@dkgoose, you have joined the club of posters who misquoted and rolled their response into a random quote.
I see people seeing this sale as having punitive factors....taking revs off and such and I don't actually understand how this differs in logic from the punches where you had to build up your punches to earn a particular discount and if you didn't get enough punches or didn't use them, you lost them. This sale you start with a good discount of 40% and are able to build up (or if you bought the Karen and/or Scott bundle started with an additional discount) to a max of 4 revs. I've been able to save and get good bargains each day of the sale. Had I not bought, I'd down a rev for each day I didn't buy, but never lose the base 40% off and can build up as soon as I start buying again. With the punch system, I never managed to get any discounts or lost them before being able to use them. So for me, this sale seems easier to get better discounts and continue having them throughout the month. That's just my take on it.
I agree a bit...but it's not throughout the month, its for about 3 days. Which is an incredibly high regularity to buy stuff. It is still effectively buy stuff everyday for a month. Before the punch discounts we had those high risk/high reward buy an item today, get 50% off stuff tommorow. Those were far less committal. But you lost it all in a day...
So I don't think it's really better...just different. But it must be really hard to come up with month long promotions, back to back! So I get it. Honestly the PA sale, March Madness and the PC sale seem like crutches, legacies of the past that are well past their prime. But maybe they still make money so it's worth all the effort and lashback. PC sales at this point aren't remotely as engaging or community driven as they once were, kinda soured it for lots of us.
But as I have already stated, 40% off is pretty neato. If it's not worth that price to the buyer, they shouldn't buy it. Anything extra is a bonus.
I'm with Gigi, I find it easier to visualise my saving by looking at what I'm going to pay rather than what I am not going to pay - first thing I always do when looking at sale goods (or trying to work out how much they ought to be in the cart) is to get the calculator and subtract the quoted %age from 100 to work out what percentage I'm going to be paying - smaller the better.
And you don't have to buy all month (though I'm sure Daz and the PAs would love it if you did :) ). You still get 40% anytime. If you lose revs, you can build up again and get bigger discounts AS you build. And if you wanted two items, you could buy one qualifying product, and go back and buy the second one with the higher discount.
Haha i didn't even realize that till I checked back on the thread lol
The new site makes it difficult to quote lol
Press the quote button, then type under the grey sideblock.
If you end up with your text within the blockquote, as in this http://prntscr.com/8cqka2, press the source button and remove the blockquote command and place it in the correct spot at the end of the actual quote as in this, http://prntscr.com/8cql0w.
Ok I'll have to pay more attention then lol
BTW, the Confessional price changed, instead of $6.28 it's only 15% off and over $12.00

Oh, no- don't tell me this sale is on for the entire month? While I agree that it's much better than the punches, it's still skewed in favour of the big spenders, so us poor hobyists get to watch from the sidelines like little street urchins, pressed up against the window of a restaurant on a cold winter night.
i can't believe the price i just go the V7 pro pack for...good think I only bought 1 hair and the base figure from that bundle before today. Them adding V7 to the 40% still featured was a surprise. I had nothing to buy to rev up today...at least nothing I was eager for. The V7 pro pack was a crazy value...
Annual PA sale is on for the whole month of September, and October will be Platinum Club anniversary (ie more sales).
Do they mix things up during the sale- give a flat 60% next week, third week have a buy one get one free etc, or is it a rev up sale from now to the end?
you never know. like they threw in gift card discounts a couple of times now. they put V7 into the qualifying items. none of this stuff was predictable.
They don't announce anything ahead of time. Just check in for a few minutes and you should be able to see whats up. I think they even did a 4 hour sale at one point. granted those are hard to catch.
:/ how did I lose a rev today when the day isn't over? Maybe I don't understand the sale like I thought I did :(
I've spent upwards over 500 to thousands in the last sales such as March Madness, summer sales, or last years PA sale--playing the whole discount game. I can already see that I won't be spending much in this sale. Due to work commitments, I wasn't able to get online the first couple of days of the sale--lost the Rev-Ups from purchasing Scott Pro. I then made the mistake of not reading the fine print that you can only get one rev-up per day and purchased 3 items thinking I would get a Rev-Up from each and attempt to meet the terms and conditions going forward--which of course only gave me one rev-up.
So I'm not going to play this game, as I hate the terms. Not so upset about losing a Rev a day, though as others said, it does punish the shopper who can't be at the site daily due to life commitments, but only being able to get one rev-up per day doesn't work for me. Guess other sites are going to be getting the majority of the money I had been saving for the PA sale.
I don't normally complain about sales (or anything really, whether poor website design, poor product metadata, etc), just go with the terms as are and hope for the best--this time, I think DAZ shot themselves in the foot and with the terms and are actually going to get less participation and money, just that those of us who are high spenders but lurkers aren't going to say anything, instead will barely buy anything or nothing at all instead.
Well, if it's any consolation, I'm a very big spender, and I found this sale to be sufficiently disappointing that I'm basically sitting it out. I did buy that confessional bundle, using my PA coupon it came to something like $2.30. But weigh that against returning the Karen 7 pro bundle (which I also foind disappointing, and never should have given in to that silly "buy now and get a super collosal amazing surprise next week" hype thing) I bought a few days before it started, and this is like negative $55.
I did my usual thing, when they had a discount on gift cards a few days before the sale, I always buy a $200 or $300 card, save myself an extra 10%. I was going to buy an even bigger card this time, because I always use up the store credit 1/2 was through a sale. Glad I didn't. At the current rate, it will take me until January to use it all up.
So far, the only people who have benefitted from that are two artists who had stuff I wanted in Fast Grab.
There seems to be some horrible glitch happening for some poeple involving losing a rev when they shouldn't have.

There doesn't seem to be a way to link to a particular post anymore. The posts about this problem start about half way down on page one and continue through page two.
The sales are different every year, so there's no way for us to know, but I would be surprised if they changed the main sale.
I found it, thank you very much for the heads up :)

Awesome! Thank you!
Am I going mad? I bought 'DG Up Close - Portrait Studio Poses for Genesis 3 Female(s) and Victoria 7' earlier today (Sept 7), as it was in the New Featured section. Now it's not there (same day) and I haven't earned a rev-up. I'm sure it was there, I would never have soughit it out otherwise. I'm going to lie down in a dark room, this is all too much for me...
It is still there - uncheck Hide Products I Own and you should see it. It should earn a Rev, if not please open a support ticket for Sales.
So, I know there's the whole "rev-up thing" that can eventually get you to around something like 64% off... But only after you've bit things at a lot worse discount. And even 64% is a bit small. I thought people said it was supposed to be a month of awesome sales, not this mere 40% off we've had the past week. And it only is really promoting the new items.
I liked the 80% off at the end of last month, but that came after I'd spent my budget. The new sale seem rather lacking to me. Am I missing some hidden awesomeness?
It really did used to be a great sale, one of the best.
But fun/exciting DAZ is long gone and dead.
Just eat your automated banner and listen to the folk songs of days gone by. 8()
you only get 1 rev a day tho, don't you? So if you buy something in the morning, then buy something in the afternoon, you only get the 1 rev for both purchases?
