Comments
In Darkside-Midnight UI mode, Transforms sliders in the Parameter tab don't have color background anymore?
They are just grey now.
Is this intended?
Window>Style>Customise Style, in the 2D Axis group alt-opt click the colour pickers to reset them. It is intentional, but the default colours are unchanged.
Where do I find basic step-by-step instructions on how to install the latest DS, my products, and all my old runtimes in some sort of sensible order? All I find is scattered tutorials that are 4 to 15 years old, and it's all a confusing mess. Assume that I'm a total newbie ... what do I do?
Daz Save Guard is not compatible with Daz 4.24
DAZ 3D process was not found. Application will exit.
The photoshop bridge seems to have issues in DIM - the above error might be the photoshop bridge, but I think it is Save Guard.
You'll need to add Daz Studio and DIM to your account (if you haven't done so already). If not, you'll need to purchase it (it is free). Once you have done that, you can download DIM from your Product Library in your store account. Download and install it, then open it. Once you have logged in with DIM, there should be some Install Modules ready for download. Download and install it.
In DIM, click the settings gear icon (top right) and select Install Modules. It will give you a list of content needed to install.
In DS, you can specify the runtimes you want to add by using the Content Directory Manager.
SaveGuard is a 3rd party plugin, you'll need to submit a report so that it can be checked and reported to the PA.
The update has bricked Daz for me:
Anyone got any solutions?
Well, I can't say I notice any difference between 4.23 and 4.24 If anything there seems to be a little bit laggier viewport in 4.24 so I reverted to 4.23. Also the Filament issue with emissives is still present in 4.24. I mentioned it here for reference. I hope that will get fixed before 4.x is abandoned and all effort is in DS 2025.
The new interface color is nice, I really like it
I really dont get it. When something is working on Studio, someone, somehow, finds a way to blow it. After years and years of hopes and dreams I just reach the bottom line. Thank you guys! Are you amazing or what. Last version doesnt even start to render. How can i get 4.23 back?
New error
I clicked on install the new version and it disappeared, I clicked on uninstall in the installmanager and then reinstall it and it has not reappeared in the installmanager.
What nVidia driver version are you using, and what GPU?
You are looking in the Redy to instal or ready to Download tab, depending on whether or not DIM is set to delete packages after installing?
Not a power user but I rely on Daz for its compatability with Clo3D. This update has me totally lost. Where do I load in the poses that I bought???
Several of the buttons at the bottom of the Timeline pane are now too small or missing.
1. The Looping, Key Graph, Delete Keys, and Copy Keys toggles are now very tiny and unreadable.
2. The Paste Keys button is missing entirely.
As noted in the Evergreen thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/727631/daz-studio-2025-6-25-2025-x-evergreen#latest UI is still very much a work-in-progress due to the changes introduced in the new version of Qt.
Is this thread about the 2025 alpha or the recently released 4.24 General Release? I assumes jac4491416 was asking about the 4.24 version since that's the thread title. How would the 2025 alpha post have anything to do with it?
So 4.24 has the same QT version as DS 2025 thus the same WIP aka bugs ?
Where can I find the premier autosave feature for Daz 4.24.03? The DIM only offers the beta module for download.
Yes, sorry - I had the wrong Build in mind
Refresh DIM - it seems to be there now.
Yes! There it is.
Thanks a lot.
"Installation via Install Manager is recommended"
That may be so, but it doesn't seem possible. It's not showing up in DIM, and this install-option list (from https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176) seems to suggest manual DL and install is the only option, for both Mac and Win. Am I interpreting this information correctly?
Also, I'm not seeing this in any of the notes I've pored through: Is Filament supported on macOS yet, or not?
Filament is not supported on MacOS in DS 4.x, only in DS2025.
Got it, thank you. I did DL and install the 4.24 applicaiton manually, and it does appear to function as expected on macOS (2018 Mini, Intel), so that part worked out OK, at least.
Don't know if anyone else has asked this yet, but: How do you change the 'Item Highlight' color? (the color an item 'lights up" as when the mouse hovers over it)
The new Green color is a bit eye watering to me, I'd rather change it back to the more easy-on-the-eye yellow
Two things tick me off with the way dials are displayed now.
-Prior to this version, XYZ translate and rotate dials were color coded. Not anymore.
-When I select an object or figure, the list of dials displays the *bottom* of the entire list. Now, I have slide it up all the way to the top every time.
Were those changes that necessary? Is there a way to revert these?
Window>Style>Customise - it's in the 2. Accents, 09 Accent Colour. You can opt/alt click to rset it, or you can use the colour picker to seelct a custom colour (just make sure it won't blend with anything it should stand out against)
Window>Styles>Customise and chnage the 3D Axes colours (alt/opt click to reset to the old look, at least for now)
