Many thanks ! I'll be happy to see any update on CW !!
There's no Clear button either on my side. IIRC, that button ever existed in very previous version.
Compatibility Base is always set on user-facing files, i.e. DUFs. DS supports to define one Compatibility Base and then assign the Compatility Base to all the Presets files linking to the same figure/object.... only Content Wizard doesn't support that by now ~~
So, in practice, you can Clear Compatibility Base on Preset items in CW > Table View but just keep one on a main item (e.g. a Prop or one of the Presets...). Then, after installation with CW, in DS > Content DB Editor, assign that Compatibility Base to all the other Presets, as well as Compatibilities ~~
In this way, you'll only have one Compatibility Base rather than multiple Base.
Thank you both for your answers :)
You do know that you can edit the Compatibility Base in the Table View? Just double click on the cell? And if you double-click while holding shift, edit Compatibility Base for multiple records (assigning them the same one)?
Yeah, I know ~~ but that doesn't work especially in the case like Elor has. CW will pop up a message if entering the same Compatibility Base by clicking the button of Compatibility Base... (ss1)
If clicking the data cell to enter the same Compatibility Base, it won't be installed either... still the analyzed Base will be adopted as the metadata (ss 2 ~ 3)...
I tried do to that but it doesn't seem to work: only the first selected item ended with its Compatibility Base changed.
Making the same exact same action on the Content Type did allow me to change it for every item selected.
And I'd like to have Batch Edit and Clear function for Content Type as well as Compatibility Base.... Thank you very much !
I am not sure what you mean about the Batch Edit? You definitely have the multi-select and edit on Content Type so you must mean something else?
Ah, you are right. It has been a long time since I worked on CW.
What I mean is that: firstly multi-select the items, then enter the same Compatibility Base to them, or Clear Compatibility Base by one-click on Clear Compatibility Base button.
Now CW only support to enter Compatibility Base and/or Clear Compatibility Base item by item.
Ok, I understand. When you had said you wanted "Batch Edit and Clear function for Content Type" it confused me, you do have Batch Edit (but no Clear) for Content Type. That you meant the Compatibility Base I can understand.
Thanks.
Yeah, thank you very much !!
You're welcome
I have always used content wizard for the last 2 years and haven't had any trouble with it in a long time I recently upgraded to Windows 11 it will no longer open the content zip files it keeps giving me an error message. I can't get past that point so it's a very short log I have made no changes to any of my settings other than installing Windows 11 I would appreciate any help.
And I know this is a question that is going to be asked but I tried multiple files not just the one that I showed the error message to and I'm getting the same thing with everyone.Strange. I haven't upgraded to Win11 yet, but I am sure that some people must have upgraded. Has anyone else had trouble like this on Win11?
I had a similar problem with some zip archives: Content Wizard said they were corrupt, but they opened just fine using other tools. The solution was to uncompress and re-compress them.
Depending on your tools you may have to see if you can compress the product root folder or if you need to compress the content of that folder.
To clarify, on my Mac, if I'm uncompressing nice_product.zip, Finder will place the content of that archive inside a folder called 'nice_product', so I will have something like that:
If I'm asking Finder or the other tools I had on my Mac (Keka) to compress the root folder (here, …/nice_product), the resulting archive will not play nice with Content Wizard (it'll add every dsf file from the data folder as an example), so I have to select the content of the nice_product folder to get an archive that'll work with Content Wizard.
Thanks for answering back. I have been playing around with it trying different variations and have been able to get it to work here and there. But if I take and just do like I normally did and right click it and send it to a zip file that will no longer work. It did in Windows 10 but it doesn't seem to do it that way on Windows 11. And it is possible it could be something messed up in my operating system. Mainly because I upgraded to Windows 11 with Windows 10 on the machine and it may have corrupted some of my files. I will keep playing around with it until I figure it out.
Was it the same zip files that used to work in Win10? Because some zip files will definitely not open in CW. It uses whatever DS provides for zip files which can be finicky.
I'm waiting on the file to upload now. I don't know whether it will allow this video to upload or not it's taking forever, if it doesn't upload I will put a link here where you can get it off of my drive. It's just a short video showing you how I used to do it and what it is doing now. I'm about 70% sure that it is not content wizard that That's the problem. I believe somewhere along in my upgrade to Windows 11 it corrupted something and I elaborated it on it a little more in the video.

I've come accross a really strange problem, Not sure if its a problem with CW or Daz Studio, but on older versions of Daz CW would take about 15mins to do the smart content but with the latest releases of Daz it can take anything up to 3hrs to install the smart content.
That sounds like the sort of thing security software can do.
If it was some sort of security software then it must be something thats built into the latest MacOS as I haven't installed any 3td party security software. I've had this problem since Daz 4.23, and with the latest release (4.24) it has gotten worse.
I'm using Content Wizard 1.2.1 with Daz Studio 4.23.47 on MacOS 13.
When I want to set the Content Type to 'Accessory/Head/Ear/Left', I only have the possibility to set it to 'Accessory/Head/Ear/Right' (the problem seems to be the same for 'Accessory/Head/Eye', 'Attachment/Head/Ear' and 'Attachment/Face/Eye'
I looked into 'RSSmartContentConstants.dsa' and Left is listed (around line 1036)
'Follower/Accessory/Head',
'Follower/Accessory/Head/Ear/Left',
'Follower/Accessory/Head/Ear/Right',
'Follower/Accessory/Head/Ears',
'Follower/Accessory/Head/Eye/Left',
'Follower/Accessory/Head/Eye/Right',
So it's here and should appear inside Content Wizard UI but it does not. If someone has an idea why.
I closed Daz Studio, un-installed Content Wizard before re-installing it and trying again, but the problem is still here.
You've exposed a bug. I will look into it.
I don’t know If I should split my questions into separate Post to get them all answered. Hope not.
I just used Content Wizard for the first time (I saved while working on it). I have a three of questions:
1) How do I clear the previous content so I can start on a different content package?
2) My first package was a vehicle. Content Wizard did add it to the Content Library tab’s: My Content/Vehicles. But I can’t find it in the Smart Content (yes, I did also press the: “Install Smart Content”).
I would like it to also show up in the Smart content’s Transportation/ Land Vehicles (I assume this is a default folder and not one that I created years ago). Either way, is this possible?
3) Do I need to click on BOTH the “Install content” AND the “Install Smart content” to get a full install? Or is clicking only on the Install smart content going to unzip the file and install it in both locations (IF it hasn’t already been installed)?
Please answer all three questions if you can.
Thanks
LD
Update Regarding question #2: While I as waiting for some answers, I went ahead and checked everything in the Options window. I then had it reanalyze etc. and low and behold, it created a product with all of the parts and did add some metadata in DAZ's Content DB Editor (Type: Prop; Categories: Default/ Transportation/land). Well I think it did the Transportation category - Previously I manually added that category. But in this last try, I believe I deleted that metadata from the Content DB Editor first and then proceeded.
I don't know which item that I checked in the otions window cause it to work as I wanted. But I guesss there's no hurt in checking everything.
So I think question 2 is answered.
To start on a new product click the 'New product'. That will clear all that is currently in the window.
If you haven't previously installed it, you want to click Install, and if you also want metadata (Smart Content) you want to click Install metadata.
So for a new product you would normally want to do both.
