ah thanks Stezza, I am stuck in 1870 with windows 10 :) it does have snips for screen shots though thanks for the heads up !

    I stand in Solidarity heart

Micro$ux are giving us 6 months but 26% of users are on Win10

together we are strong and will hold the line

I want to use windows 3d builder , plus win 11 wont run on my machines - so bayonets fixed!!!

mine either, I know there are workarounds to fool it into thinking you have TPM but that's really not the point

they are demonetising all my most watched YouTube channels again

mostly the Reading Reddit ones with human narrators

happened before a few years back with the proliferation of TTS channels affecting the whole genre

now the AI narrated channels are likely driving this

I like listening to them as not inclined to read Reddit myself and love hearing a narrarator reacting

ahh... the old clown in the letterbox trick.. that's the third time I've fallen for it this week smiley

A surreal propaganda‑style piece that blends state vigilance with absurdity. The agents and fortress evoke paranoia and control, while the clown in the mailbox exposes the dysfunction or nonsense hidden inside official systems. The distorted slogans reinforce the theme of authority that looks serious but doesn’t quite make sense.

    love it wink

From my book of movie laugh lines, Smart talking to KAOS agent:

    QUOTE

Dementi, your demented plan will not work.

    Why not?

Because at this very moment, this warehouse is surrounded by one hundred cops with Doberman pinschers.  Would you believe it? One hundred cops with Doberman pinschers.

I find that hard to believe.

Would you believe ten security guards with a bloodhound?

    I don't think so.

How about a boy scout with rabies?

    END QUOTE

"Don Adams was a master of a unique, 'glicking' style of comedy, defined by a crisp, deadpan, and staccato delivery that turned the incompetent secret agent Maxwell Smart into a cultural icon. His performance in Get Smart (1965–1970) was so controlled and perfectly timed that producers of the show laughed before his lines even reached their punchlines."  - Google AI

I've just read a long New Yorker story about Sam Altman and the AI industry.  The gist is that these guys all said AI safety was a primary rule, then started forgetting about that when the money started flowing hugely.  Headline:

"Sam Altman May Control Our Future—Can He Be Trusted?
New interviews and closely guarded documents shed light on the persistent doubts about the head of OpenAI."

Thanks for the kindness on Max smart, yes he was a scream :) I read that 99 didn't really like him at first be ause if his ego. P,us the phone in his shoe made him limp.

. The cl,own in the image  was potus at first but he kept insisting that it was beneath himself to hide in a mail box. Besides, he didnt fit.

Sorry to hear about woes Wendy.

Great news David does not have e to worry about Lego any more. He can get on and do some important stuff now :)

Stevek sounds like the first rule of robots.

I asked nanobannana to add daz mushroom castle and daz millenium puppy and it gave me a new image with the question: "Would you like to add more Daz Studio assets to the scene, or perhaps change the time of day to see the castle glowing at night?"

Maybe daz should give google a ring

    Bad parcel delivery .....

Been buying a few books to top up the library.

One parcel came through, delivery guy did not call out or knock. He opened the front metal door "outwards" to place parcel in safe spot.

    Door opens inwards.

Was inside my room when it happened. Heard two very loud bangs, went out to see what had happened, only saw the parcel, no sign of the delivery guy.

Top hinge of the door is hanging on by one rivet on the frame.

Middle hinge of the door is hanging onto the frame by two rivets.

Bottom hinge on the door has completly seperated from the door.

At lunch-time today went out to pick up supplies, top hinge rivet broke - door now balancing ungainly on the middle hinge.

Repair man has been called, but they might not get here until next week. As well as replacing the rivets he might also have to replace the hinges as well.

Unfortunately no security camera - so no record of him doing He-Man of the Universe to the door.

That’s rough, Bunyip. Nothing like expecting a quiet book delivery and instead getting a full‑force door realignment courtesy of Captain Overenthusiastic Courier.

No knock, no call, no apology — just bang bang and a parcel left like evidence at a crime scene. Fingers crossed the repair people can sort the hinges quickly. Doors shouldn’t need to rely on “dramatic leaning” to stay upright. crying

I watched the Temu delivery guy today directly through my front window

    he never looked

even when I said thankyou as he placed it by my door

sorry about your door and the new fear unlocked surprise

Even without proof it may be worth a complaint, they may at least waive postage (if any) or give you a little store credit ex gratia without admitting liability.
