well you did a really great job recreating your character for the next generation and she looks more enhanced in her facial features
And, of course, girls get their height before guys do, but does anyone want to bet that they'll still make Teen Jayden 7 (assuming he'll even exist) taller? In any case, with ShapeShfit for Gen 3 due out by the end of the week, quibbling about proportions is fairly pointless.
Yeah tell me about it just bought some gear but all for G2F that was going relatively cheap but other than that the only G3F things I have bought were the Head and Body Morphs the main reason I have not gotten anything more is the limited to no backwards compatability with previous generations and well I am not that flush with money to go on a massive spending spree and well the stuff I do have I have hardly used so to get more items I am hardly likely to use is a bit of a waste.. lol
I see you live in Adelaide isn't it amazing who you meet on the forums. :) I am from Goolwa on the Fleurieu Penninsula where it is nice and peaceful and not much goes on down this way.. lol :D
Agree; she is pretty representative of a lot of females one sees; the character model is very pretty - just a hint too perfect, but that can be changed, and with a great skin texture too.
Ah! Thank you; I'll try it!
...that looks really good.
...it may just be the angle, but her head and face kind of looks like a younger version of The Girl.
...hmmm, a long thick blonde braid and she's almost be Elsa from Frozen.
I like her quite a bit, but I did try to reduce the eye size some. This uses the Kimmy texture (with an added eyebrow mask for the translucency to avoid the red brows) and some morphs from the 200 Plus product.
I can understand that Daz artists want pretty and few people would want to work with 3D models that aren't visually appealing. I just think that those who are a bit dissapointed with Josie 7 were looking for a little less of this stylized cuteness, and a little more realistic human character. Perhaps not to the extent of the attached 3D model image but something less doll-like than Josie is.
...well, tempting, but again the lack of backwards compatibility particularly with regards to skin maps is still a big stumbling point for me.
She definitely has those Thorne "big eyes", which seem to be more prominent than Julie 5's, almost making her look like one of Thorne's Gen 4 fey characters. Indeed, with a proper bit of morphing and scaling, I think she'd make a very lovely fey (would a Giselle 7 even be needed?).
However I currently have my teen characters pretty much set using G2. Maybe in several months when more is released (including a revised Growing Up, and Skin Builder), I might reconsider, though I need to "freeze" the development of my characters at some point so I can get on with finishing the story..
@barbult / @ashley9803 : These look fantastic!
@larsmidnatt : With scary I want to say, Teen Josy 7 looks to be deep down in uncanny valley. Human looking enough to expect her to be real on first glance, but with features like her too-big-head and too-big-eyes not really looking human on second glance. The combination is just weird.
But then I think she looks the way V7 would have were she a decade younger.
V7 - that`s a can of worms to me. I don't like V7. She looks as artificial as a Barbie doll, except she wears more make-up. If I need a type of nasty female boss, I would choose her. So far the only Gen3 character I really like is Bethany.
Yeah! That portrait is what I call a realistic teen figure!
Here'sa another shot of Josie in one of the poses out of her bundle...
I keep looking at this, saying it's not real; it is, however, very close. Love it.
I love how you've ruined the symetry; made one eye not perfect, and the ears especially add to the believability.
First date at 11? That is crazy. My daughter is 14 and she just hangs out in groups of friends. There is no way, she and I would decide to that dating was appopriate for her right now.
That is not his/her image (And Ashley did not claim it to be theirs) and it is not a DAZ model. It is a custom sculpt by a very talented modeler from their CGSociety portfolio (see credits at bottom). A completely different league from what we do here.
EDIT to add: Check out the "Making of" for this image: http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/max/young-girl/girl.html
and that artists portfolio (look at those movie credits) and you get an idea about the talent and hard work you are looking at: http://vikiyeo.wix.com/vikiyeo
ANOTHER EDit to add: If you look at the "making of" you can also see that this model is a one-shot setup. One pose, one camera setup. Useless for anything else. That is the biggest difference to what we do here. Our models must work in all kinds of setup and poses.

If Josie is too unrealistic, you can dial her head morph down to about 30% and either stop there or dial in some V7 or Bethany or Eva. You will get a more real world head shape, but still have some of the youthful charm that Josie has
I find that using "Head propagating scale" and "eye size" to slightly reduce both does wonders to move towards more realistic proportions.

Yeh, pretty amazing; although I think it was more hanging out with friends, although you always know who her friends are? I didn't tell my parents everything, and I know my friends were the same; we started liking some privacy pretty early on. It is tough for parents to handle I imagine.
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head there. If you want unrealistic then there's Aiko and The Girl, Teen Josie should have been more like the adults in terms of realism. If she's ever on offer like Olympia 6 was, at over 70% off, then I might pick her up (mmm, sounds a bit wrong), as it is I'd take Eva and shrink her a bit if I were to want a teenager (sounds wrong too).
CHEERS!
That's a bit more like it.
CHEERS!
I think she's a bit skinny. Most of the teens I know still have a bit of puppy fat at 15 or 16 years old.
is that the skinny version or the regular version? And maybe could use the pear or weight morphs in small amounts to give her some size?
Yet again there's the conflict of idealised vs realistic.
CHEERS!
That was straight out of the box. No idea as to whether it was skinny or regular.
I think it's fine if she's more stylised. There are two more realistic characters packaged with her, and at least it's something a little different from V7 and her 47 clones. Aside from Bethany, I struggle to tell the difference between the rest of the currently available characters.
Josie 7 at least fills the roles of a teen character for those who want one (assuming you adjust her for realism if you want that) as well as a fairy type (she even comes with fairy ears.)
I wouldn't know either and I tinkered with her shape a bit yesterday. I just noticed in the dials she has a skinny and a regular version. thanks
