well i was wondering about that. I got the easels yesterday cos they were free and noticed it gave me a rev up. Today I bought that PC hair cos it was a PC item......but my rev up didn't change. It still says 1, when it should say 2. So don't know what's going on but rev up isn't working. Easel was 1, plus today the hair should be 2. Nup.
We are a business and the account technically belongs to the business. One of the last remaining reasons we continue to purchase from DAZ has to do with their 30 day return policy. So, no, we are not looking at it the wrong way. We are simply opting out of the promotional so that we may retain our rights as buyers to the standard Daz3d return policy.
i think its more of a CS nightmare than anything. they do complicated promos, people do crazy math. They find out they did the sequence wrong. Hence not being allowed to return stuff you bought to rebuy again.
BUT. I stick clearly with my opinion. Don't buy stuff ya dont need. Don't buy risky stuff. Only buy stuff that you find a fair price at the time of purchase.
But I agree, about not looking only at negatives. I don't think we should tune them out either. But look at the bright side at same time. 40% off...not so bad...anything more a bonus.
Did you try logging out and then logging back in again? That's what I had to do. Even though I was fully logged in and had just made a purchase, it still made me log out and back in again before it would show the extra rev-up on the page.
well going to have to agree with you here while there is plenty of stuff I like in today and the previous days offerings and I would and do plan on buying a lot of it can picture a lot of render ideas can use a lot of the stuff for, but think I'll miss today and save my money in case something I really really want comes up and costs more sure my re up will go down but I'll still have more money in my account in case something I really want comes up but can't get cause I've spent my money like you said if you really want a product you'll get regardless and if you get a bonus well that's a bonus and anyway I got a nice freebie and a cheap hair that was nice with an extra discount so can't complain about that
This post should be archived for all time, no one other sums up the insane complexity of modern DAZ sales quite like this. When you have to use variables to explain how a sale works, it is too complicated. Doesn't necessarily mean the discounts aren't good, but I've yet to fathom why every major sale here needs a FAQ to figure out.
Featured items and Still Featured earn rev points.
A qualifying product is Featured (green section) the first day and Still Featured (blue section) for two more days (3 days total).
There is one rev point per day possible, max of 4.
If you bought Scott's Pro bundle, you started on day one with 2 rev points. If you bought Karen's, you started with 2 rev points. If you bought both you started with 4 rev points. If you started with points through the bundles, you needed to buy a qualifying product on day 1 to keep the points (plus start adding if you only started with 2).
Once you have 4 points, you need to make a purchase per day to maintain that maximum level. If you lose a point because you found nothing you wanted to purchase, you can get it back by buying the day after the one you didn't purchase on.
Once you make a qualifying purchase, your rev points go up (max of 4) and you can make another purchase again, even that day, to get the additional discount (or max discount if you're at 4 points).
Since you can see the Featured and Still Featured sections, you can see what is eligible for a qualifying purchase.
Personally, I have had trouble understanding past sales, and just hoped for the best. This one was pretty clear to me and for the first time, I was actuallly able to have discounts when I purchased. I always seemed to lose my punches before being able to use any.
P.S. If you're in doubt about when a product was added, use this URL
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/22637/start
and change the numbers at the end to the sku number of the product and it will tell you its release date, it is eligible on its date of release and 2 more days after that.
Well the gift cards based on Revs must be coming out during a time interval that I don't shop because I have missed both of them.... wish they would last for a full Rev day:(
It was a four hour flash sale which ended at 5:15 pm MDT. It wouldn't surprise me if they ran it again.
I totally understand this and I'm fine with it, but I don't understand why you (as I understand it) can't return items that are discounted because of your Rev-Up status, as long as these items themselves are not generating Rev-Up points. You can't gain anything or cheat in any way by returning these, as far as I can see?
Therefore...
A minor detail I guess but the Rev-Up bar on top of the pages is misleading:
My biggest problem with spending at DAZ right now is the value of the Aussie dollar - adding about 37% to the cart price + international transaction fee makes all these pretty sales look a lot less palitable.
...or when a product was "last added"
I had the Reallusion Pro bundle in my wishlist for a while waiting on a sale...then it disappeared a few weeks ago, and my wishlist had a broken link for a while (I was unable to remove it, and I figured it was a website bug). Last week, a notice appeared that it was replaced by SKU 22667, which is the same bundle, but now it's "NEW".
That's a tricky way to disqualify coupons for items, with the exclusion clause.
(...they should know, in their store, there's always someone watching
)
Thats the nice thing about converting to GB£. It feels like a built in 33% discount, no obviously it isn't and a pound in the UK probably buys more than a dollar in the US but even when everything is listed in dollars my head thinks pounds. I spent £12 on three nice new sets from i13 the other day, well made with iray lighting, shaders and useful poses all for the price of three pints of beer. For me this is a good sale.
The NZ dollar has gained a lot on the aussie in recent years, but yeah it would still hurt. Stupid economy that'll teach us for ignoring everything but minning.
The 3DExchange versions in the two bundles were upgraded from 3DXchange 5 to 3DXchange 6.
Maybe.....Maybe not...
Still on the fence about this iClone package...anyone get it yet? Initial thoughts?
I am on the fence to.
Hope that the iclone package is tommorow still a Rev up .. forgot what came the first day
The iClone packages were from the first day, so today is the last day they qualify.
Here in the UK I use my debit card rather than PayPal as their exchange rate, dollars to pounds, is better.
You must see what it looks like here in South Africa. We're sitting at R13.57 to the $. It was R13.20 a week ago and 12.60 a month ago. Every day this sale is getting more expensive.
It's perhaps worth pointing out that - once you've built up to 4 revs - you can get most of the benefits of 4 rev status but buy qualifying items only every other day.
Suppose you earn your 4th rev on Friday morning. The 4 rev discount remains in force for the rest of Friday and the whole of Saturday (when you don't buy any qualifying items). You only drop back to 3 rev status on Sunday morning - then you buy another qualifying item (admittedly at the 3 rev price) and push yourself back up to 4 revs until the end of Monday.
Something I don't think I've seen explained yet — does a rev-up I get from buying a qualified item count for anything else that was in the same cart, or is it a "will apply to the next purchase" thing? I've only bought single items so far, and I didn't want to try it for myself because of the delay in both the extra rev-up point showing on my meter, and the extra discount showing in anything I put into my cart right afterwards.
That last one is a bit of a head-scratcher; after getting a point, I put something from the list into my cart and switch to the cart view. In the cart list, the item shows only the base 40% discount but the cart total beside it shows the proper revved-up discount. If I wait a little while and look again, both prices agree.
Ah well, doing all right, up to three points and 30% discount without spending too much... so far.
Let's see what's up for tomorrow.
It doesn't apply until the next order. If the cart total and individual item don't agree I just refresh the page and it corrects itself.
Ouch! I think I don't get to grumble any more.
Have had all day to consider, and I think I am going to pass on iClone. Since they already said they won't extend iClone...I won't be spending on a rev. If they do extend it, I will still then only have three. Soooo...have fun with the sale y'all, I'm out!
OK, I bought it...I had a good fantasy football draft, so I figured, "What the heck!" :)
So much to learn so little time...
But...I spent my budget, so have fun with the sale y'all, I'm out! (again)
