn't know that. Maybe we should have you give an experts seminar
It's a fantastic tool that I use a lot.
Can't claim to be an expert, though. Discovering this fix was more of a happy accident since I forgot to switch out from Texture Shaded in a previous session.
When I started using CW in my next session, I was curious as to why it wasn't crashing and went down the rabbit hole to find out!
I can give you a little more info:
CW crashes often for me in Filament, but it's pretty much a guarantee if it involves a G9 item.
If in Filament, DAZ will crash, but CW will continue to operate as normal until you close the window - Unless it's G9 related - This causes CW to freeze at the point where it loads the item into the viewport.
In fact, all the DAZ crashes relate to loading the item into the viewport in Filament mode, but for some reason, only G9 stops the operation from completing.
Again, switching to Texture shaded prevents this completely, even with G9.
Thanks for the bug report. That is bizarre behavior.
It probably was. I tend to default to that.
I had high hopes that maybe you'd cracked the code with this suggestion, so I switched to wireframe and...the first two products I tried crashed at the end. Oh well.
Still, it does seem to be more stable overall, so even if that isn't a total fix it seems to have helped.
I am curious - did you try switching to Texture Shaded? Or only wireframe?
Since then I've been in Texture Shaded and have not been having any problems. It's baffling that that would make a difference, but I guess it does!
Thanks. Another good data point.
I'm going to have to amend that. Just got a crash. And before that I had a couple of script lockups of the mildest type (New Product button doesn't work, have to close and reopen the script).
The crash happened when installing a character, Nonomi for Genesis 8 Female by RIZAL3D. The first attempt had an error when trying to install smart content, saying it could not open a file (Install Content had worked fine) and left behind an empty product that I deleted. I rezipped her (she comes in three zipfiles but I rezipped as one) and tried again, which successfully installed her but crashed Daz afterward.
That said, I've been having a lot fewer problems since switching to Texture Shaded. Maybe just coincidence (there have been extended streaks without problems before) but I'm hoping not.
Ok, thanks.
