For those who may wonder, my avatar really is me with my pet squirrel on my shoulder, taken a "few" years ago. Cho has been a special Forum friend here and at that other place, lol. One thing I've learned is you can never best her in a "Tease Battle". You got me Cho - point, set and match. Thanks for the pics, still laughing.

Can the freebie be something I modeled myself?
Do previous freebies from Daz3D shop (PC or not) that are no longer free count?

1. if you modeled something by yourself and make it availible to download, then yes, those are counted,and only the DAZ freebies from September count this month ( in every month, the weekly freebies that are released during the month can be counted towards freebies)
To count as a freebie it has to be available to everyone, so if you modelled it yourself, then you have to distribute it as a freebie somewhere.
DAZ 3D weekly freebies, you can use any of the freebies that are issued in the month of the challenge, So last weeks, this weeks, and the next 3 that are yet to come.
You can have "Not counted" items though, if they have previously been freebies, or if you made it yourself for personal use. As long as you have the requisite number of freely availalbel freebies, with working links.
And Krissy got there first, because, as usual I use too many words to say the same thing.
Thanks all. Now I'll decide on my TV show, and nab an appropriate PhilC item and seven more freebies to be determined. If I don't get lazy. Or forget...what was I saying?

Next month will be the 5th annual "Monster Mash Halloween Bash". I wanted to go ahead and post a peek at one of the prizes I will be donating. This is called "Joe's Room". It is a small, fast loading, room corner with windows that overlook the city and a huge Joe's eatery sign. (M4 is not included.) It also has two sets of lights for DS. Day and Night lights with a single click. There are a few seperate furnishing props included, but you can use your own furnishings if you like. All will be in .pp2 format for Daz Studio and Poser users. The lights are in Daz Studio format only. I will be making more prizes to give. I am also VERY OPEN to accepting any donations anyone may want to give.

just remember, as long as they have been previously given away free (like the Christmas freebies that are given out by people for free and now you have to buy it), or they are unavailable to download anymore, or have no working link that you can find for them are you allowed to consider them "not counted" . If you make the item yourself as well, but if you make the item, and them put in on sharecg or anywhere else and offer it up free, then you can count towards your free count.

So just so I'm safe, I downloaded a whole bunch of animals/insects from content paradise a year(?) ago when they were free for a week, but now they are pay for items. If I use them I can list them as no count items, not paid for, correct? In the past I've played it safe and removed such items from my scenes to avoid having too many paid items.

I don't think we count Limited time freebies of this sort. They would be now counted as paid for, even though you got them free. It is a difficult thing to call, but genuine freebies, which have alwasys been free, but for whatever reason you cannot find links for now, do count as "not counted" freebies.
The rules actually say that freebies have to be available for the entire month that the contest is running. DAZ 3D freebies are the only exception, and I should clarify what the rules say about them. You can use, in the September Challenge, any of the weekly freebies that are released in Spetember. This is because DAZ 3D sponsors this contest, making it an Official COntest.
Sorry if my previous post was a bit misleading.
So not to get off topic.... but We were taking a walk last night around a couple of hours before sunset, just out of our house and down the street on a dirt road, about a mile total if we go to the end of the street and back. Now I have seen bear poop in my front yard, and heard that a bear has tried to get into my neighbor's back yards, and I have seen bear poop on the road where we take our walk, fresh almost ever time as well as coyote poop too, the hubby has even ran across a coyote pack once when he went alone. But last night was a first for me, first we saw a tree on the way out that had been seriously marked by a bear, a big one, and just been done, we got to the end of the road and turned around after doing our usual see how many fresh poops we could count, as we were walking back I heard a crunch of a branch and a rustle in the bush nearby. Further down we saw the biggest pile of bear poop I had ever seen, and it was VERY fresh. We continued on and started picking some blackberries, just as we had stopped we heard a loud ROAR and I personally high stepped it outa there, my husband laughing all the way. I guess living at the foothills of the mountains really means having wild animals near. I have seen my share of deer but that bear scared the crap out of me.
So how big was the pile of "Jeeperz poop" compared to the bear poop? :-)
