    yes it did.. the outback of Australia is red desert and when conditions are right ( like the recent cyclone TC Narelle in Western Aus ) it stirs up the red sands creating this red dust storm. yes

    But ... Australia is approximately the size of the entire continental United States, dwarfing Texas.

    Again, Australia outdoes Texas: "Texas is home to over 80 species of mosquitoes"   "Australia is home to over 30,000 species of flies"

    But our mosquitos have something your flies may not have: cloaking devices.  I'll see a mosquito and grab something to swat it, and it just disappears, like a Romulan warbird.  For a while, until it thinks I'm an unsuspecting target again ... frown

    surprise  On a birding trip to Australia, my wife bought an anti-fly "cork hat".  Doesn't seem much of a match for that critter.

    Yes, my wife said they are going for moisture, while our mosquitos are going for blood.   Hot sauce is considered a defense (see commercial below)

    She also corrected me, she did not buy the "cork hat", just looked at one and thought it would not do any good.

    Just tried rendering a scene in Carrara with Octane and it's being stubborn with the emitters. Anyone else run into this? Might need to dig into those settings again.

    I don't use path tracing because as I do animations it's too slow so use Direct lighting, the Denoiser, texture instead of blackbody and slide the sampling rate right up 

    anything else is fireflies galore

    I recently got an email from Medicare, the US government health care insurance system.  It said I had a new statement, and to log in to read it.  They offered FOUR ways to log in, none of which let me log in without providing photos of my mother's birth certificate (kidding, but not by much ...) .  I had been to their site many times before, but they had "updated" their system, so my old username/password did not work.  I eventually got in, but these "Security updates" are a pain.

    I have a big folder with lots of old website usernames and passwords.  Most ot the websites are gone or reorganized.  Many in my file say "Password Standard" meaning my wife's name, five letters. The when I had to update the password for some reason, I added a "2" at the end of her name, clever huh?  Times were simpler back then, we did not have to have "letters, numbers, special characters, Klingon words, the last 4 digits in Pi" etc.   And yes, I use Google's password manager now, but it seems to miss some sites.

    Oh it's a pita otherwise I'd be able to write even more nonsense ;) recently been putting things in boxes and my cat has disappeared ....

    and killing illustrators, what takes me a few days to to in carrara takes ten seconds typing 

    well 'killing' is overused as a metaphor thing I guess

    I'm using Carrara to do this.... wink

    and using Gemini to fix up.... time taken approx.. from setting up in Carrara to image ---> about 10 minutes  surprise

    I did the lyrics of the songs based on the age old argument downunder 'are they potato scallops or potato cakes'

    then used Gemini to create my band ( the Scallop Rockers ) in an Aussie pub and then used AIMusic gen to create the video..

    the whole process took around one hour. surprise
